Advantages: Compact and light weight

Disadvantages: Left my skin feeling dry

I am always on the hunt for something new, especially when it comes to finding a foundation that covers flaws and leaves me with a natural tone and shine. After trying several of the Avon foundation ranges, I come across this item in the sale leaflet and thought I would give it a go. The product was on sale for £5 and caught my eye from the moment I saw it. The sleek, compact design leaves it perfect to use on the go or just to pop into a bag incase you need a touch up. Upon opening the product I was surprised to find the amount of foundation that was actually there.. In the picture, I felt it looked quite shallow and left me slightly skeptical when it come to quantity for price, however after opening the product I was pleasantly surprised. There is a mirror on the inside of the top lid, which is a bonus because you won't need to carry one round seperately. touching the actual foundation with my finger tip, it felt light and creamy. If you then lift up the level that the foundation is on, there is a little compartment with a soft applicator, I found this to be incredibly handy. So I decided to take the plunge and try the product on my face, After first applying it to my cheek and stopping to look at the rest of my face, I was pleased with the blended result It achieved, leaving me with my natural colour but 'perfecting' the level and tone. After applying the foundation to my whole face, I took a look in the handy mirror and had achieved my desired results. The foundation was very light weight and left my face feeling fresh and smooth. Throughout the day, I began to feel a little self-conscious as the product began to wear off and left my skin quite patchy in areas, despite re-application. After wiping off the foundation, I was quite upset to see that it had left my skin rough and dry in areas. Now I do have very sensitive skin, so this may have just been an outcome of that, however I do normally react quite well to the rest of the Avon range. I have since found that applying moisturiser to my face and leaving it to settle for 5 minutes before applying the foundation, that it is a lot less patchy and does actually appear to stay on for longer. The rough and dry patches at the end are still the same, however this is something I am working with because I do like the effect that the foundation has whilst it is on. The product blends well with natural skin tones and I feel that it is quite light reflective, giving a glow. I'm not too sure if I would purchase this product for the normal catalogue price of £10, however if you happen to come across it in the sale, I would recommend grabbing yourself a bargain and trying it for yourself. I would definitely recommend applying a moisturing lotion before hand if your skin is prone to drying out, however if you have quite oily or well-moistured skin, I would recommend this product to you!

Summary: When applied following moisturiser, it looks fab! A bargain when on sale!
