      Advantages

      Disadvantages

A moisturising creamy lipgloss for extra volume.

I bought this lip gloss without too much thought because of its fabulous colour! I was travelling from Manchester to Greece and I was wondering around the departure lounge waiting for my gate to be announced. Biza Duty Free is the store that I always visit first to buy gifts for my family and friends. It has great prices and offers, especially in signature perfumes and cosmetics. That day it was offering a discount in the new Lancôme collection and I thought it was a good idea to buy a present for myself as well.

I selected the "Caprice" lipgloss (132) from the Lancôme L'Absolu Crème De Brillance product line for lips. The colour is sheer red and the gloss includes a "magic formula" that promises long-lasting colour, extra moisture and supreme volume to the lips.

      - THE PRODUCT
The description says it is a cream-lipgloss which means that it's less liquid and sticky than a normal lipgloss, with creamy and smooth texture. Therefore, it is more than a usual lip-gloss as it offers lip treatment and moisture, and long-lasting colour.

      -The formula
The gloss is enriched with a high concentration of Pro-XylaneTM and other caring active ingredients like hyaluronic acid. Pro-XylaneTM is an innovative ingredient used for the first time in lip products with powerful anti-aging properties. Containing Glycerin and Moisture Fix Complex it keeps the lips hydrated for up to 10 hours by forming an invisible film that prevents water from evaporating.

      - MY EXPERIENCE
For some reason I am often impressed by colours that I would rarely include in my everyday make-up. I prefer my look to be simple and natural and I only wear this gloss in special occasions due to the bright colour.
Caprice shade is shiny red with distinctive gold pearls that diffuse the light and increase the colour intensity. I was expecting the colour to be less rich and more glossy, but it is actually creamy and has exactly the same intensity on my lips, as in the tube.

I apply it directly or in combination with a red lipstick to add more light, shininess and durability. Lancôme experts say that the correct application should start from the middle of the upper lip to the outer corner and from the outer corner of the lower lip to the centre.
With L'Absolu lipgloss my lips look fuller with an elegant non-sticky shine. I have naturally full lips and I am not so much concerned about adding volume but this lipgloss does offer the extra volume effect that it has promised.

If you prefer to use lipsticks more than glosses you might like this product for its texture, as it is something between the two. It is more creamy than a regular lipgloss and gives an elegant shine to the all-time classic lipstick. Therefore, it can be applied over the lipstick at the middle of the lips as a second thin layer. Because of the creamy texture you won't feel like you are wearing a regular gloss and you will get more juicy and rich lips.

It doesn't last for 10 hours but it is super moisturising for my lips. After 2-3 hours, the glossiness fades and then the colour remains for a bit more. The lasting power is more than regular lip glosses but I am considering it as a disadvantage for this product based on the up-to-10-hours promise.
There is a light sweet fragrance but not so intense, it smells like a rose to me.

The applicator brush is slightly curved at the end for easier application. It is designed to fit the shape of the lips and helps you create it precisely.

      - PACKAGING
The box is light grey with the Lancôme rose imprinted in the front.
The product comes in a 6 ml/0.21 OZ transparent tube with rounded edges and a black top, beautifully decorated with the luxurious gold Lancôme rose. Through the bottle you can see the exact colour of the gloss.

      - AVAILABILITY AND PRICE
This product is made in France and it is available in 9 shades to choose which one suits you best:

Rose Nature - Light Pinkish beige
Rose Empire - Bright medium pink with shimmer. The shade is almost opaque when it's applied
Rouge Rayonnant - dark pink tone

Caprice - Bright cherry red with gold shimmer for juicy lips. The shimmer is less noticeable in this shade.
