I came across Armani Lip Shimmer through its 2007 Christmas Limited Edition release; I bought No.32 (bold red with very little pearl, but adds a dewy tint to the lips - very likely the one shown on this screen) and No.41 (not much colour but full of brilliant opalescent pearls) and was over the moon with their outcomes. I have been an ardent admirer of this product ever since.
Armani Lip Shimmer comes in a simple case with black cap (and a black band underneath that) which easily shows the colours it contains. Some Limited Edition items will have swarovski crystal embedded in them for additional specialty.
As is the case with almost all cosmetics products from Armani, the texture of their Lip Shimmer is considerably light especially compared to their equivalent from Bobbi Brown (by far) and MAC (taking into account that MAC has a variety of products with different textures altogether). Of course, it has enough viscosity to stay on your lips (it will not run down the back of your hand for example) but it does not present you with the unpleasant stickiness when you purse your lips. I love the fact that it doesn't go on heavy but is surprisingly lasting (it doesn't remain completely after a cup of tea of two but the shine and the pearl is still there).
The brush that comes with this gloss is an appropriately flexible one similar to that of 3D series from Bourjois. It does not split and glides smoothly on lips.
The vividness of colour differs between numbers; some are not created to come out bold though others are. The single most impressive feature of Armani Lip Shimmer is their pearls - they are so very fine without exception so that you will never feel them plus catch and reflect the light beautifully.
This product seems to have moisturising qualities similar to that of Dior Ultra Reflects as I noticed the skin of my lips calming a while after putting the Lip Shimmer on.
This is a very versatile product to use as it can be combined with a whole array of lipsticks to create combination to suit occasions and moods as well as worn alone.
As I understand, the current best seller seems to be No.1, a lucid peach colour that gives off a very natural shine. Have fun testing all their collection of colours and always watch out for their Limited Edition items!
