      Advantages

      Disadvantages

      Excellent but expensive

I really like Lancome as a brand and find the majority of their make-up to be really good especially their juicy tubes which are probably my all-time favourite product.
I would not normally spend a lot of money on an eyeliner as I personally think that there is no need as several of the budget brands do really good ones but I was at the Lancome counter and I saw the Khol crayon and seen that it came in a gorgeous blue/turquoise colour that looked different from all the other blue eyeliners that I had seen previously.

I decided to treat myself to it and paid £18 for it. When I got it home and used it I was extremely happy with it and genuinely have no complaints about it except the price which I still think is excessive for an eyeliner.

The actual khol is a lovely texture and neither too soft nor too hard and it just glides on my lash line with no problems and I don't need to put loads of pressure on it to get a nice line of colour. The definition it gives it excellent and it really helps open my eyes up and makes them appear larger and more awake.

Staying power is also excellent and it lasts until I decide to remove it. Eye make-up remover takes it off quickly and simply.
My eyes can be sensitive and some make-up products can really irritate my eyes but with this one I have never had any itchiness or soreness when using it.

I really like the khol liner and would highly recommend it. I like it so much that I would like to be able to use it more often but because it is so expensive I try instead to keep it as a good one and only use it if I am going anywhere special.

      Advantages

      Disadvantages

      not worth it

I'm a huge fan of pencil eye liners and constantly trying out new ones. I purchased the mini version of this eye liner for 99p on eBay. You get 0.7g of product. I thought I was going to love it because Lancome is one of my favourite make up brands but I was really disappointed.

The packaging is really simple and sleek. The short pencil comes with a handy gold lid to keep it from drying out. The tip of the pencil is also really pointy and sharp, so it is good if you want to draw a really precise line on your eye lid.

The eye-liner glides on pretty smoothly on my waterline so there isn't much need to pull on the skin. However this eye liner is really smudgy but that is to be expected as it is a 'kohl'. After applying it to my tight line and blinking it would be transferred to my waterline. This is good if you want a smoky look.

The eye liner also came off really easily. It only lasted about an hour before it transfered on my lash line and made my eye make up seem very messy.

The eye liner is very creamy so it needs to be sharpened often. I found that the pencil snapped so it was very difficult to sharpen. I just gave up on this pencil because it became too small from all the sharpening and it became very difficult to use.

The full size version is very expensive at £15.30. I would not pay that much for this eyeliner as it just doesnt last on my waterline and too much product is wasted when it is sharpened.

      Advantages

      Disadvantages

      Amazing

I have a gigantic eyeliner collection but I can't seem to help myself from buying more, lol. I love experimenting with my eye makeup and eyeliner can really help alter my whole kind of 'look'. I especially like kohl eyeliners as they're so soft and look great, and I got this one earlier in the month with the leftovers of my birthday money, as it's something i've bein wanting to try for ages. I hadn't bought it before as I couldn't justify the price when I had more important stuff to buy and bills to pay, however I do have to say that i'm in love with it already and it's well worth the price! I got mine from Debenhams but it's also available from Harrods and multiple online stores and ofcourse the official Lancome website. I've also seen a few on eBay in the past however i'm warey of fakes so avoided buying mine from there. I paid £15.50 which as I said before is a price hard to justify for an eyeliner but i've said it before and i'll say it again, it is worth every penny, the quality is flawless! Don't let the price put you off, it is not just another gimmicky product, it actually is amazing. Prices do vary and the lowest i've seen it available for is £13. The pencil itself is very sleek and professional looking. I know it sounds silly but you can really tell just from looking at it that it is of high quality, because it's so luxurious looking. It's very minimalistic and is just black with Lancome Paris written on it in fancy golden writing. I know it doesn't really sound like anything special but I think it looks so professional and I make sure that I keep it safe in my makeup bag so it doesn't get ruined. The nib of the pencil is protected by a sturdy plastic lid which is golden in colour so adds to the whole 'posh' kind of look. The pencil weighs in at 1.8 grams meaning you get little product for your money, however I assure you it does last and mine has barely gone down even with daily use for the past 2 weeks straight. The pencil is long and thin and is very lightweight meaning you don't have to faff about with a great big chunky pencil, it's almost like the type of pencil you would use for sketching if you know what I mean, very elegant and precise. Although it is thin, it's easy to get a good grip of and it's not flimsy at all. The pencil is made of a sturdy wood just as any other pencil is, and it has a very smooth and polished feel to it.

The colours available for this eyeliner are quite generous, as I often find that high quality, expensive eyeliners only have a range of 2-3 different shades. This particular pencil can be found in 6 shades, which are noir (navy blue), strass (black), silver, gris bleu (light blue with a grey tint), bronze and brun (brown). As you can see the name of each shade is French, which reflects that this is a Lancome product - Lancome is a French company. I have this pencil in 'Strass' - an intense black which looks to be the blackest of the black. I got this colour as I prefer black eyeliner, it brings my face to life if that makes sense and really finishes off my makeup, making my eyes look bigger and bolder. This pencil is amazingly pigmented, you can tell just by looking at the nib. Once it's on my skin it looks just as pigmented as it did before which I think is great as the pigmentation on the nib is usually much deeper and prominant then the eyeliner actually is when on the skin. Applying this pencil is easy and effortless, the nib is pointed but very soft so you don't need to worry about been extra careful, the formula is soft and creamy and so glides onto the skin with ease, I usually apply mine onto my waterline, underneath my eyelid and my lashline. I usually have trouble applying eyeliner to my lashline and underneath my eyelid as it can be tricky with hard formula eyeliners however this stuff just glides on so easily and looks amazing. I love that although this is a kohl eyeliner, it doesn't smudge anywhere near as much as my other kohl eyeliners and therefor it is much more versatile for different looks such as cat eyes - it is definetly precise enough for this and it's long lasting. The eyeliner will only smudge if you deliberately smudge it with your finger or a smudging brush for a sexy smoky eye. Unfortunetly this eyeliner doesn't come with its own smudger, which is a let down considering the price but it's not a total disaster and I just use my other eyeliner's smudging brush to smudge it. Even with a smudger it barely smudges and so if you want a panda eye then this isn't a great option as it'll take time. I find if I dampen by blending brush/smudger though that it seems to blend better.

The eyeliner lasts for absolutely ages. I usually apply mine at around 7am and by time I get home at around 5.30pm it looks pretty much as it did when I first applied it. I wear mine to Uni as although it does make my eyes look very bold, it still looks very professional and neat if that makes sense. For nights out I like to mess it up a bit and apply a thick layer by building it up with 4-5 layers, it looks amazing and because of the creamy formula can act as a base for eyeshadow pigments. I usually team this eyeliner with a thick coat of mascara and false eyelashes for nights out and it looks amazing, most eyeliners look quite subtle when matched with false eyelashes however this really stands out and it lasts throughout the day/night without bleeding or smudging at all. It is also easy to remove, this can be achieved with a couple of makeup wipes - it's not the kind of eyeliner that refuses to come off. As far as I am aware, this is not waterproof, however it doesn't budge when I sneeze/my eyes water so it's not the type of eyeliner that bleeds or smudges even when there's a tiny bit of moisture. I really love this eyeliner and although it was expensive I think it was well worth what I paid. It is long lasting, extremely pigmented - it provides an amazing look, and it is also very versatile and can be built up for a variety of different looks. Reccomended!

        Advantages

        Disadvantages

        Well worth the investment.

        About Lancome:
It was founded in 1935 by Armand Petitjean and his aim for his brand was basic to deliver the beauty and elegance of France through his products. Owned by Loreal since 1964 it is one of the higher end make up brands to buy.

        The Eye pencil:
Although I will be the first to admit they are quite expensive at about £15.00 per eye pencil so walking out of the shop you can feel a little bit cheated but the quality you get is remarkable, they are certainly the only pencils I buy and not to mention they last absolutely ages the first one I bought is still going strong after 3 years. I've also had the same black pencil for about 2 years now with no sign of giving up yet and believe you me it's been used for everything, so in my opinion it's well worth the investment.

        Why I like it:
I have a lot of different colours but my favourite is the black as it creates a lovely dark smoky shade and it's very durable with mine normally lasting all day with maybe one if I'm lucky top up to freshen up my look. It is also great at blending and changing your eyes into a sultry smoking look or teaming with other colours to finish off your make up. I think the only downside I have with these pencils is that they don't sharpen very well as they tend to snap when doing it but that may just be the quality of my pencil sharpener. The lucky thing is though is that you don't have to sharpen them very often which is always a bonus.
If your looking for a black eye liner look no further in my opinion you've found a winner here but for the price it can take a little talking into first.

        Advantages

        Disadvantages

        ideal for my peepers

Lancome is a premium beauty company offering skincare. makeup and fragrances. The company is French and can be identified by a Rose symbol adorning the products.

        *~*~*Lancome Peepers*~*~*

Lancome offer quite a collection of eye make up products including eye liners, mascaras, eyeshadows and also brow pencils. There are currently 3 various pencil eyeliners and a liquid eyeliner to choose from. One of the pencil eyeliners is named Le Crayon Khol.

This eyeliner pencil is designed for both use above the eyelash line and below dependant on your preference. It offers you the option to outline or redefine the shape of your eyes to create a desired effect and it is created with strong colour pigments. The pencil itself is created using anhydrous paste blended with micas and colour pigments.

It is also worth noting that with any eyeliner or mascara, they should be disgarded after 6months of use..this is for hygene purposes.

        *~*~*Shades*~*~*

This eyeliner is available in 15 different shades. Each colour is offered in French with a 3 digit code next to it. There is plenty of choice with black, brown, green, various shades of blue and also white and purple shades. There is definently a shade to suit most but nothing wacky or too vibrant.

        *~*~*Design*~*~*

The eyeliner is contained within a long, thin pencil. The black eyeliners pencil is black with gold writing confirming its colour, type of pencil etc. A thin, gold lid clicks onto the top of the pencil and underneath, the tip of the pencil is quite thick at the base with a thin nib.

        *~*~*Availability and Price*~*~*

Lancome products are available online through www.lancome.co.uk. They can also be found in department stores at special Lancome counters. This eyeliner is available for around the £15.00 mark for 1.8g. It is worth checking out ebay for the smaller 0.7g eyeliners.

        *~*~*My Experience*~*~*

I have always thought of my eyes as my best feature and I like makeup so try to make the most of my blue eyes by emphasising them with strong, bold colours. I became familiar with Lancome a few years ago. As you may know, I purchase lots of high end makeup on ebay with the intention of selling it on. I usually keep some bits for myself as it allows me to try out products which are considered out of my price range!

If you do like Lancome or fancy trying it out, I recommend purchasing some of the sample sizes from ebay as you can obtain a considerable discount on the full size products. Department stores regularly offer a huge goodie bag of samples with any 2 purchases and until the end of February, Boots have this offer on. Not only will you get your full sizes but also a mixture of sample sizes and advantage card points!

I received a 0.7g Le Crayon Khol in shade Noir, a few months ago in one of my lots. I normally stick to No7 eyeliners but have also tried Clarins, Estee Lauder and Maxfactor so have mixed experiences from very differently priced eyeliners. My Lancome pencil is identical to the full size version but not as long as there is less eyeliner within it. It is well presented and appears high quality.

        *~*~*Pretty Peepers*~*~*

I apply my eyeliner after my face powder and blush but before my eyeshadow and mascara. I have quite shaky hands so I always need a steady surface to rest my elbow on and a large, clear mirror to see what I am doing! I also need a reasonable amount of light but nothing harsh. I prefer black eyeliners for a sultry, sexy look and white eyeliners for when I want my eyes bright and awake. I wear eyeliner a few times a week and how heavy I apply it, depends on what look I am trying to achieve at the time.

The nib of the eyeliner starts off quite pointy but doesn't look like it is going to do damage if you accidently stab yourself or someone else with it! The black is deep and strong in colour and the eyeliner feels smooth but not mushy. If I am trying to achieve a natural, day time look, I go easy with the application. I only ever apply eyeliner pencils to the lower part of my eye as I cannot get the precision anywhere else.

Relaxing my elbow on the surface, I get to work. I place the nib of the pencil in the middle of my waterline and the eyeliner sweeps along with complete ease. Unlike with some cheaper alternatives, this eyeliner doesn't drag and feels ultra creamy and rich with a soft but sufficient application. The middle of my waterline is where my eyes tend to water so I always ensure extra eyeliner is added there before sweeping inwards and then out to the side. I apply the eyeliner right out to the edge and it feels gentle on this tender part of my eye.

The colour achieved by light application is impressive. It is strong and very noticeable and I only need one sweep across each side to provide a really good colour on my eyes. If I want to go for a more intense look, I apply a few sweeps across each eye and the colour builds up perfectly offering a bold, sultry black look. The eyeliner is also ideal for adding a little flick at the corner of each eye adding something more fun. The black colour sits beautifully against my blue eyes and teamed with a swish of mascara and a light wash of eyeshadow, I can achieve an evening look to go with any outfit I choose to wear.

        *~*~*Lancome Lasts The Night*~*~*

Whether I only apply a light sweep or something heavier, this Lancome eyeliner lasts extremely well. I can apply in the morning and it is intact and still as smooth and apparent later in the day. With a stronger colour for evening use, it remains intense and bold through the night. I use cleansing wipes on my eye makeup and this removes with very little rubbing which is ideal for my sensitive eyes. The eyeliner doesn't fade away during its time on my eyes and I am happy with how long it lasts.

        *~*~*Recommendation*~*~*

Whilst my No7 eyeliner is more than half the price and contains a smudger, I really like this Lancome one. The small version is so easy to hold and work around my eyes and the choice of colours is ideal. The eyeliner provides best results when it has been sharpened well and I do this with a normal, eyeliner sharpener til the tip is a little pointy. Despite using for a few months now, the pencil has barely reduced in size but I will replace it after the 6months as I don't want to catch any nasty eye infections!

A waterproof version of this eyeliner is available though I have experienced no running with the normal one.

I recommend this eyeliner and thank you for reading my review x

          Advantages

          Disadvantages

Not a great product - I don't think I will be getting this again :(

          Lancome le crayon Khol

I am a big fan of pencil eyeliners and I have tried so many eyeliners and so many brands as well. I thing that I have found when buying make up/cosmetics and skin care items is that more expensive brands may not be as good as they claim to be.

I like the Lancome brand and they are very high quality and the packaging for their products is so nice and sleek and expensive looking... probably because their products are sometimes expensive, but anyway... I am not really liking this product so much unfortunately.

I have the mini 0.7g version of this product which came in a set that i got wih other items like last christmas and I thought it was going to be like the best eyeliner ever but it was not.

Firstly it has a really nice texture and it applies so easily to my waterline and also on my eyelid which is really good as with some eyeliners that I have tried it is quite difficult to get a strong defined line of colour but with this it is no problem at all.

But it does not stay long on my waterline at all. When I apply it to just my top waterline the eyeliner can leave traces on my bottom waterline - like an imprint of where it put it, which is not good (and I don't get this with my loreal or rimmel khol pencils). But it does stay for most of the day on my eyelids - good for a smoky eyes but not good on my waterline!

I got it in a set so I didn't buy it on its own but on the lancome site it is £15 for the normal size version and they also come in loads of different colours such as plum, grey, silver, bronze, blue, brown, teal and the noir one that I have.

          Conclusions
          Good points
          *Good high quality french brand
          *Nice sleek expensive looking packaging
*Applies really easily to the lid and waterline
*Creates a really strong defined line of colour
          *Lots of different colours available
          *Easy to take off
*Stays on my eyelids for quite a few hours - but not all day

          Bad points
*Does not stay on my waterline at all
*Smudges easily - good for a smoky eye only if you want that though
*Expensive - £15 each for the normal size version
*Does not last all day on my waterline or on my lid
