I love L'Oreal lip glosses and always use their Glam Shine gloss so when I saw this advertised I was straight off to Boots the very next day to get some.
L'Oreal makeup is widely available in most stores that sell makeup like Boots and Superdrug and costs £7.69 on the high street but I have found if you shop around you can get it much cheaper. For example www.shop4makeup.com has it available for just £2.67! That's a saving of 62%. They do charge shipping but at 1.95 for 1 item, £2.25 for 2 items & £2.49 for 3 items or more you're still saving money on the high street price. Plus if you spend £30 or more you get free shipping.
The tube is quite a small size compared to other lip glosses at just 6ml but it promises 6 hours of wear per application which means you don't have to reapply it very often throughout the day so it does last quite a long time.
Colours available in this range are:
Just the names alone conjure up images of sparkling diamonds!!!
L'Oreal promises liquid diamond shine when you apply these because they're made with precious ingredients of pearl particles and metashine silver and boy do they deliver!!! I have the Pink Carat and it's a lovely dark coloured pink infused with silver sparkle!! It's not sticky or tacky at all. The colour is comes out on my lips true to how it looks in the tube. It has a their patented heart shaped sponge on the end of the wand that gives you easy perfect application and is great for the cupids bow. After applying I'm left with stunningly glossy, shiny sparkly pink lips and I love it!!! Unlike other gliterry lip glosses it's not gritty at all, my lips feel smooth and soft when I use this. I keep this for evening wear because of the deep colour and sparkle but the lighter shades in the range could be worn in the daytime.
I always wear make up every day and my husband Mark says our bedroom often resembles Boots make up counters! Its not really that bad but I do like make up and buy some most weeks. I always wear lip stick for work but for a night out or special occasion I like lip gloss. I tried L'Oreal Glam Shine Diamant recently for a night out.
L'Oreal Glam Shine Diamant is a lip gloss with a bit of added sparkle and promises to make your lips look "sexy and glamorous" What more could a girl ask for. I bought mine from my local Boots for £7.69 , a bit dearer than some other lip glosses but not extortionate. It comes in several different colours:-
I opted for pink carat, a nice mid to deep pink colour. The bottle is a nice curved shape which tapers in at the top and is clear so you can see the gloss inside. The front has L'Oreal Paris written at the top and Glam Shine Diamant written across the middle, underneath this is a small outline of a diamond. The shiny lid is quite large making it easy to hold when applying the gloss with the wand which is attached to the inside of the lid.
The lip gloss in the bottle looks sparkly but I've had lip gloss before that looked nice in the bottle and was disappointing when worn, I was hoping that this one would be different.
L'Oreal have used a patented heart shaped wand to apply this gloss with. Its made from a flexible material which is very soft. It is called heart shaped but its more of an open oval shape really. Its been especially designed so you can add as many layers of the lip gloss as you like for fuller plumped up lips.
Glam Shine Diamante had been made using a new formula of refined Prisma Pearls and Metashine Silver which when combined reflect the light and sparkle. The lip gloss is also designed to be non sticky and to leave your lips smooth and soft. There's nothing worse than a lip gloss that leaves your lips sticky so I had high hopes for this one.
Appling this lip gloss is simplicity itself, the wand picks up a good amount of the gloss and glides over my lips with ease. The new heart shaped wand does its job well and makes following the shape of your lips easy. It applies the gloss in even coats, there's no thick or thin patches. In my opinion the colour on your lips is pretty much true to the colour in the bottle but it was the shine that really impressed me. It certainly does give a "glam shine" but it also has a lovely sparkle too, nothing ridiculous like you've put your lips in a pot of glitter but a nice sparkly shiny look.
The lip gloss feels nice when worn, not sticky or thick. It does however need reapplying during an evening out but a quick touch up with the wand will soon have you looking your glamorous best again. I will definitely buy this lip gloss again, its not, in my opinion, suitable for the office or every day shopping, but it is ideal for a night out when you want to glam it up a bit. It gives you lovely shiny lips with a bit of sparkle, this one is well worth the money.
This is a reasonably priced lip gloss from L'Oreal and it is a reasonably good product as well. I paid £5.99 for mine and there are a range of colours to choose from in the L'Oreal range with lots of different tints to choose from it you do not want a plain old gloss effect but also want a hint of colour. In this range there are browns right through to all shades of reds.
There is a foam applicator inside of the silver lid and the bottle has a sleek curved design, the foam applicator sits on the end of a reasonably long wand, well long given the constraints of the packaging and compared to other applicators I have used. It is easy to apply with the applicator and glides on nice and smoothly for an even finish.
It is not sticky when you apply it which I like and it has good staying power as well, bonding with my skin and leaving my lips with a nice hint of colour without looking overly made up. It does not feel heavy on my lips which is nice, it has a natural feel and my lips are nice and smooth and slightly moist feeling. It leaves my lips with a nice shiny look to them and as such they look good and healthy.
This is certainly worth a try, I have one of the lighter pink shades and it looks good, I can imagine the darker red tint being a little more pronounced when applied. One application lasts about three to four hours I reckon so you are not constantly touching it up and the bottle fits nicely in my bag and the lid is nice and secure.
I've had mixed experiences with L'Oreal lip products, finding a lot of their items make the skin on my lips very dry. I only discovered their Glam Shine Diamant after winning one in a competition last year but it's honestly been such a fab product that I have since bought it again, also buying one for my eldest daughter who also loves it despite the fact that she's usually very critical of lip glosses.
My shade of choice is Pink Carat, although there are quite a few other pinks and nudes to choose from in this range. I like Pink Carat because it has a brighter colour than I'd usually expect from a lip gloss, at the same time never compromising on the shine and gloss effect.
When you first take the top off you might be a bit put off by the 'gloopiness' of the gloss, it doesn't look very appealling and I must admit I was a bit worried as to how it would perform based on the thick and sticky looking gunk on the end of the applicator. I should have trusted L'Oreal though as it applies beautifully and the colour literally glides across my lips, the shine is apparent from the second you touch your lips with the gloss and applying two or three coats (obviously with a short space of drying time between them) will leave you with a pretty deep colour and a level of shine that I'm sure you weren't expecting based on the colour of the gloss while it's still inside the bottle.
Being a gloss, this never completely dries on your lips. It's not sticky or particularly tacky to wear and I've found I don't have the problem of my hair sticking to my lips throughout the day, although obviously this will happen if I decide to take a stroll in the wind - hardly L'Oreal's fault though as on a day-to-day basis it's absolutely fine. I think the sponge applicator is spot on too, the heart shaping makes it easy to apply with or without lip liner (I always use lip liner though as it prevents the colour from bleeding into the skin around my lips) and there's something about this shape of applicator which makes it pick up the correct amount of gloss on each dip into the bottle.
The effects of the gloss on my lips is fab and surprisingly long lasting. As an example, I wore it yesterday and after applying at around 10am the colour and shine were still brightly visible at 2pm which is when I decided to reapply. To be honest I could have left it a longer but I was wearing a bronzing powder at the time and I think the effect is much better when freshly applied as the colour stands out so nicely against my darker-than-usual-for-me skin. During this time I had drunk numerous cups of coffee (transfer rate isn't too bad, although when drinking hot drinks it will mark the edge of the cup every time) and also eaten a sandwich, so I'd say this is pretty impressive.
To wear this gloss you do need a certain amount of self-confidence, purely due to the fact that it is quite bright and the Pink Carat shade isn't particularly versatile when it comes to teaming it with other colours of make-up or even what you wear. The extremely visible shine is not for the feint hearted and although the colour itself is mildly sheer (but still bright, if you get my drift?!) it does worry me sometimes now I'm getting a bit older that it's going to start looking too youthful for me. I think I'm just about getting away with it at the moment, but am sure the time will come when I'm going to have to start thinking about toning down my lip colour - and unfortunately this time is speeding towards me!
I've just about worn this gloss to death over the 'summer' this year, it looks so good with a tan and when worn without lipstick creates the perfect (kinda) natural look most women go for in the warmer weather. It's possible to wear it over a lipstick for a night out, but you have to be careful which colour and even brand you choose as your base lipstick as this gloss has a habit of sliding off certain lipsticks so I'd recommend you trying it in the safety of your own home before deciding to wear it out just in case it ends up in a right royal mess after an hour.
I highly, highly recommend this lip gloss. The almost metallic shine it produces is excellent and the colour is perfect if you're looking for a bright(ish) pink shade to adorn your lips. I also have the clear gloss which is available in the Glam Shine range (although this is not from the Diamant off-shoot) and this too is excellent, in fact I'd go as far as saying just about every colour and shade I've used from this range have been more than impressive and Glam Shine Diamant is now a staple product in my make-up bag.
I am currently using 1 of these and I have been using this off and on for a good few months now. I bought this when it was on offer in Boots and I think I paid about £4.99 for this. This has £2 off it at that time and although I like to use colour on my Lips I don't tend to use Lipstick and prefer to use a tinted Gloss on my Lips. That way you get some colour and a nice shine as well.
The packaging for this is alright. It stands a bit taller than other Glosses that I have used and although you can still pop this into your pocket if you wanted it isn't quite as compact to carry around. The wand for this is quite long, but still easy enough to apply this. There is a Foam applicator on the end of the wand and this allows you to slick the Gloss on easily enough. This comes in a few different shades. Not sure how many shades but there was at least 5 when I bought mine. Colours range from Browns to Pinks to Reds. The colours aren't bright, but a nice tinge that you can notice.
When you apply this it provides a nice shine and it's not sticky feeling either. I hate when some glosses are sticky and gloopy, and if you go out and it's windy then you are more than likely to get your Hair stuck to your Gloss. This is lightweight feeling enough and I don't feel the need to want to rub this off my Lips. The colour is noticible but not bright. I find that after applying this the colour and shine lasts a good few hours even after eating and drinking. It does seem to fade but there isn't much difference in the colouring. The shine from this is a nice even sheen and not far too glossy looking.
I would reach for this brand again as it makes my lips look nice and shiny with a hint of colouring.
I'm a self confessed lipglossaholic, I absolutely love them, I can't resist them, and have at least 40 in my make up draw. I think that this gloss is perfect for a night out and would definitely recommend it! It comes in very fun, vibrant colours, that are defiantly a lot more fun than they are conventional.
It has a really nice smooth texture which makes your lips feel slightly moisturised, unlike many which can be sticky and which can make your lips uncomfortable.
I love the colours which come in this range, and they all have a certain sparkle about them, which makes the presence of the lipgloss much more noticeable, especially when you are in the sun, which causes the gloss to shine even more!
This lipgloss lasted me for around a month, and I used it quite a lot in that time, so it is excellent value for money because it is such good quality as well!
I love a good lip gloss, as it can make your lips appear pretty and attractive whilst providing you with a moist and silky feel. However, I often begrudge to pay over the odds for a lip gloss as my makeup costs me enough as it is. Priced at £7.69 (price may vary depending where you shop), this lip gloss is incredibly reasonable.
L'Oreal Glam Shine Diamant beautifully complements my skin tone - but it may pay to try to find one that matches yours should you find the results aren't very good. This product does exactly what it says, it makes me appear quite glam whilst giving my lips a stunning shine.
While many people choose to add lip gloss over their lipstick, I think it can be more sophisticated and elegant to sometimes just add the lip gloss directly to the lips. I often use this lip gloss when only wearing a little makeup as it allows me to feel feminine and gives me that extra confidence when out and about.
However, the downside of this product is that it doesn't stay on the lips very long, which often leads to reapplication. A more expensive lip gloss, such an Lancôme, usually lasts much longer.
However, if you don't want to pay out for an expensive lip gloss, then L'Oreal Glam shine is the perfect product. I am a big fan of L'Oreal products, as I believe they are reasonably priced and mostly effective. However, as they are not high end, I don't think a person should expect them to be as effective as a product which is priced over £10 to £15.
I love this product. Some people think lipglosses are all the same - they most certainly are not!
We have all at one time or another been guilty of seeing a cheap lipgloss in a really pretty shade and thinking - why not? Only to get it home and realise that it is gloppy, sticky and the 'glitter effect' it actual pieces of glitter, which is not a pleasant feeling on the lips.
I have tried a lot of lip glosses and have found that even some of the more exspensive brands aren't always comfortable or pleasant to wear.
When I saw this advertised I loved the look and all the colours looked really nice, but to be honest I thought it would be sticky and horrible on the lips. I ekpt debating with myself whether I should buy it or not and then finally decided when I saw it on offer in Boots.
I brought a pinky shade but had a lot of difficulty in deciding because they were all such nice colours.
When I got home I tried it and was very pleased and pleasantly surprised. The gloss is very sparkly and glossy, but it doesn't have that nasty gloppy thickness to it. It glides on the lips and does actually give a good depth of colour, which again can be difficult to find in a gloss.
I find it very comfortable to wear and easy to use. the wand is just the right size and shape and covers the lip very well. The tube is also a good shape and fits easily into a make up bag - some glosses are long like a pen and are difficult to fit in!
It doesn't last all day, but I never expect a gloss to. If you want a long wearing colour, you need a lip stain or long-wear lipstick. I have since brought many more shades and this is now my favourite gloss.
At around £6.50 each at their normal price I think they are good value for money and last quite a long time, so you wont need to keep re-purchasing all the time
I absolutely love lipglosses! I have two of these L´Oreal Glam Shine Diamant Lip Glosses, simply because I just love them. I have them in 165 Pink Carat and 167 Coral Carat.
I remember seeing adverts for this gloss absolutely everywhere and I can see why they spent all that money on advertising. This product is brilliant.
Each Glam Shine Diamant lip gloss comes in 6ml tube in the shape of an hour glass, which may be to present the female body perhaps. The lid is a metallic silver colour, which you can screw open and close. When you unscrew the lid, you see that the applicator is attached to the lid. The applicator is soft and in a long-ish shape, just exactly how you would excpect a lip gloss applicator to look like really.
Both of my glosses have a pearly texture to them and are both easy to apply. The wand allows a good amount of gloss onto your lips so your not left with ´wet` looking lips. When gliding the gloss over your lips, it instantly goes on without any stickiness or messing around, which is something I like.
Once the gloss is on, it gives an incredibly good shine and the colours are absolutely gorgeous. I chose Pink Carat and Coral Carat as they suit my skin tone and with the shine in these glosses, it gives an even more desired look.
I find that this gloss lasts really long once on and doesnt go sticky like alot of glosses I know. It stays on the way you put it on, instead of clumping in the corner of your mouth like some glosses can do. Whats more is that this gloss leaves your lips feeling moistured, soft and looking absolutely amazing.
With its small size, this gloss is quite easily ´hand bag size`, perfect for touching up your gloss when out. Overall I love almost everything about this gloss. It costs around £7.00 though, but I would say worth it. I know some glosses out there costing around £2.00 - £5.00 but they dont quite have the same effects of this gloss.
A good gloss to create seducing lips.
Loreal Glam Shine Diamant
This is actually one of my favourite lip glosses ever and I really think I am a little bit obsessed with it! I bought this ever such a long time ago when the first one came out and I took it on holiday and I think I wore it every single day and I kept topping it up because it was bright pink so it looked fab with a tan and my hair colour. But, when I got back to England, I still wanted more so I bought a few lovely colours, I only have one left now and this is the Diamant edition.
This is basically a lovely lip gloss that is made by Loreal. They do this in a number of different shades which means you can have one for every outfit! I love the shape and they way this bottle has been designed.
The bottle (seen above) is of a peculiar shape and follows a silver type theme. The wand is amazing. It is a little bit like a loop which is angled to get the right look on your lips with no smudging or anything like that which is absolutely great! This has a lip plumping effect and it does make them look very glamorous.
At the moment, I have 167 Coral Carat and that is absolutely lovely just to add a little colour and sparkle to your lips which makes you look one million dollars! I like this because it goes onto my lips very well, it does not leave clumps and it looks shiny smooth and sexy!
I bought this from Boots and I think it cost me around six pounds but you can buy it from supermarkets as well as other health and beauty stores!
The only thing that does annoy me with this lip gloss is the fact that all the writing on the bottle wears off and it starts to look tacky. I like my make up to look good too!
Overall, this is a brilliant product and with only one fault, this is one of the best!
I have a lot of L'Oreal cosmetics lurking in my drawer, some have been well used and others were an impulse buy that backfired.
The L'Oreal Glam Shine Diamant lip gloss was one of those that fell into the second category - not because the product is inferior in any way but I think it is definitely a cosmetic that is aimed at the younger end of the market.
The bottle is lovely, it is chic and elegant and the contents look very tantalising, the small glass bottle has a long silvery coloured cap which holds the wand.
Now when I first looked at the L'Oreal Diamant lip gloss it didn't look too sparkly, maybe the light in the chemists was masking the actual amount of `sparkle` that was inside of the bottle.
I just thought that I would like to try something different and ended up buying the Diamant lip gloss in a shade called Pink carat.
I paid just under £6 for my little bottle and as lip gloss prices go I thought that was top whack ( for my budget anyway!)
The L'Oreal Diamant lip gloss is not an everyday cosmetic, it is meant for evening wear.
The first thing I looked at was the wand, I have seen many oddly shaped wands but this had to be the best of the bunch !
The stem on the wand is quite long which helps a lot but then the tip of the wand is shaped like an upside down heart that has had the middle section removed. L'Oreal say that the shape of the wand is designed to make application easy. Sorry L'Oreal but I failed to see the point that you were trying to make, the hole in the middle of the wand seemed to complicate the whole issue.
I had put my normal layer of pink lipstick underneath and once a light layer of the L'oreal lip gloss went on top the colour was lovely. The pinky gloss certainly made the very best of my lips but when I looked in the mirror I felt very concious that the gloss contained a bit too much `sparkle` for someone of my age.
When the lip gloss is on your lips it feels very soft and slightly oily and the colour that shows on your lips is the exact colour that you see in the small bottle. That oily feeling soon dries and the gloss is not sticky.
The sparkly lip gloss feels very moisturising, it has a very light fragrance but next to no taste and
the sparkly bits in the lip gloss are so fine that they have practically `melted` into the gloss.
I loved it and if I had felt confident that it suited me then I would have gone out wearing it, I even tried to blot it with some tissue to calm the sparkly element down a bit but that didn't work either.
Lip glosses tend not to last too long and I would imagine that this one from L'Oreal would be no different but it only takes a couple of seconds to retouch lip gloss anyway.'
I thought that the high shine may form `crinkles` but it doesn't, it is quite happy to stay where you put it. I took my layer of shiny gloss off easily and replaced it with a layer of normal lip gloss ( minus sparkle).
Yes, I was a bit miffed that I had spent nearly £6 on a lip gloss that I wasn't going to use but then again it was my fault for looking at myself through rose tinted specs.
L'Oreal have created a great shimmery lip gloss that is filled with colour but in my opinion it is one that looks far better on much younger lips than mine.
I have just been on Ebay and noticed that the L'oreal Diamant lip gloss is on the site and it seems a bit cheaper, plus it comes in another three shades.
A four star product but one for the younger skin.
After the success of the original Glam Shine lipgloss range, and the 6 H Glam Shine, L'Oreal launched Glam Shine Diamant lip gloss this year which is promoted by Laetitia Casta.
There are eight shades to choose from, and keeping with the diamond theme each name ends in carat, so there is Ruby Carat, Pink Carat, Amber Carat, Coral Carat, Blush Carat, Energetic Carat (bright pink), Quartz Carat (neutral pink) and Nude Carat.
The Glam Shine range is well-known for its patented heart shaped wand which is supposed to give an easy one-sweep application.
The tube design is wider at the ends, the applicator part is silver and the part of the tube that contains the gloss is clear enabling the consumer to see the colour.
The gloss itself has main ingredients of pearl particles and Metashine silver (a strongly glittering metallic pigment consisting of metal coated glass flakes) providing the diamond shine. It has a non-sticky hydrating formula to make lips feel soft, smooth and moisturised.
Price - I bought mine on a 2 for £9.98 offer in Superdrug which is no longer available, but Boots are currently selling them for £4.84 each (plus points)
I chose Ruby Carat (164)and Pink Carat(165) because they looked colourful but still wearable for day.
I had reservations about buying a glittery gloss as I'd only tried economy brands before and they always felt gritty and irritating on my lips. I was pleased that I couldn't detect any 'bits' in the gloss at all when applied. It felt as smooth as regular gloss.
The applicator - I am confused that it's referred to as heart shaped because to me it looks like a candle flame shape, which looks nothing like a heart! I assume they thought it was more glamorous to call it heart shaped? Anyway I am pleased with how well it works, it gives enough gloss each time to coat my lips in one go (though I have quite big lips, some might need to wipe the excess of in the tube but that's not a big deal.)
The applicator is tilted at an angle making it easy to coat your lips, and it's flexible so it moves with you. I use the back of the brush for my bottom lip, and the front for the top lip. As the applicator tip is pointed it's useful for following the cupids bow and into the corners.
It really is the shiniest lipgloss I've ever owned, but maybe because the particles are so small it's still wearable for the day and really nice when teamed with subtle eye make-up. The shine also gives a plumping effect without the feeling that you've rubbed a chilli pepper on your mouth.
There is a lightly perfumed scent but I can't identify it. Watermelon maybe? Or a fruit acid face cream?! I can't put my finger on it, but it's not unpleasant.
The colours are representative of what you see in the tube. You can get a more intense colour by applying a lip primer first to mask your natural lip pigmentation. The Ruby is a nice soft natural red, not too bright or overpowering. The pink gloss is a light purplish pink, and the one that I prefer for day.
I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Glam Shine Diamant lipgloss to anyone as I have found both the formulation and the colours to be flattering and the gloss looks wearable for day and makes an even shinier impact at night!
New collection of lipgloss available in a number of shades /
