This foundation is very expensive, I bought it for £36.50. After an extensive skin-tone test the saleswoman sold me this product. I was excited to use it as I thought that for the price, it would be excellent.
So I got home, and the next day in the morning I applied the foundation. I used my fingers, but I think it would work with a brush, it was quite difficult to rub in, and when I had, it was too dark! It looked quite patchy, and I had a really bad foundation line, yet it was still the lightest shade! So I ended up having to mix it in with foundation. It was oil free, and it didn't clog up my pores. But it just didn't look natural! It was so obvious that I'd put makeup on, it didn't make me feel confident.
The packaging is quite boring, and doesn't really 'sell' the product. I like simplistic packaging, but this is taking it a bit far.
I was disappointed with this product and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone with pale skin at all. It is also very expensive and I don't think it's worth the money I spent on it. It's a shame really, because Laura Mercier products are usually really nice.
Name of the product I will be reviewing: "Laura Mercier Oil Free Foundation"
- Price -
I paid £37 for this product, a lot of people would find this a very expensive price to pay for one make-up product but this product makes my skin look like it never has done before, this product is targeted at the older market but I bought it has I heard such great reviews about it, my auntie who is 65 uses this product as well and she says she couldn't live without it and it defiantly makes her look years younger.
- Shades available -
There are 9 shades in this particular foundation, I think it's good for a foundation product to have more than 5 shades on offer has there is more chance of getting the perfect colour for your skin tone if there's a wider selection on offer.

- What the manufacturers say / what the product offers-
The ultra-firming and nourishing effects visible day after day : wrinkles are reduced, skin is plumped up firmed and radiant (according to, respectively, 100% and 83% of the women that have tested it*). Complexion is incredibly smooth, glowing with a youthful radiance.
Its formula is composed of ultra-effective issima active ingredients:

- My experience -
~ Packaging ~
I love the packaging of this product, it's in a elegant glass bottle with a gold lid, I prefer the packaging of this foundation then my other foundations which are in tube as it's so much easier to put in my make-up bag then a long tubed foundation.
~ Application ~
I personally prefer to use a sponge or foundation brush when I apply foundation, for this product I use a sponge.
I wipe the sponge onto the creamy foundation and then apply directly to my face. However, this is not as easy as it sounds as it's easy to apply unevenly, particularly around the eyes, mouth and nostrils, so make sure you check your work before doing the rest of your makeup.
~ The Look ~
I absolutely love the outcome of this product, and so does my auntie.
I feel like I'm not wearing any make-up when I have this product on because it's so soft.
It has incredibly good staying power, after a full day from 8am till 9pm my make-up still looked good!
Most foundations I have tried out in the past look bad after a few hours but this product really does look as good as when I first apply it.
My auntie said the exact same thing she came home from work expecting the product to of come off, but it was still there and it still looked great.
It is very clearly a hydrating foundation as my once flaky skin looked moisturised again!
- My Verdict -
I love this product, and I would recommend this product even though it's targeted at an older audience to anyone, mainly because it has such great staying power and makes any skin type look truly amazing.
For the older people wanting to buy this product, I can assure you it does look great, my auntie wouldn't use any other foundation than this product now; she thinks it's great and I must admit she looks great wearing it.
