Advantages: Nice colours?
Disadvantages: Greasy and I can't wear it
On another of my recent lipstick hunts to revamp my make up bag I came across a range in Superdrug I had never heard of before so I decided to try this brand, 'Gosh'. Ok I liked the name (I admit it lol!
Now when choosing a lipstick in this range be aware that that there are two different types of lipstick within the range. One formula is 'pearl shine' (my choice) and the other is 'velvet touch'. There isn't loads to choose from colour wise only about 6 colours in each formula from what I saw and they're all about £6.00 each. The pearl shine is as it indicates by it's name. It just a bit shinier than the velvet touch one and both ranges house different colours.
The Packaging....
Plastic shiny dark grey conventional lipstick casing which the lid, like any other lipstick pulls on and off and the product itself twists up and down to reveal the colour. It has a silver band where the lid fits on and off and on the front also in silver writing I'm simply told 'Gosh'. On the bottom is a coloured sticker the same as the colour I have chosen and I'm told it is Pearl Shine, 'Desire' and the colour is 608 in my case. It's quite nice, grown up packaging and is robust and none scratching.
First time you see the colour it's slanted and sharp looking but it loses that the more you use it of course.
Using It....
Well it's ok. I'd love to say for the money it was great but it was as I say simply ok! Applying it is easy and it's easy to shape and colour in the lips. Shaping and defining is simple as anything and coverage is great and not too thick or thin. It looks a little bit shiny but not fake and doesn't make the lips look large or full it just gives colour to what you have normally.
It looks quite natural (my colour does anyway, I can't speak for ever other colour in the range of course). However I don't like the smell which is a really odd cosmetic smell and it tastes quite odd however the taste does fade after a while but it does give a sweet aftertaste about it that I hate though it's not a flavour. Also the feeling on the lips is just gross if you apply and go and go about your buisness.
Now I can use this better if I apply, blot , apply and blot all over again. However if you apply and go yuk!!!!!!!!! Although it doesn't look greasy it makes lips far to smooth and my lips feel too greasy and it's awful and annoying. It transfers off everywhere which is a nuisance but it can be wiped off where it transfers to quite easy but you lose the colour quick say in about half an hour of eating, drinking and smoking etc and this is horrible when it comes off on food and stuff (which it does).
If your doing nothing but sitting pretty this stays on a bit longer say an hour or so and it just simply fades off without staining or going on teeth or hanging about in the corners of lips.
Overall....
I don't like it. I'm fussy about lipsticks at the best of times and the one thing I really dislike is that greasy slimy feeling when wearing it. I do reinforce the fact it doesn't appear greasy and although it doesn't feel heavy at all you can feel the product on the lips. Not one for me at all! I would'nt advise anyone to purchase this without giving it a good test in the shop first. I found it really irritating!
Summary: Test, test, test ladies!
