Advantages: Price and quality
Disadvantages: Lack of shade selection
Lacura is my ultimate budget beauty buy. It is from Aldi and nearly everything in the range is just as good as other high street brands and sometimes it is a lot better but it is also a lot cheaper so is great for those of us who are on a budget and looking to make our money stretch a little further.
The Lacura lipstick is fantastic and the fact that it only costs £1.99 is a bonus as I would happily pay more for it.
The packaging makes it look a lot nicer and more luxe than you would expect given the fact that it is so cheap.
I usually stock up on a few lippies when I am in Aldi as my local store is notorious for running out of stock and not replenishing for weeks at a time. The colour selection of the lipsticks on offer aren't all that great but there are always a few choose from. They tend to be much more everyday colours so if you are looking for something more unusual you would be better trying a brand that has a bigger selection.
I usually buy a pink and a brownish toned lipstick from Lacura as these are the two I like the best in the colour range.
The lipstick goes on really smoothly and it has a lovely creamy consistency. Once it is on my lips it doesn't look or feel dry but I do still like to put some Vaseline or lipbalm on top just to give it a bit more shine as it is very matt looking.
It lasts for ages on my lips and doesn't bleed and frankly the quality is so good for something so cheap. I would imagine that in a blind test that people would really struggle to know this was a budget lippy as it is so good and it is no different to better known ones. With some cheap lipsticks you can just tell that they are cheap as they feel horrible on the lips but this one doesn't.
I would happily give this 5 out of 5 as I really believe it is excellent. I would ideally like a choice of a few more shades but at £1.99 I really can't complain too much. I am not the worlds biggest fan of lipsticks and usually prefer glosses but sometimes I will decide I want something a bit less shiny and a bit more sophisticated and this fits the bill perfectly.
