I know it's hard to believe, but this actually /does/ make your eyelashes curl, although whether I would do away with my eyelash curlers altogether is a completely different thing. The product itself only comes in two different colours: black and brown, which is pretty limiting alone, and now I understand that they've just released a waterproof version of the mascara, but this comes only in black (humph!). However, the brown shade, in its defense, is quite nice with a shimmery coat to it, although I'm not sure whether it would be considered to be 'brown' enough to those used to the scheme used in mascaras. Y'know how a lot of mascaras advertise "that natural, no-mascara look"? L'Oreal's Le Grand Curl is not that mascara. Get this mascara in black, and you will have people asking you, "Are you wearing false eyelashes?" It does go on smoothly and without clumps (unless you keep reapplying new coats before the previous one has dried - but if you do that and get clumps it's your own fault ;) but it definitely makes it look like you're wearing mascara. Your eyelashes will be *impressive*, dark, lush, long. I'm not so sure about the "curling" effect - of course it's not as pronounced as the commercials would have you ...

The best way to approach this mascara is not to expect miracles. In my opinion, the only way to get seriously curly eyelashes is either to have them permed at a beauty salon or invest in a decent pair of eyelash curlers. This mascara did curl my eyelashes slightly and made my eyes open up a bit, but if you have dead straight lashes, you might be disappointed with this product. I didn't have a problem with applying the product and it didn't flake off at the end of the day or evening.
