I have a Lancome vernis in love polish, in fact it is no 71 - a silver nail varnish called etincelle d'argent which means spark money in translation.
Lancome is a brand I have not ventured far in to in the beauty world. It's a counter I float past as there is not much draw. I used to love their Juicy Tube lip glosses until the wind and hair told me they were too sticky and I gave up on them#
I spotted this pretty silver sparkly nail varnish in a swap pile and decided it was for me. I immediately tried it when the lady I swapped with sent it (it was new and full). I already had two day old manicure that was wearing well in grey so I added this as a top coat.
This applies like a dream. One coat and you have full coverage and it dries in seconds. It has a textured finish to it, a little rough (but not enough to bother me) a bit like the liquid sand OPI feature. It dries to a matte like finish but then it still has a sparkle to it so it really contradicts itself in every light!
Expect to pay around £13 for this polish. They are smallish bottles at 6ml but at one coat it will go further than thinner polishes.
I love this polish and it's been on six days now! It is a bit hard to remove, but textures and glitter often are so that is to be expected.
~*~*~ Lancôme Vernis in Love ~*~*~
My favourite cosmetic brand has got to be Lancome. They are a high-end brand, which offers fantastic products which are very high quality. I would like to say that my make-up bag is full of lovely, Lancome goodies but unfortunately I do not always have the money to splash out on their products, as they are quite expensive. Even though Lancome products are expensive, they are always well worth the money. I am pleased to say that I have never been disappointed from anything that I have purchased from their range and when I do ever get the chance to treat myself I always opt for something from Lancome. The main reasons I love Lancome so much is because their products are fantastic, they are easy to use and they normally come in gorgeous, sophisticated packaging.
I came across this nail polish when I was looking at the Rouge In Love lipstick. This polish is from the same range, and as I was given the lipstick as a birthday gift I thought I would buy the polish to go with my new lippy. The colour I purchased was called Rouge In Love (112B). Please see below for my thoughts on this product.
~*~*~ What Is It? ~*~*~
This is a nail polish by Lancome, which comes in 24 different colours. The colours range from bold to pastel shades. The nail polish comes in a clear, glass bottle with a black, plastic, screw-top lid. On the front of the bottle is a small, silver coloured rose and on the top of the lid is an imprint of a rose (Lancome's logo). This nail polish comes in a silver coloured, cardboard box. On the front of the box is the Lancome name and logo (rose), products name (Vernis in Love), colour number (112B), how much the bottle holds (6ml) and information about the polish (Fade Resistant, Gloss Shine).
To apply, you simply unscrew the lid, which the applicator brush is attached to, and apply the polish to the nails. This product has an 'exclusive brush' which has a grooved stem to allow polish to flow directly to the centre, for a single stroke application. This product claims to have 'express-dry solvent' to speed up drying time and 'long wear formula' which provides a film to protect colour.

~*~*~ My Thoughts ~*~*~
I ordered my nail polish from the Boots website, and it took around 3 days to be delivered. As soon as it was posted through my letter box I could not wait to use it. The packaging, which the nail polish comes in, looks very simple and sophisticated. The box which it came in, was a nice silver colour and the product overall looked more expensive than it actually was. I think all Lancome products look classy and girlie, and this one is no exception.
The colour I purchased, as mentioned above, is called Rouge in Love. The colour is a bright, bold red, which is incredibly eye catching and luscious. The colour is an identical to the Rouge In Love lipstick I own, which was a massive plus. The bottle and lid is square-shaped, which I found unusual as most nail polish seem to be round, and because it is square this made it easier to grip the lid. This lid fits very comfortably between my fingers which made it easy to maneuver the brush.
The brush itself is quite wide and flat. Once you place it in the centre of your nail, the bristles reach every inch of the nail. Lancome state that only one stroke is required and if you are a whizz at painting nails then this is probably true, however I need to use two strokes to get full coverage. The polish glides on smoothly, leaving no lumps or bumps. It dries relatively quickly, I blow on my nails for a minute or two before it is completely dry. This polish requires two coats to get the full effect of the colour. I always use a base coat and a top coat to make the polish last longer. Once the second coat has dried the colour is very bold and the polish is incredibly shiny. The nails feel smooth to the touch and there is no mess around the nails due to the brush being so precise.
In terms of durability this nail varnish is long lasting. I can wear his polish for 6 or 7 days before I need to redo them. The nail polish does not chip easily, which is a plus! There is nothing worse than painting your nails and two minutes later they start to chip. The polish started chipping around 3 or 4 days after application, but they were still presentable as it was only small chips around the edge of the nail. This polish is easy to remove with nail polish remover and the smell is not too overpowering.
Overall I really like this nail polish. It is one of the best brushes I have used and the final colour on the nails is stunning. The only down side with this polish is the amount that the bottle holds, 6 ml is very small compared to other brands and it is also quite pricey.
~*~*~ Would I Recommend? ~*~*~
This is a lovely nail varnish which is easy to apply and long lasting. I had high hopes from this polish and it didn't disappoint. I would buy this nail polish again, however it won't be on a regular basis due to the cost. I am going to give this polish 4 out of 5 Dooyoo stars. The reason I am dropping a star is because the size of the bottle and the cost.
Thank you for taking the time to read my review :)
