      Advantages

      Disadvantages

      Not what it should be.

L'oreal De-maq Expert 2in1 Make-up Remover is a product I want to like, but which falls so far short on expectations. The De-maq range has 4 liquid make-up removers and wipes, marketed using a "professional formula" and "innovation" claim. What is innovative about the product is not clear.

      *PACKAGING*

The packaging is as above picture, a soft plastic tube with a flip lid on the underneath, containing 150ml of remover liquid. The lid is painfully screechy when opening and is not sturdy and snaps easily within a few days of use.

      *PRODUCT AND USE*

The remover is pale pink. It is cream like when squeezed out, but transforms to very thin liquid when touched. It goes on cool and while it looks creamy it is surprisingly astringent. It is smoothed onto the face then removed with cotton wool. I find that it liquefies my make-up making it run into my eyes, so I get black threads of make-up under my eyelids.

Removal of the product and make-up leaves behind a greasy feeling, as though I've applied Vaseline all over my face.

It could be that this product is more suitable for dry skin than for normal/combination, but the marketing and packaging of the product does not explain which product is effective for which skin type, and even so I really hate products leaving residue on my skin unless it is a moisturiser that I have chosen.

Another thing I hate is the scent. It is a cross between talc and clothes that have been left in the washing machine for a few days with a slight sweet/floral overtone. Doesn't inspire application to skin.

My skin is an oily/combination skin. This is one of the most disappointing make up removal that I have used.

My skin does not feel good after using it. It feels quite oily and I suspect that the make up is not removed properly. As they said Milk to Toner 2 in 1 make up removal, I did not use my toner. However, it just does not feel clean to me. For this one, I squirted about a 50 p size blob after the first time in order to be certain that my skin was clean. I still broke out in pimples though. Hence, after a week, I stopped using this product.

The toner feeling is actually quite weird as my face feels oilier rather than clean. I was quite hesistant to continue using it after I broke out. I believe that the other L'oreal de-maq velvet creme is much better as I did not break out and I used much less to clean my face.

Not fragrance free. It comes in a 150 ml size tube.
