I have a multitude of lipsticks because it is the one cosmetic item that I'm never without. One of the lipsticks I own is from the Lancome Colour Fever range. This cost me just £4.45 from Amazon, which included post and packaging - which I felt was a really good price for a great quality branded lipstick. I do think that these lipsticks are often much more expensive, but equally it seems like there are some really good offers around at the moment. I have to admit that I don't have that much experience with Lancome and so I wasn't too sure on what the quality would be like, but I have to say that I have been pretty impressed.
There are a range of colours - and a really good range of colours with subtle shade differences. The shade I picked out was called "Boiling Point" which is a red lipstick which is just one shade off of the brightest red and it's certainly not a colour you'd wear if you want to blend into the background! There are other shades I am planning to buy in the near future because I really like this range and the options available - not to mention the price!
The lipstick comes in a traditional lipstick tube which was pretty uninspiring but also looks perfectly professional and high quality. The lipstick is twirled up and down in the traditional format and so it's easy to apply.
The colour that comes out onto my lips is very rich and creamy and just gives such a luxurious feel and look. I really love the way that the lipstick has so much depth and reflects the light but that it does this without being shiny. It doesn't bleed and the colour stays solid. The last ability is also pretty great - and it lasts for about four hours before I need to reapply it - which is pretty good going. I also love how it leaves my lips so moisturised and feeling healthy.
Overall, I really like this lipstick and can't see any reason not to recommend it.
Lancome Colour Fever Lipstick comes in many shades from a deep red to a very light pink, I bought mine at Boots and it cost me £17,which may sound a lot for a lipstick, but its not very often i wear make-up and having a wedding to attend I thought it was time I invested in a lipstick to match my outfit and look presentable.
You can choose from thirty two different shades and I chose the beige everyday which is a very light pink and will blend nicely with my skin tone. its important to choose your lipstick to match your skin tone otherwise you may end up looking shockingly like a lady of the night, with lips that stand out to much and don't match your attire.
The kind of lipstick also varies in type from shimmering lipstick for that glossy wet look to the metalic look or the creams which are more for a subtle look as I like to look like I am not wearing a lot of make-up, due to the fact that I don't wear it everyday and feel subconcious when I do put it on, so to avoid this I use a cream lipstick which isn't too dramatic a look.
I like the choices and the colour range of this lipstick, it is a very well known brand and is a quality product in the make-up depeartment. Even though the price may sound a lot, it will last me months as i don't wear it often, keeping the lid on properly will ensure it doesn't dry up. the lid pulls off and twist the bottom of the lipstick to apply. A small amount applied onto the lips and rubbed in with the little finger will give a fresh, natural look.
The lipstick last for quite a while but using too much will leave a mark on cups and glasses if you are drinking with the lipstick on. A little applied correctly won't show on cups and drinks. be careful not to get lipstick on clothes as it can be a nightmare to get out.
It advertises a Supple, glide-on, silky shine thanks to the formula's 3 oils and moisturising action. For soft, comfortable lips that dazzle with beauty.
I think it lives up to its advertisement, if your looking for a good lipstick that lasts for a few hours without having to apply again then this is a good option.
have fun x
One of my favourite looks is classic red lips, so I looked around for a good quality red lip colour in the perfect shade. Lancome Colour Fever came highly recommended on a top 5 list on the Cosmo website, so after finding it for a very cheap price on eBay, I decided to give it a go.
The lipstick comes in a bright red tube, which looks very glamorous. However, I was annoyed that after a few months, the coloured coating started to come off the tube, eventually with a lot of the colour having peeled away. I expect better quality packaging from a brand like Lancome. Fortunately, this is not an indication of the quality of the lipstick itself.
Because the coating has worn off the tube, I do not know the name of the shade, but it is the most gorgeous vibrant red. For my pale skin and red hair, it is the ultimate shade of red. It goes on very smoothly, and can give a dramatic or more natural effect depending on whether you apply it directly onto the lips, or dab a little on with a finger. Its staying power is pretty impressive. All in all, it's the best lipstick I've used.
Until about a year ago I didn't really wear lipstick- I was more of a gloss girl. I tried it once and have never looked back! I started with a benefit lipstick but it didn't last long enough and melted off really quickly whilst having my morning tea. I then went for a Mac lipstick - Frost I think. I thought I had found "the one" until I went on holiday and found no Mac in duty free. I walked around with my seriously depleted Mac trying to find a good colour match and ended up with Lancome Colour Fever in Rising Rose. I went immediately to the airport toilets (having paid for my products of course) and was amazed at how smoothly it went on. It felt really nice and creamy. I hadn't realised until then that my previous ones hadn't been that way! It felt smooth on my lips and the colour was great. I always put a little bit of gloss over lipstick (clinique long last glosswear SPF15) but it looked great even without that. Best of all it lasts for a long time. I apply in the morning and then again after lunch - it survives through numerous cups of tea and a fair few biscuits in the morning but can't make it through lunch. It keeps my lips nicely moisturised too.
This is without a doubt the best lipstick I've ever had. I love the way it feels, I love how it lasts so well and how smoothly it is applied.
The packaging is great too - with two silver sides and two transparant ones.
I'm not sure how much I paid but looking online it looks to be about £17,50 which isn't the cheapest but I tend to think you get what you pay for with make up and I will definitely be getting this again - this really is THE ONE!
I must confess, I am a bit of a lipstick fiend. It was the first makeup item I ever tried and is the one item I would choose if I was forced at gunpoint to choose only one to wear for the rest of my life (I'm not sure quite what kind of strange gunman would demand this, but you get the picture!) When it comes to my lipsticks I like them to be bright and bold and Lancome's Colour Fever range has the perfect selection of the bold and the beautiful when it comes to bright colours.
I went for 318 Rock Icon Fuschia, which is a hotter than hot pink with a lavender/blue tone to it and I completely fell in love with the colour. As the name would suggest, it's dramatic, glamorous and demands attention. Not one for the wallflowers! From what I've seen, this hot pink is THE Lancome colour for their Pink Irreverence Spring 2009 selection and I'm loving it - it works really well with my olive skin (which goes quite pale in winter) and brightens up my entire complexion, with the colour going onto the lips easily and looking really intense. There are lots of other shades available and generally all of the colours in this range are very dramatic and 'out there'. It contains light reflecting particles which give a reflective finish and a glam edge - I like my red lippies to be matte, but my pinks to be more creamy and this slight shine is perfect and makes it a bit more modern and exciting and generally gives the 'Rock Icon' feel that a matte finish would not give. If I want more shine with this, it's easy to apply a slick of gloss over the top of it to glam it up even more!
What I normally find with lipsticks that are a very bold, highly pigmented colour, is that they are very drying on the lips, but this one has a fabulously creamy texture and almost melts onto the lips. It doesn't smudge or feather once applied and it has reasonable staying power, lasting for me about 3-4 hours before it needs touching and will last much longer if you're happy with it not looking quite as freshly applied. Most importantly, because it is nice and moisturising on the lips and so the colour stays true rather than fading or flaking off on your lips.
The packaging is really cute - a silver tube with two coloured transparent sides, the colour of which matches the lipstick. Very glamorous but modern and fun at the same time. It has the traditional 'lipstick' smell which I always love in a lippy as it gives me a sense of nostalgia, reminding me of raiding my Mum's makeup drawer when I was a kid.
I bought this for £16.66 in Debenhems - make sure you shop around and don't go for what looks like a bargain, especially with online stores, as I've seen these in 'discount' online stores priced at £18!
