Fed up of foundation moving, not being long lasting and if i went anywhere near my face it would rub off. So i went to buy a primer. Without this primer my makeup wouldnt look professional and even. Not alot of this product is needed, a small amount is enough for the whole face. I apply this after moisturiser and find that my foundation glides on brilliant! My friends have tried all the expensive makes and constantly go back to gosh primer!!! Foundation sets on skin much better, coverage looks flawless and skin tone becomes even after using the primer. This is also good to use on its own if you dont like to wear makeup as it evens skin tone and a little go's a long way!! Fantastic product and would not be without it now! another must have in the makeup bag!!! Reasonable price and brill product, fab!!
And now for the anti aging version! This little beauty is available from Superdrug stores at around £15 per bottle. All you need to use is a pea-sized amount for your whole face - therefore your whole pump bottle will actually last you quite a long time! Apply it all over your face and neck with your fingers or a clean brush. I would recommend either applying it to a clean dry face, or after you have applied your moisturiser, not before. This is similar to the cheaper regular version, but it can actually help to minimise signs of aging. As well as concealing them, regular usage of this primer can help to reduce signs of age such as lines and wrinkles. At 23, I can't say that I have had to use this product myself, but my mum is a complete convert. I got her onto the regular primer about a year or so ago, and we both really loved the finished effect. As soon as this anti aging version came out, I bought it for her and now she never goes a day without it. Her skin always looks fresh and plumped after using it, but she has also noticed a visible decline in fine lines since using it. So on paper, I would recommend it as someone who loves the regular version, but after seeing the results with my mum, I would definately recommend it for anyone suffering with signs of aging. This product does two things in one, all the benefits of a good primer, with anti aging properties.
Primers are used to help keep your foundation in place and ceate a smooth surface fot it to sit on. This was the first primer i ever bought and from the very first time i used it i loved it. Since usining this primer i have tried out a number of more expensive options and none have matched up to it. It does exactly what it says on the tin, my skin felt like velvet. it goes on so smooth and creates a perfect base for my foundation. Once foundation is applied you can really see the benefit of this wonderfull concoction. It creates a flawless airbrushed effect. Dont get me wrong this is no mirricle but its close! I know a number of people who use this product and it work well with al there skin types. i have very dry sensitive skin and it does not irritate my skin at all so you have nothing to worry about there. I myself dont have very many wrinkles and it stil works perfectly on my skin. however my mother has used the product and it is definately effective at reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles due to its claimed 'anti-wrinkle effect'. 'Gosh Velvet Touch Foundation Primer is a perfect base for all makeup. It fills in fine lines and deep pores in the skin, creating a uniform, matt and silky soft surface, enabling the easy and smooth application of foundation.' superdrug. PACKAGING: Itcomes in a handy sized bottle (30ml) so will have no problem fitting in your purse but also contains lots of product. the clear tube allows you to see how much is left so you know when your running low. the tube empties bottom to top so ALL profuct can be used rather than half the bottle beingleft in the bottom. The pump gives just the right amount of primer for one application so little is waisted. PRICE: This is very reasonably priced for a primer at just £13 which is a bargain compared to some more expensive brands who dont offer the same quality. AVAILABILITY: I have never had any problem in finding this primer on the high street in shops such as superdrug or at gosh counters in department stores. But dont be fooled this is more than high street quality. The primer can be found on ebay for a lesser price but bewear of fakes. In my oppinion this is the perfect primer based on price, packaging AND quality. I would seriously recomend this to EVERYONE wrinkles or no wrinkles.
I'm one of those people who have pretty much one of every make up product available. I don't always wear a lot of makeup, but I always wear a primer concealer and foundation. I used to use a MAC primer, but seeing as I used it liberally every single day it soon ran out and was pretty costly. I'd Googled around for a cheaper one and came across a GOSH one. Having first discovered GOSH Cosmetics a while ago I was familiar with the brand and knew that other product's I'd bought were really good for what they cost. The next day I went into Superdrug and went straight over to the GOSH counter and picked it up. It comes in this 'apricot' colour and a clear colour too. I bought the clear one... The product is in effect, temporary Botox. It says on the back of the tube "fills in fine lines and deep pores in the skin, creating a uniform, matt and silky soft surface, enabling the easy and smooth application of foundation". I'm honestly not sure if the filling in lines is true as I'm only young I don't [yet] have any :) Yay! But the silky soft surface is a definite. My Face; Not the whitest kid on the block - but not quite half cast. I have dry skin on my face, but with moisturiser every day that's not a problem. I don't have oily skin, so foundation and other make up usually stays rather well. I have a relatively blemish free complexion (apart from the occasional spot breakout). Cost; £13 which is really reasonable for a good primer. You get 30ml of product which is great as you don't need a lot of it on your skin. Texture; It's like a clear not-quite-gel. It's not solid enough to be a gel, but too solid to be a liquid. I've just got a bit on my hand now so I'll try and describe what it's like... It doesn't need rubbing in a lot, it sort of 'dissolves' or dries instantly into the skin leaving it really really smooth and soft. You then can't see it anymore, so it looks like your natural skin. If you were just going to wear it on its own, say without foundation, it'd make you skin look really fresh and plumped up. Smell; It doesn't have one. Not even a faint one... Says on the back "without preservatives and perfume". Perfect. Performance; really depends on how you use it. I 99.9% of the time apply all my makeup with the correct makeup brush and when I apply my foundation with a brush it glides over the primer really easily and still blends easily and just looks really nice and natural and more fresh than if I'd just put it on my bare skin. Same with my concealer. ALSO I wear eyeshadow really often and it also makes a really good eyeshadow primer when your regular one runs out. However, if I apply my foundation with my fingers over the primer, I find it peels up and you end up having to take the lot off. I thought that was a bit odd but as I say I'm not used to applying foundation with my fingers anyway. This will definitely be my foundation primer from now on. It's a real makeup bag essential for me!
I have nothing but LOVE for this primer! Probably the best out there at the moment. AVAILABILITY: I know that this product is available in Superdrug at the GOSH counters, however some superdrugs dont have GOSH so in that case this is available online. E-bay, Amazon, Cosmetics Company outlet and the GOSH website is where this is available from. So overall, it can be a tricky find. PRICE: I paid £13 for this primer, and seeing as I usually pay £19 for the MAC one, then that is a good saving for me. Also, the bottle does last around 2 months with everyday usage so it is quite a good deal. If you dont have trouble with huge pores or wrinkles then maybe it isn't worth investing into, though. PACKAGING: Clear, simple packaging with the GOSH logo written on the front and a clear pull off lid. I tend to like all the GOSH packaging as it is always sleek and elegant and this is no different. There is a pump dispenser at the top which is much more handy than a tube or a spatula, as you can get just the right amount of primer without wasting or using too much. PRODUCT: The product is genuinely incredible. After moisturizing your face, you apply this all over. As soon as i put this on my skin, it glided right over my pores, leaving me looking as if I had skin as perfect as a babys bottom! All my skin was even and had a velvety touch to it, it also brightened up dull areas of my face. I then applied my foundation and I found I didnt need to use as much as usual for some reason. My foundation lasted ALL day literally, it did not sweat off or come off in problem areas, it just stayed thanks to the primer. This controlled the dryness in my skin and left it looking plump and hydrated. I wouldn't reccomend this product to oily skin sufferers, as it does have an oil-like consistancy and it will probably make the oil much worse. However if you are a dry skin sufferer, then I would totally reccomend you check this out and see what you think. 5/5
This is the second primer i have used.the first i used was clarins instant smooth perfecting touch.(but clarins is expensive for a small tub) anyway this is one of the gosh primers and the only reason i bought this one is because i tried it on my hand and it made it so smooth that i had to buy it. I apply to my face with my fingers and i use just one pump for my whole face. I think the reason its called velvet touch is that it makes your skin incredibly soft and smooth like velvet. :) It makes pores smaller and my foundation just goes on like silk . I was shocked at such a difference it made to the finish of my skin . Also its slightly moisturising but not oily . I have dry areas on blemishes and this just makes it so much easier to cover. more about the product its a small bottle with a pump and it has a style so that you can use all the product . it has 30ml of product. advantages makes skin soft and smooth foundation is easier to apply pores appear smaller. only need a tiny amount for whole face. disadvantages none so far where to buy superdrug £15
