      Great Everyday Product

      For any of you who have read any of my previous reviews you will know that i'm a big lover of make up. Especially lipsticks. Upon buying this product I wasn't aware of the brand, but with the price tag at just £3.99 I thought it was worth trying out. Similar products such as 1000 kisses lip tint from Rimmel are priced at around the £5.99 mark. I have two of these Rimmel products and am very fond of them so was curious to see how this unknown brand to me would match up.

      The Brand
      ======
      As just mentioned I had no previous knowledge of this product so after purchasing this lip stain I thought I would do some background research. The GOSH brand actually originates from Denmark and dates back to 1945. They started off as a pharmaceutical company and it wasn't until 1979 that they released their first GOSH product. This company is now part of a family run business. They aim to supply an array of different coloured products to keep up with the latest trends of the modern day.

      The Look
      ======
      As you can see from the above picture, the lip marker is completely black with white writing. The coloured block on the bottom is the colour you will achieve on your lips. With the black background and the white writing it has the look of a MAC product. Another similarity between the two brands is that all descriptions and information is written in capitals. The lip stain is very soft to touch and fits comfortably in your hand. This product is called a 'Long lasting lip marker' and for application the tip looks exactly like a coloured marker.

      Application And Longevity
      ===============
      I've used many different lip products and these type of lipstain markers are one that I find easiest to apply. The marker tip makes achieving a precise lip line a piece of cake. I firstly do the outline my lips, then the rest is almost like colouring in. May sound like childs play but makes the mundane task of daily make up a little less tedious. This lip marker gives you a lovely matte look, which is what I tend to go for in lipsticks. After application the colour will not smudge at all. It dries instantly and leave your lips looking full and moisturised. In my case iv found the lip stain to last around 5 hours before feeling the need to reapply, which makes it perfect wear for a day or night out. I've had this product for around 2 months now and its still going strong, using it around 3 times a week! The only downside I could say about this product is that when holding it, some liquid can sit on the top and transfer onto your hands, and as its a lipstain it tends to stain your hands. Which can be quite hard to remove

      Summary
      =======
      I have been totally shocked with this product, I was impressed with the rimmel 1000 kisses lip tint, but this is cheaper and lasts longer. For only £3.99 it is a really great buy. Its very easy to apply, unlike other lipsticks I've tried. It lasts for hours on end. Doesn't smudge, which means you can eat and drink without the worry of having lipstick all round your face. Which has happened to me many of times. Very embarrassing! I would highly recommend this product to anyone, its available in many colours. So there is a shade for everyone. Overall great product at a great price!!

        Advantages

        Disadvantages

        A great lip tint

        When these lip markers first came out a year or so ago , I was incredibly excited to try them out, as it was a new concept at the time and I had never tried a 'felt tip' lip stain. As my local Superdrug didn't have any in stock, I decided to order one online, which arrived with a plain nib and no product inside the casing, which put me off - I returned it and didn't buy another one. I'd completely forgotten about the lip markers up until about a month ago when one of my favourite Youtube beauty guru's featured one in a make up tutorial and as I was so impressed with the finish it gave, I decided to buy one.

        These retail at £6.99 each which I do think is slightly pricey, but as Superdrug have a long term offer of mix & match 3 for 2 on Gosh products, I can't complain too much and in my opinion £6.99 is a fair price considering the quality. The lip marker is available in a variety of shades - pink, red, berry and chocolate. I think that it's brilliant that there quite a wide choice of shades available and there's a shade to suit every skin tone. I opted for red as this was the deepest shade available, apart from 'chocolate' obviously. I love the red lip look and use this for a subtle tint of colour whenever lipstick would be a little over the top.

        The lip marker is really simple in design - it's shaped like a thick, medium length pen which I think is a cute design and it is black in colour with the Gosh branding in white writing. There is a little clear piece of plastic on the end of the pen which is coloured to match the shade of the product, which is especially handy if you buy more than one shade as it's easy to see which is which. The lid of the 'pen' simply pulls off, revealing a pointed nib with the bottom encased in plastic to keep it securely attatched. Using the lip marker is very easy, simply use it like a lip liner then fill the lips in.

        The nib is dry but as soon as it meets the skin the slightly moist lip stain comes out and the product although not moisturising is not at all drying. This is really precise due to the pointed nib and the nib has held its shape since I've had the lip marker, which is around a month. This does highlight any cracks or dry patches on the lips, so it is important to exfoliate them (witht a lip scrub) and apply lip balm before application - if you don't it won't look very nice at all. As the lip tint dries when on the lips and offers no sheen, I usually apply a thin layer of vaseline, which finishes it off nicely. The lip tint has a pleasant, sweet scent which lingers for a few minutes and it's also slightly sweet to the taste.

        This is very pigmented and it provides suprisingly intense colour; it does look almost like lipstick. It is one of the most long lasting lip tints that I've tried and it lasts for around five-six hours before it starts fading slightly - not bad in my opinion. This is non transferrable too, meaning if I give my boyfriend Marc a quick kiss he isn't left with red smudges on his face/lips which again is an advantage. It lasts well even when eating/drinking, but removing it is easy; I remove mine with a damp piece of cotton wool or tissue. I've had this lip tint for around a month now and despite how much I've used it, there still seems to be plenty of product left and the nib has not dryed out.

        Overall, I really like this lip marker. It's incredibly well pigmented, is long lasting and looks good (as long as it's not applied to dry lips!) Reccommended.

          Advantages

          Disadvantages

          A really useful addition to your make up bag

          I love this lip marker., Not only is it kind of fun to put on (remember those days as a kid when you used felt tips as make up?) but it also stains your lips so they retain the colour for ages. The nib of the marker is lovely and soft, and the pointed tip means you can get it right to the edges.
          I've found it particularly useful for going out in the evening as you don't need to keep reapplying it and it doesn't give you dry lips as lipsticks can. The only problem is that although it colours it doesn't keep your lips shiny. A lip gloss maybe necessary to complement the marker.
          The colour choices are very strong and quite unusual, it would be great to see this come out in some calmer colours for daytime wear.
          According to the lady in Superdrug, this product is not tested on animals.

          Advantages

          Disadvantages

          Perfect for people that find themselves licking off their current lip product.

          BACKGROUND
          It was my Mam that first saw this product, she asked for two shades for her birthday last month. They were a 3 for 2 offer so I bought myself one. I bought mine the Cherry shade as I am a fan of the red / pink tones of lip products.

          THE BRAND (5/5)
          The GOSH brand is quite new compared to many other cosmetic brands, and is currently sold in Superdrug. I have tried a few products from the brand including the foundation. I am quite positive towards the brand as it is cheaper than the likes of MAC and Smashbox, yet they still have a wide range and good quality.

          I am rating the brand at 5/5.

          THE PACKAGING (4/5)
          The packaging is simple yet sophisticated. This product looks like a black pen with a colour swatch on the end, so that you know the colour of the product. It has GOSH written up the side in white text. As a big fan of the MAC range, I really like the GOSH packaging as it mirrors their sophisticated simplistic appearance. However, it is a little boring and unless people have heard good things about the range, it is not going to draw new customers in.

          I am rating the packaging at 4/5.

          THE APPLICATION (5/5)
          The application is so simple. Take yourself back to your childhood with a pen and a colouring book. When you grow up your colouring book becomes your face, but with this product the felt tip pen still exists. You simply outline your lips using the tip of the pen, then tilt the pen to the side and fill in your lips using the edge of the tip. And you are done!

          Personally, I like to add a lip balm over the top as a suffer from dry skin in general and my lips are no different. The GOSH lip marker dries almost immediately therefore I find I need something to inject moisture into my lips. I have discovered that the lip marker does not last as long if you apply balm first, so I apply it last.

          I am rating the application as 5/5, so simple.

          THE EFFECT (5/5)
          I love the highly pigmented colour of this product and the colour lasts for about 4 hours without fading. I usually get about an hour or two at the most out of most lip products as I have an awful habit of licking my lips.

          I am rating the product as 5/5 for effect as it lasts longer than other lip products.

          SUMMARY
          I will definitely be borrow the two shades that my Mam bought from the GOSH range along with my own Cherry. The only criticisms that I have is that there are only four shades, it might be worth while making a few more shades, in particular a purple shade :)
