Great for excess shine, but very oily skins may not find it all that effective. (MAC Blot Powder)

Advantages: Convenient, Controls shine, Lasts for ages.

Disadvantages: Loose can be a little messy, will not help with very oily skins.

Blot is a powder product, available in both loose and pressed form aimed to remove excess oil/shine throughout the day. The powders are very light and finely milled to ensure that you cannot see the powder once applied to the skin. A regular powder would soon start to look cakey if applied too many times.

I own both formulas: I keep the pressed compact in my handbag to use throughout the day, whilst the loose powder stays at home and is sometimes used to set my foundation in the morning. I prefer the pressed, since it is easier to use, less messy and more portable.

If you are very oily, it is recommended that you use oil absorbing sheets prior to blotting with this, as it will not help very oily skin. It is more suitable to take away just a light shine in my opinion.

I apply with the MAC #129SH, a short handled brush that has it's own little case to keep it clean in your bag. I only need to apply this once, or at most twice a day so it lasts a very long time. At £14.00 I think it's a great deal, especially since it works a lot better than some of the cheaper alternatives.

I love that you cannot see this on the skin after applying, really natural effect. Holy Grail Product!

Summary: Will always repurchase the pressed form of MAC Blot :-)
