I received this product in my Glossybox several months ago and I think its wonderful. I had heard of the HD Brows brand before but had never tried any of their products. I am now totally converted. The box comes with 4 2g powders in different shades and a little brush. The shades can be blended to make the perfect match to each individual person's eyebrows so they look natural or can be darkened depending on what look you are going for. It is perfect to create a subtle daytime look and a darker nighttime one. I even use it for definition at dancing competitions and it works wonders. The palette costs £20 and in my opinion this is totally worth the money for 4 blendable shades that last a long time. As such a small amount is needed in each application, the palette will last for months on end. I have already been using it for 2 months and it has barely made a dent! The palette is a small size and will easily fit in the palm of your hand. This makes it easy for applying on the move, especially with the handy mirror in the top, and will fit in a makeup bag easily, leaving plenty of room for your other items.
This is a review of the HD Brows Eye and Brow Pallette which I was delighted to receive in my beauty box I subscribe to a couple of months ago. I thought myself really lucky as I had also received the HD Brows tweezers the previous months and it's not usual to land the 'best' items each month! What is it? The pallette is something which is much sought after in the beauty world. Brows are literally a big thing right now and if you followed a previous trend of 'barely there brows' then you're going to need all the help you can get! The pallette contains four matte brow shades which also double up as an eye shadow and eyeliner. Mine My pallette came in the shade 'foxy' which is for mid browns and you can also get a shade lighter for blondes and darker to match brown and black hair shades. I thought mine might be a problem as I am blonde (and you don't get to choose with this beauty box) but I was pleased with the shades and could make them work with my colouring anyway. Packaging The brows set comes in a nice compact with an applicator and a mirror in the lid and this is also boxed with the HD Brows logo on the outside. It is really portable although it is to be transported with care as there is a risk of the contents shattering if it gets bashed about. In use In use with brows, a little bit really goes a long way! You can opt for one shade or build up colour, it's best to experiment with the shades and find what suits you. You may also prefer a more dramatic look for evenings and this is possible with the colour ways. I found the lightest shade was a no-no on the brows but worked well just under as a highlighter and as an eyeshadow. Used wet, they also make a nice eyeliner and this makes the set a really versatile piece of make up. Price and availability The RRP for the set is £20 but you can pick them up on ebay a little cheaper. The brand is popular so it's unlikely to go for much less than the RRP. Make sure you check out the three colour options (bombshell, vamp and foxy) to work out which one is best for you. My thoughts I love this set and think it's one of those make up staples which is well worth the money. It can make such a difference to the definition of your face and fill in any gaps where plucking may have left your brows a little sparse. You can have a natural or heavy look with the set and also use it to define eyes as well. Final word I love the HD Brows brand and can happily recommend this pallette for eyebrows. I've been plucking my eyebrows for 12 years (yikes, that makes me feel old!) and have been guilty of over-plucking. My natural eyebrows are rather thick and unruly, but I am now at the other end of the spectrum and they are thin and uninteresting, and do absolutely nothing to accentuate my features. Imagine my joy at opening my July Glossybox and finding an HD Eye & Brows Palette inside. For those of you who don't know HD Brows, or High Definition Brows, is the latest craze in eyebrow shaping and is apparently popular amongst the rich and famous. There are many salons that offer the HD Brows experience, which is a 7 step, often long term programme aimed at perfecting a defined brow that is tailored to each individuals face shape and preferences. As well as offering salon sessions, HD Brows also have a range of products to allow people at home to have gorgeous eyebrows. The Eye & Brows palette is one of them. This compact comes in 3 shades: Bombshell (for blondes), Foxy (for brunettes) and Vamp (for dark hair) The shade I received was Vamp, which is perfect for my dark brown hair. There are 4 shades included in the palette - a nude, a carbon and 2 dark browns. There is also a double ended brush - one side with a straight angled brush for creating a stronger brow, the other with a slightly curved softer brush for creating a more natural look (or at least that's what I've found when using the opposite sides of the brush) The palette is not all that big and would easily fit into a handbag or clutch. It is a multi-purpose product (yay!) and can be used for filling in the brows or as eye shadow. It also features a mirror which is always handy if you're out and about. When it comes to creating a defined brow using the palette it's ridiculously easy. I was really scared that I would end up giving myself an OTT 'Scouse brow' but actually the colours go on smoothly and it's easy to get the look you want just by filling in gaps in the brow. I've found the carbon is too dark to apply all over my eyebrow, but the two dark browns are great. After some experimenting I think it looks more natural if the middle of the brows are darker, so I just add a little extra powder here to build up the colour. The shades are all really well pigmented. If using the palette for matt eye shadows it's simple to create a casual daytime, or a smoky evening look, though I have found that they don't last all that long on eyelids. This is completely the opposite on the brows though. I do also use the HD Brow Beater to keep my brows from becoming unruly, however even when I forgo the brow beater the brow powder has fantastic staying power and it doesn't smudge. I remove at night time with what's left of my foundation and mascara. I wish I could take a photo and upload it to show you all the difference this has made to my brows. It's pretty amazing. I will admit that it took some getting used to and initially I was self concious about leaving the house with what I assumed were two huge hairy caterpillars crawling above my eyes, but now I can see that it's a vast improvement. I have a round face so the thicker, more defined look definitely flatters my face more. I only wish someone had told me months ago that my thin brows looked ridiculous. The HD Eye & Brow Palette retails at about £19. This is a little bit pricey, but I've been using mine every day for a month and there's not even a dent in my two most frequently used colours. I foresee this lasting me a long time, so I'd say it's actually pretty good value for money.
I received my HD eye and brow palette in my most recent Glossybox. Prior to this, I was unaware of the HD Brow brand. They are a salon brand with several boutique salons nationwide, offering a 7 step guide to perfect brows. Aside from offering salon services they sell products and make-up aimed to accentuate and style the eyes and eyebrows. Stockists are limited, but this can be bought from HD Brows' website for around £20 for 4, 2g powders. The palette is available in 3 shades depending on your hair colour, I have Vamp which is formulated for darker hair colours - similar to the picture above, but there are palettes available for lighter hair colours. In Vamp there is a nude, a carbon shadow and two dark brown tone powders to create a multi-tone look. The palette is around 3"x3" in size, so fits easily in your make-up bag or handbag. The mirror on this pallet is great, it fills most of the lid of this palette and makes doing your make-up really easy and clear. The applicator brush is around 2" in length and has an angled brush at one end and a regular brush at the other. The quality of the bristles is high, they feels smooth to the touch and they do not fray or fall out. My eyebrows are dark brown in colour and I am able to use all 3 of the darker tones on my eyebrows to neaten and even them up. A small amount of powder is needed to achieve a natural look, so the palette will last around 12 months before all the shades are used up. The angled brush makes applying the powders really easy, the brush simply glides over the brows. When I first used this I was concerned that the powder my skip or smudge from my brows during the day and I would weird! There was no need to worry as this stayed put on my brows, only needing a touch up around 5 hours afterwards; just to smooth the hairs. The darker colours also look great on the eyelids for a smoky/ nude look. They sit well on the lid without creasing or smudging. The colours can be blended in for a more daring evening look, bit can also be worn on their own for a casual, daytime look. The light, nude colour can be used as a highlighter under the eyebrow to brighten the eye area, also. The powders also have longevity on the lids and last a good 4-5 hours. Overall, this is a lovely multipurpose tool and I am so happy I received it in my Glossybox! £20 is a little expensive, but it is contains a highlighter, eyeshadow, eyebrow shadow and mirror in one -plus it will last for ages! So these qualities do help soften the price tag a little. 4 Stars due to the price
