Advantages: Makes my lipstick last longer

Disadvantages: Doesn't work on all lipsticks

In the day I'm not bothered how long my lipsticks stays put but when I'm off on a night out I want it to last as long as possible to save me elbowing my way to the toilets every half an hour to check my lippy is still looking good. I've been using Lipcote for years and it might not be the trendiest thing in my make up bag but it works most of the time and is easy to use so I'll carry on buying it for as long as they make it.

Lipcote is a lipstick sealer that you paint on with a small brush that's inside the actual tube of Lipcote like a nail varnish. It's clear and depending on what colour lipstick you're wearing it acts as a bit of a lipgloss even though it's not mega shiny or glossy.

It can sting a bit when you paint it on your lips but it's not a horrible sting and I actually like the feel of it! It dries quick and once it has dried you don't notice it on your lips because it hasn't got a sticky or glossy feel to it.

I can't say for definite how long it will make your lipstick last for because it will depend on the lipstick and also on how well your skin reacts to Lipcote. The main thing to remember is that the dryer the lipstick the longer Lipcote will help it to last, it doesn't work very well on very creamy lipsticks and them mousse ones that are available now aren't suitable for you to paint Lipcote over because it doesn't stick good enough to the lipstick.

I can see a difference when drinking out of cups and glasses after I've used Lipcote because there's loads less lipstick on it afterwards and that's wicked news because it means more of it has stayed where it should be, on my lips! I reckon it works brill and more often than not when I get home after a night out my lipstick is still on my lips and not all over every glass I've drunk out of that night, I reapply it about halfway through the night to make sure the effects are going to last for as long as possible.

A tube of Lipcote costs between £2.50 and £3.00 depending on where you buy it from and for me that's deffo money well spent to keep my lipstick looking as good as possible for as long as possible.

Summary: Lipcote Has Been Going For Years And I Think It's Wicked Stuff!

It sure has been going for years...I remember buying this when I was a teenager - LOL! You are right about it stinging a bit but I mainly stopped using it because I found it made my lips really dry :-(
