Kissing Point Lip Liner with Brush

This was a Christmas gift received from my very good friend, who sadly for me (I miss her!) now lives in Australia. On the up-side though, it does mean that I get to find out about fabulous products like this, I suppose.

The packaging is my favourite kind; a plain cardboard carton, which opens easily without having to faff about with scissors or tweezers. It is fantastically girly, all pink with shiny foil writing "Kissing PointTM where lips meet" and a lip imprint. Almost too nice to throw out, or recycle! All the product information is on one side of the box.

The actual lip liner itself is pink with the shiny foil writing identical to the packaging. It is a pencil-type liner with a cap on either end. There is a band of colour round one end of the liner so that you can tell which end has the liner and which end has the brush.

The lip liner has a great "propelling pencil" type applicator. No need to bother with pencil sharpeners, you just carefully twist the end of the pencil to screw out the product and it glides smoothly on, to give that perfect outline. There is no "drag" on your lips when applying this product, the consistency of the liner is almost creamy and I cannot imagine it drying out the way some pencil liner have a tendency to do over time.

There is a blender brush on the end opposite end of the liner. It is a good quality brush and I have not found any stray, moulting brush hairs stuck to my lips to date.

This lip liner is only available in three shades; Barely There (a sheer natural shade), Perfect Pink ("a gorgeous, rosy pink") and Brazen Brown ("a bold brown"). I have the Barely There shade which I have found suitable for wearing with most of my lipsticks and glosses as it really is a neutral shade which just outlines the lips and prevents any "bleeding" of colour.

I am not really a big makeup wearer but I have found myself using this and the accompanying lipgloss (review to follow!) regularly as I actually really enjoy wearing them and find the application easy and I am confident in the effect that they give. The product relatively good endurance-wise, requiring repair after food, but surviving a coffee or a cold drink!

The major downside is that Kissing Point products do seem to be available only in Australia currently. Their website www.kissingpoint.com.au lists the lip liner at a price of $14.95 AUS (approximately £6.80) each with free P&P - but only within Australia. The product is made in Spain, so I suppose there is also a carbon footprint issue there too.

Availability aside, I recommend this product. Now you just have to find someone Down Under to send you some!

The amount of people I see who I have now worked out are missing a lip brush- I still can't get used to the big brown cartoon-clown-style lipline so many people seem to have- I hope this comes over here (to the UK) and catches on!
