~Lip Frosting~

Lip Frosting is a lipgloss product offered by Jelly Pong Pong.

Lip Frosting has been designed to give your lips a glossy sheen and is a sheer 'cherry' colour. Lip Frosting contains a few key ingredients which work together to keep your lips in a healthy condition :

*Aloe vera extract - anti-inflammatory and healing properties
*Grapeseed oil - to moisturise
*Vitamin E - to prevent signs of ageing
*Beeswax - a softening agent and antiseptic emolient

Lip Frosting is described as having a 'scrumptious dessert' scent which is noted as 'Irish Cream Pavlova' on the tube. The tube itself is described as being 'fat' and is made of white and light pink tinted plastic with a screw off lid. It is noted that you can use a small amount of this frosting on your cheeks for a glow.

~Price and Availability~

A tube has an 18month shelf life. It can be purchased online from www.beautyboxx.co.uk priced at £8.00. It is also available from www.jellypongpong.com at £10.00 per tube (15ml).

~My Thoughts~

My sister gave me a tube of Lip Frosting a few months ago. Until then, I had never tried the Jelly Pong Pong range. Marketed as having a dessert scent, my sister knew this would be right up my street. I quite like it but it isn't my favourite lip product to use for a few different reasons.

The tube, in my opinion, is too fat for a lipgloss. I prefer a brush or at least a slanted applicator to apply my lipglosses with but this has neither - it has quite a large opening which really isn't shaped well for slicking across the lips. For that reason, I usually squeeze a small amount of Lip Frosting on to my finger and apply it that way.

This product has quite a thick consistency which and is a deep cherry red shade. I will admit, I was put off by the strong colour of this Lip Frosting as I have pale skin and feared it may look a little too heavy on my lips. Despite being quite thick, this Lip Frosting is easy to smooth across my lips. Only a small blob, well a tiny blob to be more specific, is required to fully coat my lips.

Lip Frosting does feel a little heavy at first on my lips but soon I forget that I am wearing it. It feels very moisturising and rather conditioning which I like as I have dry lips and doesn't feel overly sticky. I feel comfortable wearing it and it hasn't irritated my lips at all. The colour of Lip Frosting isn't as strong on the lips as in the tube. It gives my lips a beautiful pink tint which looks healthy and not over the top at the all. My lips have a nice sheen to them which looks good and not unnatural in the slightest.

The scent of this Lip Frosting smells amazing the tube - creamy and succulently sweet but more like sweeties than Irish Cream Pavlova. I wouldn't say it leaves a sweet coating on my lips though which I would have appreciated. It just tastes like any other lipgloss but with a sweet smell at first. It doesn't last all that long as the colour starts to fade or transfer as soon as I take a drink or something to eat. It isn't practical to top up too often as it does get a little messy having to apply it with my fingers.

I have tried it as a cheek tint too and much prefer a blusher or Benefit cheek tints. I found that this Lip Frosting was a little too thick to work with on my cheeks and whilst it left my cheeks flushed with a nice pink colour, it also left a sticky sheen too which I wasn't so keen on.

~Conclusion~

Not very practical to apply and the novelty of the sweet scent soon wears off but this Lip Frosting does leave my lips looking and feeling good for a short while. I wouldn't pay £10.00 for it but will happily use it as it was given to me. I can imagine it would appeal to younger lipgloss wearers.

3 stars.

Thanks for reading :) x
