Although Liz Earle sheer skin tint isn't marketed as a BB cream, that is exactly what it is in my opinion.
It is too heavy to be considered simply a tinted moisturiser.
The sheer skin tint comes in 4 shades, The texture is thick and creamy and the finish is dewy.
I am shade 01 Bare which is suitable for fair skin tones and after trying lots of different types of tinted moisturisers and BB creams which i have to say tend to be on the orange side, I have to say I am very impressed with this product.
This has the best colour blend, I did think initially that being light it would just fade into my skin but it doesn't. It covers imperfections like a foundation, blends in nicely and evens the skin tone and leaves my skin loking dewy (which is a big fashion must in make up for spring 2013).
It doesn't have a fragrance to it either which is nice if you're offended by strong smelling products, it contains a natural spf15 to protect the skin which is derived from Minerals.
You definitely need to wear a moisturiser underneath this product but if you're someone that doesn't like to wear alot of make up this is the perfect product for you. You don't need very much at all and I usually have to add things like concealer and finishing powder to my tinted moisturiser before going out but I have been able to put this on and not worry about any other products, the dewy finish is new for me but I really like the way it makes my skin glow in the mirror.
at £21 its not at the cheap end of the market but I have paid £10 more for similar products that I haven't been as happy with.
I have only been using it for a few days now but I have already received compliments about the way my skin looks :)
Being a bit of a beauty product addict, I always like to try out new things and vary the brands that I use. I'm a member of the website www.latestinbeauty.com which is designed to provide members with a selection of product samples that you can choose from and order on a monthly basis. I had opted to receive a sample of this Liz Earle Sheer Skin Tint in one of my previous Latest in Beauty sample boxes.
This product is available in 4 shades, of which I opted to use Bare 01 which is the lightest, giving the other samples away as they were too dark for my skin tone. I had a total of 4mls of this make-up which lasted me for 8 days of use. The full-size product is available in a 40ml tube costing RRP £21.00.
Product description: "The pefect way to enhance your skin. Our rich, creamy formula leaves skin looking naturally dewy, even and radiant. With mineral UV protection SPF15, plus our own specially selected blend of botanicals."
Directions for use: Apply to forehead, nose, cheeks and chin. Blend in with your fingertips.
I did try applying this make-up with my fingers but I much prefer the finish I get when using a sponge as it make blending easier and helps to provide an even coverage. I have very pale skin with loads of freckles so this gives me trouble trying to find make-up products that look natural against my skin tone. I have a real dislike for tanning and always make sure to keep my skin protected so that I don't suffer sun damage, so it's great that this make-up contains SPF15. This foundation has a lovely pale shade that works well with my skin colour and really evens out my complextion to give an even looking skintone. The Bare 01 shade is excellent for pale skin and I find that it matches in with my natural skin tone well.
This Sheer Skin Tint is completely different to other types of tinted moisturiser and foundation that I have used before. It covers over any patches of redness and hides blemishes as well as masking dark under eye circles. As well as that it gives a glowing, luminous finish which makes my skin look brighter, healthier and younger. I feel really confident about how good my skin looks when I'm wearing this make-up as it looks really polished and in great condition, even if underneath I know I'm hiding a few flaws! I think that this product would be best suited to those with dry or normal type skin. I have combination type skin and find that this make-up does encourage shiny patches to form throughout the day, and I have to apply pressed powder to my nose, chin and forehead to keep this in check. The only other bad point is that although I think this makes my skin look lovely, it does leave a residue on the skin and feels almost clammy to the touch. I don't notice this at all until I actually touch my face with my hands as the make-up doesn't feel heavy and still allows my skin to breathe.
Overall I would say that I was really impressed with the effect that this Sheer Skin Tint provides and would recommend it, partiuclarly for anyone who is looking for brighter, healthier looking skin with a youthful fresh appearance. Those with oily skin may have the same experience as I have, in that it can make skin feel a bit unpleasant to the touch, and will require touch-ups with face powder to avoid the lovely dewy look turning into shiny oily patches. Nevertheless it really does improve the look of my skin and I would certainly consider buying this product in the future.
I received several samples of this product with an order I placed with Liz Earle.
Sheer skin Tint is available in 4 shades which are; Bare for light skin tones, Beige for light to medium skin tones, Beach for medium skin tones and Deep Bisque for deep medium to dark skin tones. According to Liz Earle the product is a perfect way to enhance your skin. It is enriched with Vitamin E, borage and avocado and has SPF 15 protection. The tint contains special pigments that ensure the shades match each skin shade and tone; as a result, usually more than one shade can be worn be each individual. When this is ordered from Liz Earle, sample shades are sent along with the full sized product to be used first to ensure that the product ordered is the correct shade and any exchanges can be made if not.
The product in its standard form is priced at £21 for a 40ml tube and is available direct from Liz Earle on their website, QVC and eBay.
I have a light skin tone so I used the shade Bare and I was able to also use Beige without it looking to dark. The product has a light fluid consistency, Initially I thought this wouldn't be any good for me as I have blemishes and need a reasonably good coverage to cover my poor skin and it actually looked a too dark for my skin tone when it first came out of the sachet, so I thought I might have had a disaster on my hands! The product states to apply to the nose, forehead, chin and cheeks and blend- and nevertheless, this is what I did!
The first thing I noticed was has well it glided on to my skin, it was very easy to apply to my face and blend and my skin felt immediately moisturised thanks to the Vitamin E. I was careful to blend it well to ensure I didn't get any tide lines on my face as in case the skin shade wasn't correct, but it on closer inspection in the mirror I didn't appear to have any streaks or lines as the shade seemed to match my skin tone perfectly. I was really surprised at how well the product covered my dull, slightly scared and blemished skin considering how light the product feels; I didn't feel heavy, like I was caked in make-up. My skin looked dewy and healthy - for a change!
The product has longevity, several hours after application my make-up still looked freshly applied and my skin felt light and looked dewy and felt soft to the touch. Although the dewiness did make me look healthy, I think there was is a fine line between this and being shiny. This product thankfully didn't cross that, but if you suffer with oily skin then this may not be for you as a powder would be needed and that would pretty much counteract the whole nature of this light product!
The product lasted until it came to removing this at bed time, which was simple enough with my cleanser. There was no redness or irritation caused by the tint.
Overall, I am really happy with this product, my skin looked natural, yet flawless and it felt great to wear with the added protection of SPF 15. £21 is quite a bit of money to spend, but compared to some high end foundations it is a fairly typical price.
I would recommend this to people who like to keep their coverage natural and light but who don't have overly oily skin. I will hope to purchase this again, ideally at a discounted price though!
