I got this eyeshadow in Superdrug few months ago, as they tend to have 3 for 2 promotion on Gosh products and I didn't know what third product to pick. After all this time I'm happy to say it was a good choice.
This is a single eyeshadow, that comes in a thin lipstick-like plastic container. Cap is tight enough and doesn't come off if you have it loose in your handbag. Twisting mechanism is also tight enough not to allow stick of eyeshadow scroll back in when you press a bit harder on your eye lids. Container is same colour as eyeshadow inside (fairly accurate) and has a sticker on the cap with name of the shade, barcode and list of ingredients - mine is called Love that cool mint!, so a bit metallic light green-ish shade (I think all of them are called "Love that" and something that describes the colour. I'm aware of seven shades - most of them purple/lilac or brown-ish, but there may be more)
Un-twisting the eyeshadow completely reveals approx. 3 cm of eyeshadow stick in consistency of not-too-oily lipstick. It is easy to apply, although can be a bit tricky around contours - when applying it at home I use a brush for creamy eye shadow that's also fairly easily used and gives perfect results.
The colour is non-transparent, and can look a bit heavy if you're not careful, but looks perfect if applied correctly. It is easily adjusted using cotton buds if you happen to smudge it where you didn't mean to. After few hours, I found the eyeshadow transferring a little, and very slightly changing the colour as well (I presume this is due to oiliness of the eyelids) - however it's so handy to keep it with you that you can fix your make-up on the go, so not a major issue for me.
Also, I use Gosh Eye-shadow Primer quite a lot, however when on the go, I can only keep this eyeshadow in and use it as a primer for similar colour powder eye shadows - works just as well (in fact I suspect the Primer is the same thing, just white).
Waterproof-ness is not something why I would buy an eye shadow - I don't go swimming with make-up, neither do I prepare specifically for watching sad movie in the cinema, so don't really see the point. The only time when I can see this is when removing make up - I need a make-up remover, can't just use water (well, I use mascara as well so I wouldn't use just water anyway). I find it easily removed, no hassle.
It costs around £8 (can't remember exactly) so quite expensive for a single shade, however as I'm regularly stocking up on Gosh primers, it's one of those items that are ideal to add as a part of 3 for 2 deal (it's quite often on in Superdrug, I have used it plenty of times). If available like this, I will "buy" again, but would not pay full price for it.
When it comes to eyeshadows I seriously can't resist buying them! When it comes to Gosh as a brand I love it so when I saw a Gosh eyeshadows I hadn't seen before and in a couple on really pretty colours I decided that I simply had to buy them!
The eyeshadow comes in a long pen style plastic holder. Half of the case pulls on/off like a pen lid and you simply twist up/down the other end to use the colour. On one side of it I'm told that it is Gosh Waterproof Eye Shadow and on the other side of it I'm told the product is made in the EU and that once it's been opened that it stays fresh for 24 months. There is also a white sticky label on it that peels off with ease and on that other information includes what the colour of the eyeshadow is called and ingredients are listed. All eyeshadows come in the same colour plastic holder that the actual colour you have purchased is. It's nice packaging and of good quality and of course it's as informative as it needs to be!
The Eyeshadow itself:
Well like I have already said I treated myself to two colours from this particular range and me, I'm mighty glad I did!
In each one you get rather a lot of colour and it's quite a thick block too. You can either apply it straight from the tube onto the eyes or onto a finger and smudge it on, the choice is yours.
They are moist going on eyeshadows these. Deeply pigmented with colour and a slight shimmer to them (no glitter particles though!) they go on the eyes as smooth as silk. You can of course dab a little on or build the colour up...once again the choice is yours depending on the look you want to achieve!
So applying them is quite simply a doddle. They glide over the eyes and evenly coat them and quite simply they sit on the eyes and in place for hours upon hours. I have noticed though if I rub my eyes (forgetting it is on) I do get transfer so that isn't advised as a worthwhile thing to do at all!
However is it waterproof? Yes it is actually. I mean sure it comes off if you rub your eyes in water hard but as for this eyeshadow simply getting wet (I.E swimming pool) it stays in place totally!
I like this eyeshadow which is rather surprising for me as I don't usually get on with moist eyeshadows at all. However I do appreciate the ease of use this provides and the longevity it gives. I find it to stay on the eyes comfortably and as good as new for a good fews hours and it doesn't fade, crumble or look grimy over time and when it comes to removing it just use your usual make-up removing routine and voilà it is off!
Probably best to use on not so wrinkled eyes, I find this on mine to be lightly hydrating and very comfortable to wear indeed and I have really sensitive eyes. This works out a very economical product too in the long run cos you don't need lots to get an even looking colour and once on you don't have to keep 'topping it up!'. Very nice indeed Gosh!
I have only seen this in sale in Superdrug priced at £7.50 per tube (no size is stated). Do look about for this online though for deals and there are sure a few to be had as far as I have seen!
