Lacura Lipstick
Why select from the Lacura range of lipsticks?
After reading Julia's (Graygirls) review I was very tempted to trial this one. The fact that Aldi is listed on the cruelty free websites was the final selling point and my mind was made up.
Made me smile!
Whilst in Aldi browsing the fine range of beauty products that are on offer I was impressed with the packaging - for the price range it is incredibly high quality. I couldn't believe that the product was going to be good with it being such a reasonable price. £1.99! It is a steal.
Un-box me and try me out...
The quality packaging was easily removed and as you would expect it offers all that you would want to know about the lipstick. I held the gun metal grey, bullet shaped creation in my palm. It is a good weight and so glossy. It certainly feels like an expensive beauty item.
I picked a lovely coral shade and could not wait to pop of the lid - easily done - and twist up the lipstick to see the consistency and shade. Simple and smooth to twist up and an adequate amount of the lipstick is revealed. For the price this is looking very good. But what is it like to wear?
Trial...
Over the course of four months I have been using the lipstick in rotation with others. It is applied with little effort. It feels creamy though not overly moist - just enough to maintain nourished lips and give a natural shimmer to the lip area. The coral colour is rich and one application of a couple of sweeps to the lips is enough to last a good while. After a couple of drinks I do need to re apply but to be honest it is a treat as I love the pampering that I get as it sweeps across the lips.
The lipstick has got to get full marks for economy. At the price of £1.99 if it only lasted a month I would be happy but that is not the case as I have been using it for 4 months in rotation and have over half of the stick left! I cannot quite believe it.
I have been very impressed by this lipstick. The quality of the product is comparable to high end lipsticks that I have trialled in example Too Faced. I like the consistency very much and it stays for an impressive duration - unless I'm eating oranges or things like that! It doesn't leak out from the lip line which is a bonus too.

Recommendation...
Absolutely yes. At an extremely competitive price this quality lipstick comes packaged to impress - it certainly did. Out of the package it reminds me of a large bullet and the gun metal colour is appealing. The goods which lie within - in coral for me - is gorgeous and when applied to the lips I feel really good. It really flatters my lips and it stays in place for a good amount of time before the need to reapply. It adds some moisture to the lips whilst not being overly greasy and a slight shimmer - I would say it offers a natural modest look. I'm really impressed with this one and will be buying more in the future. At an affordable price I could try all the shades!
