I'm afraid this product just doesn't deliver.

In my efforts to swap all my chemical-laden products for more natural alternatives, I ordered a sample of Logona's Natural Make-up Fluid in the palest shade. Since this product only comes in two shades, it wasn't difficult to decide whether to buy the lighter or the darker. The first thing I did was check the ingredients and, although on the whole, they are pretty good for a liquid foundation, talc is listed fairly high up, and I was worried this might cause the product to clog up the skin. The first thing I noticed about this appealing German product was the smell, which I found almost addictive! In hindsight, I think this might have been due largely to the talc content. The foundation went on quite nicely and without caking, despite its slightly chalky texture. I also found that I didn't need much powder to set it, which is always a bonus. A few hours later, I was pleased to discover that the foundation still had a matt look and my face hadn't gone shiny. So far convinced, I ordered a full-size tube and continued to use the product every day. And now for the bad and the ugly. After about a week, I was less than pleased with the overall performance of this make-up. It was looking "cakey" after all, and sitting in creases, making me look considerably older than twenty-seven! Certainly at the end of the day, it did not look too pretty. I think I had been blinded by the matt finish provided by this foundation, but this was obviously due to the chalkiness of the talc. My skin was beginning to object and become clogged up, just as I had feared initially. I persevered for another week or so, but, in conjunction with the compact powder from the same range, it just wasn't working for me and my skin was definitely complaining. In addition to this, it's worth noting - if you still want to try this product after this review! - that, perhaps because it is a natural product, the full-size tube that I purchased was a considerably paler shade than the original sample that I tried. This was disappointing as the new shade really didn't match my skin tone too well. The best thing about this foundation is probably the packaging. The bottle has a pleasant matt feel to it and it looks like a good quality natural product. Priced at £14.99 for 30ml, it's averagely priced, but I'm afraid it does underperform rather. Since it only comes in two shades: Light Beige (for very fair skin), and Medium Beige (for fair to medium skin), Logona is limiting its customer base somewhat, but those with a darker skin tone have nothing to worry about, since they really aren't missing out. I wanted this product to be as good as I initially thought it was, but in the end, aside from the smell, I felt rather let down by it. This was my last liquid foundation to bite the dust; I have since made the switch to mineral make-up, which, in my view, beats liquid versions hands-down.
