I bought this several months ago when I purchased Mac's Studio Tech foundation, (also reviewd) to use over the top as a fixing powder. It was recommended for my oily skin by the sales girl, and she assured me that not only would it fix my foundation and keep it there all day, it was also colourless so wouldn't alter the shade of my foundation.

You get 12g of pressed powder in a neat little compact with Mac's signature black packaging, a good quality mirror and an applicator puff for £17. The powder contains Mica and Silica to absorb excess oil and I have to say that I think it works very well. My skin is sensitive, and gets increasingly oily/shiny as the day wears on, however when applying a thin layer of this over foundation it really does set your face helping your foundation to last a lot longer, and hasn't caused any kind of reaction. I find using a large powder brush to apply it works best, and doesn't seem to use nearly half as much as the puff supplied. However the puff is great for touching up when out and about. It doesn't seem to cake at all, and has a lovely fine texture which feels really nice on your skin, alhough it does seem to make me look a tiny bit paler initially but then I think it must adjust to your skin tone as it doesn't seem to stay pale.

Again, like all Mac products it is quite expensive but I feel you get what you pay for and this by far beats any cheaper powder I've used before. It also lasts, and lasts, and lasts especially if you apply it with a really soft powder brush. A little does go a long way, and I would expect a compact to last around 6 months.

If you suffer from combination/oily skin and want your foundation to look great and last all day withouth the dreaded shiny patches breaking through then this is the powder for you.
