      Excellent makeup product from Lush

Last year, my favourite store Lush launched a makeup range. While initially sceptical about the range, I tried several of the products and was pleasantly surprised. Therefore, I decided to get hold of a few more products.

The bulk of the range comprises colours sold in little glass vials, a bit like apothecary bottles. Called 'Emotional Brilliance', they all have names relating to feelings and emotions, and the idea is that you choose the colours that correspond to how you want to feel. Personally, I've just chosen the colours I like the best!

Within the range there are several lip colours, a number of eyeshadows and coloured eyeliners, and two specialist eyeliners. These dry faster than the other eyeliners so you can get a finer line. One of these is a gold eyeliner called 'Fantasy'.

The eyeliner costs £14.50, but I picked up a bottle in the half-price Christmas sale. It is suitable for vegans and is made with the no-smudge, stay put formula which is long-lasting. It contains eyebright infusion, a herb which is gentle on the eyes, and the ingredients list is as follows:
Eyebright Infusion, Water, Talc, Glyceryl Stearate SE, PVP, Hydroxyethycellulose, Titanium Dioxide, Calcium Sodium Borosilicate, Silica, Tin Oxide, CI77400, CI77492, Methylparaben, Propylparaben

As you can see the ingredients list is relatively short. It does contains parabens, which some people prefer to avoid - however these act as preservatives, and personally I wouldn't want to put something on my eyes which didn't contain any preservatives - it could easily go off!

The brush is very thin, so I find it easy to use to create a fine line. The wand is short, which I thought would make it trickier to apply, but in fact the opposite has been the case - of all the eyeliners I've tried, this is one of the easiest to use I've come across. Starting at the inner corner of my eyelid, I gently pull my eyelid straight and draw a line right to the end, with a slight flick. The eyeliner goes on really easily and dries pretty quickly so it doesn't smudge. The resulting golden line is pretty without being over the top. It is perfect for a night out, but could be worn during the day too as it isn't too in-your-face. I love the gold colour - it is a bit unusual and different.

The eyeliner lasts all day without smudging or flaking, which is pretty impressive. It's definitely one of the best eyeliners I've ever tried. It doesn't irritate my skin, and it comes off really easily when I use eye makeup remover.

Despite my initial misgivings, I've been very impressed with this product and I'd certainly repurchase. I don't even mind the high price, as it is on a par with Urban Decay products (which cost about the same) in terms of quality. Highly recommended.

        A gold eye liner

        Lush FANTASY Liquid Eyeliner

During last year lush introduced their Emotional Brilliance range of cosmetics which was big step for them as previously they have only created toiletries and perfumes and not any make up. The Emotional Brilliance range is supposed to be chosen by a spinning colour reel and then the three colours you choose reflect the three different aspects of your personality.

I did the spinning thing in the shop and bought one of those I chose but the others I have bought simply because I like the colours and think they will blend with others I have. This was NOT one of the colours that I chose in my spinning game and I actually bought this one in a bulk buy through Ebay at a bargain price so thought it was worth a try even though I would never have bought this colour at full RRP. This is a gold eye liner!

If you choose this colour first then you choose it as your strength or weakness:
"Some may want to add realism to your fantastic imagination today, but they should realise that your FANTASY is your biggest strength. Allow yourself to do what you do best and let your unrestrained imagination run free. Who knows what exciting ideas you might come up with next! ."

If you choose it second then you are choosing it as your subconscious need:
"Allow yourself to break away from the more serious side of life today. Your subconscious is craving a little imaginative mini-break. Allowing your creativity to run free will liberate you. It is just what you have been looking for. ."

If chosen third then you have chosen it as your aspiration or talent:
"You are just one fabulous idea after another today! Your talent for FANTASY is at its height, and this is opening up huge creative possibilities for you. Your unrestricted imagination will help you to achieve anything you want to."

The little bottles all look the same like eye dropper bottles but they have different applicators inside. Some have thin brushes like an eye liner and others have a sponge applicator a bit like an eye shadow one. The eye liner colours are the darker ones although I do have a bright green one with a thin brush. The lipstick and other colours have the sponge applicators. Lush do have other throw away applicators of all types so you could ask for a few of these to use the colours differently if you wanted to try them.

        I'M IN A FANTASY
This is sold as a liquid eye liner and is a gorgeous gold sparkly colour. It comes with the eye liner brush as the applicator probably because you really only need a little of this and it goes a long way. Lush's eye liners are made with two different types of 'base'. This one and 'Independent' are the only two eyeliners in the range that are' no-smudge, stay put formula.' This means that as soon as you apply these two, they stay put but I have found that I can blend it a little if I mix it with another colour. Once it has set though itis incredibly long lasting and I never have to re apply it or top it up.

This eye colour has great staying power and feels quite light on my eye lid and even though it is gold and has tiny bits in it I have not ever had any nasty reaction to using this at all. I wore it a few times over the festive period and found that it worked really well as a liner on my top lids . I also mixed it with different other colours and this gave a lovely sparkle to all of them .

Once applied I find this lasts for the day and I never need to re apply as it stays just as I apply it and gives a really lasting gold sparkly colour effect. I am rather careful what and where I wear this as it could look a bit cheap and tacky in the wrong situation.

I find that this is easy to remove using ultrabland from Lush. I just gently apply Ultrabland to my eyes and massage it a bit then using a face cloth and warm water I wipe all my face and ant makeup comes off gently and easily.

I always use this as a eye liner and find that it gives a lovely party look and adds a bit of a lift to my eys. I can't imagine wearing this on my lips but I guess if you wanted to be very different you could add a bit to your cheeks in the right situation but not something I will be doing.

This Fantasy has something called eyebright infusion, which is a herb with an ancient tradition of use for the eyes. It seems to have other oxides and things and no nice gentle oils in this one but once again it has this does have Methylparabenand , Propylparaben presumably for preservatives.

Being a Lush product it is only available through their shops and their website although Ebay is always an option.

The little bottle costs the same as all the Emotional Brilliance products except 'Eyes Right' and the pots and they are all £14.50 which seems a lot but they last ages and are so versatile that I have become hooked. This one is more limited in its use so will last me ages I think.

In the little bottle you get 5g of product and that seems more than most liquid eye shadows and I don't know of any others that are a gold eye lioner but I am not an expert and can't say I have looked for a gold eye liner before.

Initially I thought these were expensive and only bought the mascara as it was the cheapest option. Since then I have managed to accumulate about seven different colours. I have been happy with most of them and although this is rather limited for me as the number of places I go where I could wear gold eye liner is rather limited but I have had fun with this over the festive period and for the price I paid I am happy to have it to play with even occasionally.

Thanks for reading. This review may be posted on other sites under my same username.
