Kissing Point Lip Gloss

This was a second Christmas gift (I've already reviewed the lip liner) received from my very good friend, who sadly for me now lives in Australia. I miss her, obviously, but it does soften the blow slightly when you get the chance to try out fabulous new products like these!

The packaging is similar to that of the lip liner - a plain cardboard carton which gives easy access to the product. The cardboard carton is girly pink with shiny foil lip imprints and "Kissing Point(TM) where lips meet" written across it. The product information is on one side of the box. The shade of your gloss is detailed under the barcode.

The lip gloss itself has a top and is transparent, so you can monitor how much product you have left. It has "kissing point" and a heart with "E.C" in it in silver-grey.

The silver lid twists off and out pops the brush applicator loaded with your gloss. I tend to prefer brush applicators rather than the sponge-type ones, although I have had one stray bristle from the brush stuck to my lips so far.

The first thing you notice is the divine smell from the gloss. I have shade "Peck" and it smells of chocolate with vanilla. Mmm, mmm! I could sniff it all day....

The gloss goes on smoothly, slightly sticky but not unduly so. One brush loaded with the gloss is enough to give the lips good coverage. "Peck" is a lovely bronzy-beige subtle shade with silvery undertones. Perfect for everyday wear, but may be a little understated if you are looking for a bolder or more dramatic look.

After wearing for a while, the gloss feels less sticky - I'm not promising that your hair won't stick to your lips in windy weather, but at least you won't feel like your lips are super-gluing themselves together if you pucker up! I've found the gloss lasts well, it can survive a cup of tea and my lunch, but I would always pop the gloss in my bag if I was out and about for the day, so I could top up - and get another fix of the gorgeous smell! It contains Shea Butter, a natural moisturiser, and Jojoba, also a moisturiser which has healing properties too. I've noticed that my lips don't feel at all dry after wearing this, so I can only deduce that the moisturisers are effective. And any residue at the end of the day is removed easily with a cleansing wipe.

The gloss is available in 7 different shades each with their own "flavour". I have only tested "Peck" - to me the gloss only smells, and doesn't taste of chocolate, but I can't comment on the other varieties. (Details taken from the Kissing Point(TM) Website)

* Pash - Intense Pink, pinacolda flavour
* Peck - Beige & silver, chocolate flavour
* French Kiss - Luscious pink, strawberry flavour
* Kiss & Tell - Orange, Midori(TM) flavour
* Pucker - Bronze, guava flavour
* Smooch - Gold & silver, blueberry flavour
* Secret Kiss - Clear, vanilla flavour

I think I might be dropping hints before my birthday that I fancy trying out a few more of these varieties...

I am not really a regular make-up wearing but I have found myself wearing this most days alongside the lip liner as I find them easy to apply, I love the smell and I am confident in the look I get wearing them.

The major downside is that Kissing Point products do seem to be available only in Australia currently. Their website www.kissingpoint.com.au lists the lip liner at a price of $19.95 AUS (approximately £9.50) each with free P&P - but only within Australia. The product is made in Spain, so I suppose there is also a carbon footprint issue there too.

Availability aside, I recommend this product. Now you just have to find someone Down Under to send you some!
