Item: M.A.C Dazzleglass Lip Gloss Colour: Date Night (shimmery purple/pink) Size: 1.92g Price: £17.50 Bought in: Debenhams I bought this lip gloss in Debenhams along with the Ruby Woo lip stick. Again as this was a treat I bought a colour that I wouldn't usually chose and as there was actually quite a few lovely colours to choose from the name of this one was really cute so this drew me in to pop this on in my basket. Packaging: Just like the lipstick this lip gloss also came in a black cardboard box with white/silver text over it. The box details that it is made by M.A.C and the size and that it is was the Dazzleglass product. The tube is rounded and clear with a black lid. As the tube is clear you can see the gloss right through it and it is really shimmery. The name of the colour is Date Night and I chose this as I thought it was a cute name to pick when out shopping for wedding stuff. The actual colour is quite clear but has a definite purple to pink colour through it which is much deeper in the tube that it is on your lips. There is very fine glitter through the gloss and you can see this all sparkle as you roll the tube around under the light. You can really tell that this is a high quality gloss as you can't actually feel the glitter through the gloss. In some much cheaper ones you can actually feel the glitter on your lips, but not in this one. The tube has M.A.C Dazzleglass written across it in black text and is very simple and stylish. The lid screws tightly on and I don't fear any leakages. The tube is 10cm long and 3.5cm of that overall length is made up of the lid so I felt like that was a good size to hold for application. The wand is 6.5cm long and the brush on the end is 0.8cm long. The brush actually reaches right to the bottom of the tube so you can still get down to there to get the very last out when you are nearly finished. The bottom of the tube has a round silver sticker on it that tells you the name of the colour. Application and results: Wow Disco Inferno!!!! This gloss is super thick and gives my lips a totally glam disco feel. I feel like I should be roller skating in to a Sister Sledge video when I have it on. The brush is small but the bristles don't come loose and you can apply an ample amount on to your lips very easily. I mentioned that the colour is shimmery and a cross between purple and pink. Purple can give your teeth a yellow tinge if you pick the wrong shade so I did a we tester in the store using one of their throw away applicators to make sure this wasn't one of those shades. Thankfully it wasn't! The colour when on my lips really does shimmer and you can see that it is a variation of shades of purple and pink and goes well with either plain silver eye makeup or if you like bolder colours I have worn it alongside a nice purple shade and it really went well. As the gloss is thick it stays on for quite a long time. I felt that I didn't need to reapply it for about 2 hours which is quite a long time for gloss. As the gloss is more see through then a block colour it doesn't look patchy, the colour just reduces as it wears off. The gloss smells very sweet, a little bit like vanilla and is pleasant to have on your lips. Overall I am really happy with this gloss, again it is a product that cost way more than the usual prices I pay for a lip gloss but it is a gorgeous colour that stays put for longer than my other gloss' and theb name was just delightful.
I don't want to bore you guys everytime I write a Mac review by harping on about how much I love Mac...but I do! I really do...and this is another amazing product from them. I spotted these glosses online and had to try one! Mac have there own stores dotted around the big cities. They are available online and in some of the department stores. They have a very impressive website with clear swatches of all the shades available as well as a short description of the shade which makes online shopping that bit easier. THE CLAIMS: * Lipcolour that dazzles with light and shine to bring an exciting dimensional pop to your lips * Large particle pearls reflect and refract light to mimic the brilliance of quartz and opal crystal. * Provides exceptional shine with a crystalline iridescence. * Non-sticky, non-tacky, lightweight and moisturizing. MY EXPERIENCE: I love this lipgloss! I first bought it in 'Like Venus' and have since purchased 'Love Alert' The lipgloss is very sheer and packed with glitter so really does sparkle! The scent of the lipgloss is gorgeous, it's vanilla, the same as the Mac lipsticks. The texture of the lipgloss is very lightweight and looks perfect worn alone for a softer daytime look but also looks great on top of a lipstick. It stays on well and isn't sticky. I love everything about this gloss, it's the perfect consistancy for me, lips feel moisturised. The shine is amazing! SHADES AVAILABLE: This lipgloss is available in 15 shades and there's definately something for everyone. I'm definately going for 'Steppin' Out' next. THE PACKAGING: Mac packaging is always very simple and glassy. This gloss comes in a clear plastic bottle so the colour and how much is left can clearly be seen. The applicator is a fine brush which is good for applying the product very precisely. VALUE FOR MONEY: This retails at £17.00 which isn't cheap for a lipgloss and it doesn't last particularly long but the product is of such high quality I would definately repurchase.
Dazzleglass is one of my favourite lipglosses from MAC and I wear it almost every time that I go clubbing/somewhere special. It's great over matte lipstick but it looks amazing on its own as well. It's really sparkly but it doesn't look at all tacky or greasy and in my opinion it looks very luxurious and glitzy. It's a little too sparkly for day to day wear in my opinion and could easily look over the top when I'm wearing minimal make-up but it is the lipgloss that I always reach for when I am making an effort with my make-up for a night out on the town etc. A 2.4ml tube of this retails at £17.00 which like all MAC products is quite pricey however don't let the price put you off - the quality shines through and a little goes a long way as even one coat makes a massive difference so a tube lasts for a good few months at least - I've had mine since last December and have used it countless times and there's still quite a bit left. The tube that the lipgloss comes in is very good quality. It is made from a sturdy, good quality plastic which is transparent. I found the transparent tube particularly handy when I was at the MAC counter and looking at the different colours and it is also handy because I am able to see how much product I have left. The tube has a black screw-on lid which has the wand and applicator attatched to it and the tube has 'MAC Dazzleglass' written on the side of it clearly in black writing. The tube comes in a quite a posh rectangular cardboard box which is black with the product name written on it. I personally don't keep the boxes of my MAC products as I have so many! The lip gloss is available in an impressive seventeen different shades ranging from purple and pink to beige and brown. I have it in 'love alert' which is described by MAC as being raspberry red with red pearl - it's basically bright barbie pink with a red tone that stops it from looking over the top. The lip gloss itself is just the right consistency - not so thick that it easily blobs up and looks gloopy but thick enough not to run/dribble off of my lips! It is a little sticky to the touch but no more than an average lip gloss and it is not tacky. I only need a small amount for an impressive glossy, pearly finish and huge amount of shimmer and the applicator brush is smooth, soft and precise. It feels lightweight on my lips rather than feeling like a thick layer. The pink and silver glitter particles are very noticeable close up but they do not make the gloss look tacky - the finish is extremely glitzy and luxurious. It is not the most natural looking lip gloss but it isn't too over the top or in your face, either. The gloss is well pigmented and the colour it gives is nice and subtle and I especially like wearing it over a matte lipstick - it looks amazing. It smells quite nice as well but the smell soon fades. The gloss stays in tact for a good few hours but it is not non transferrable so my boyfriend has ended up with glittery cheeks and lips on a few ocassions! While the gloss isn't drying it isn't overlly moisturising but it does make my lips appear nice and moist as well as a little fuller. Overall I highly recommend this lip gloss and I give it five out of five stars.
I love lip glosses and I have certainly have plenty of them. I always seem to find room in my collection for just one more and although I was hesitant about splashing out on my latest one, the sales assistant convinced me to do it and so I bought the Dazzleglass Lip Gloss by MAC What does the product do? The product promises to give the lips a beautiful sparkle and shine, as well as a pop of colour. It claims that the gloss will reflect the light to make the lips pretty and eye catching, without being tacky, sticky or uncomfortable. Available Shades There are a wide range of shades available from pinks to purple and reds to browns. They each come with lovely and interesting names including Baby Sparks, Roman Holiday, Love Alert and Money, Honey. I chose Like Venus which is a baby pink shade with red pearl flecks. How do you use the product? The product is to be used in the same way as a normal lip gloss. It can be applied to the lips as often as required and it can be worn alone or over the top of your favourite lipstick. Packaging and Price The product comes contained within a simple tube and you can see the gloss inside so you can get a good idea of the colour that you'll receive. The packaging is kept to a minimal with just a simple black lid and the wand is contained within the lid. The application brush is very short and thin which allows to precisely apply the gloss and to control the amount of gloss that you are using. The product costs around £17 and it can be bought from any store with a MAC counter and also from a variety of online websites. Application The lip gloss is easy to apply because the wand allows you to be precise. It also stops you from applying too much and making your lips sticky and gloopy. You can cover your lips in one coat. The product has a delicious sweet vanilla smell which is very evident as you apply the gloss and although you can still smell it after application, it shouldn't be strong enough to put you off wearing it. I love it anyway so I wish it would stay for longer! Performance The gloss is beautiful and it coats your lips with a lovely shine. The colour is evident but sheer at the same time so it's good for people like me who don't like the colour on their lips to be too over the top. The sparkles are very obvious and evident but that shimmer more than glitter, and it looks classy rather than childish. The product is quite tacky so it does stay put even after eating or drinking. It still manages not to be greasy or sticky so it feels completely comfortable on the lips. Conclusion All in all, I love the consistency, colour and aroma of this lip gloss. It is high quality, long lasting and it makes your lips look much prettier and very eye catching. It's only a shame that they are expensive otherwise, I'd one in each colour!
M.A.C is a cosmetics brand which originated in Canada. M.A.C offer a wide range of make up and skin care products for professional and regular use. ~Dazzleglass~ M.A.C offer a few different lipgloss ranges including 'Plushglass' and 'Lustreglass'. For the purpose of this review, I will be discussing the Dazzleglass range. This range of lipglosses includes 17 shades. The shade range is mainly pinks and purples though there is a few neutral shades on offer too. Shades include titles such as 'Love Alert', 'Baby Sparks' and 'Date Night'. M.A.C state that this lipgloss contains pearl particles which will give an opal crystal and quartz effect as the light shines on your lips. They also claim that this gloss will be non-sticky, lightweight and moisturising for your lips. It can be worn alone or over lipstick to create a different effect. ~Design~ Each Dazzleglass is presented in a chunky, round tube which is made of thick plastic. The tube itself is clear and has M.A.C cosmetics printed on it. A simple shade sticker is stuck to the bottom of the tube. The wand extends far in to the tube and features a brush applicator. Overall, I like the design. It is simple yet stylish and reflects the price range and brand well. ~Price and Availability~ Dazzleglass is available in a 2.4ml sized tube. All good M.A.C stockists (department stores and online) are likely to stock it. House of Fraser and Debenhams currently offer this gloss priced at £17.00. ~My Thoughts~ I love lipgloss and have a huge collection of various branded glosses with the cheapest being around £1.00 and the most expensive over £20.00! I like a bit of variation. I cannot say that M.A.C is a brand I buy from regularly but it does appear to be popular. I made a purchase of my Dazzleglass in the post Christmas sales so managed to obtain a small discount. I purchased my gloss from House of Fraser where they have a large M.A.C department. When it came to choosing a shade, I was spoilt for choice. The shade range is quite varied with shades to suit various skin tones. I have quite pale skin and prefer a light pink shade for my lips. I much prefer to add extra colour to my eyes whilst leaving my lips looking a bit more natural. I opted for 'Like Venus' which is marketed as a light pink shade. It is one of the lightest shades in the Dazzleglass range. I felt this was a suitable option for wearing during the day or in the evening though some may prefer a more intense colour. ~Pucker Up Pink Princess~ My lips are quite dry so the added benefit of hydration is always a bonus for me. Dazzleglass is extremely easy to use as the wand lid is the perfect size to grip. The brush at the end of the wand is of a high quality. It is durable yet soft and gentle and picks up a small amount of gloss. You really only need a thin slither of gloss across your lips to cover them evenly. The gloss itself has a pleasant consistency - not too thick and certainly not slimy. It is just right and slicks over my lips without dragging. The brush allows for a precise application with minimal blending required. Once on my lips, Dazzleglass feels very lightweight - I can never tell that it is there to be honest. It looks smooth and neat. My lips feel moist and moisturised each time I apply this gloss. The non-sticky claim is founded as my lips do not feel tacky and hair doesn't stick to them either so this is perfect for me (and most other girls I am sure). My lips haven't experienced any drying effects from this gloss and moisturisation lasts all day. M.A.C state that this gloss has a vanilla flavouring. Personally I notice a faint, fruity scent whilst applying it before it settles to a sweet vanilla flavour. The flavour is short lived but much more appealing than plasticky tasting glosses. Shade wise, the colour swatches on the House of Fraser website are more accurate than the M.A.C website. 'Like Venus' is a baby pink in the tube and does look a little cheap but on the lips, it is a little more subtle. A thin slick of gloss results in gorgeous, pink lips. My lips do not look overdone after using Dazzleglass. The pink colouring is more subtle than full on colour but it works well. The gloss effect is really great. My lips have a slight, wet appearance and look healthy and natural. Others have pointed out that my lips do indeed glisten in a pretty way when the light catches them. I wouldn't say dazzle and there is certainly no cheap and nasty glittery look but the particles do capture light nicely and give a different look. Like most glosses, Dazzlegloss doesn't last all day. It is of a high quality and the pink colouring is noticeable for a 2 hours or so even with minimal eating and drinking before gradually fading. The gloss effect seems to last a bit longer but does need topped up through the day. ~Conclusion~ I do like my M.A.C Dazzlegloss. It looks good on my lips though I do not feel it is worth the £17.00 price tag. It is good for an everyday gloss and my tube still has loads left despite regular use. I personally prefer something a bit more special (Dior or Chanel gloss for example) for special occasions. If you want to try this gloss, buy direct from trusted department stores as fake M.A.C is rife on the internet. Thanks for reading :)
Description (by MAC): Lipcolour that dazzles with light and shine to bring an exciting dimensional pop to your lips. Large particle pearls reflect and refract light to mimic the brilliance of quartz and opal crystal. Provides exceptional shine with a crystalline iridescence. Non-sticky, non-tacky, lightweight and moisturizing. Glides on. Wear alone, or layer over lipstick or Lipglass for dramatic effect. Features our signature M∙A∙C vanilla aroma. Price: £16 per tube (eek!) My Experience: I practically eat lipgloss, it's my favourite make-up product and the sparkly the better so when I saw this I had to have it really. I bought this product in 'Like Venus' which is very pink and very sparkly. This product produces an exceptional shine and basically does what it says on the tin. The product can be quite sticky and it is quite thick. As a result, it gets used up really quickly. I think the packaging is actually quite deceiving as the tube inside is very very tiny and so it looks like you have more than you really do. Although this product looks lovely, it is quite expensive for a lip gloss, and especially considering there's not much product there. I would recommend this, but when this runs out, I would like to try out the other MAC lip glosses. Oh, smells lovely too!
Dazzleglass is very unique compared to the other lip glosses available from Mac as it's not just a lip colour it is one that dazzles with light and shines. The Large particle pearls reflect and refract light. Dazzle glass is £14.50 for 2.4ml which is fairly expensive for a lip-gloss but it does look really expensive on. Some lip glosses tend to look cheap and tacky but this really does look as glamorous and expensive as the cost. There is a large variety of shades available including baby pinks, nudes and purples. I purchased the love alert which is a raspberry pinky red. The applicator wand that comes with dazzle glass is long so you can get to the bottom of the tube when you are running out rather than wasting some of it. I like how easy it is to apply with the wand because of the length of it. If it was shorter you wouldn't be able to be as precise. The consistency is fairly thick compared to some of Macs other lip glosses. Also it isn't as sticky which is an aspect I love about a lip-gloss the fact it isn't sticky comes at a great advantage for someone who has long hair and usually gets hair stuck to gloss when its windy. The dazzleglasses look very glamorous because of the glittery effect they achieve. They look perfect for a special occasion or a night out. You can wear this for any occasion, whether its casual or formal but it really does look perfect to dress up an outfit if you are finishing work and decided to go out straight away just a slash of this on your lips and instantly make you look more glamorous than if you were to wear nothing on your lips. The packaging is fairly basic. It comes in a plastic tube with the Mac logo at the front of it. It comes in a black MAC box with ingredients at the back. The durability of the lip-gloss is fairly decent. It lasted me about 3-4 hours despite eating and drinking during this period. I wouldn't of expected it to last any longer because it's a gloss which tends to slip off when eating food and drinking. I really like the way it makes my lips look really plump because of how the light reflects off my lips. Overall, I really like this lip-gloss it gives you a really glamorous pout with great durability. The only issue I have with it is the price and the packaging.
MAC DAZZLEGLASS is the way to impress!! MAC have just relaunched a whole range of Dazzleglass colours, previously these were limited edition and to get hold of the range of colours was like gold dust! Now they are back and it looks like they are here to stay! There are a range of 18 different colours in total and they are all absolutely spark-a-licious!! I have Rags to Riches and also Baby Sparks. Priced at £12.72 per item these may seem somewhat pricey if you are used to spendign £5.00 on a lip gloss from a high street store, however the colour is not comparable. MAC boasts a range of long lasting unique colours and Dazzleglass is certainly that!! There are browns, creams, pinks and even a gorgeous lilac FUNTABULOUS colour. They come with a brush applicator which doesnt clog, they are easy to apply and unlike some other lipglosses when you drink your drink = although some of the dazzleglass does mark its territory on the side of your wine glass - theres still plenty on your lips! So, the colour remains = long lasting. The applicator brush is designed so that you can reach all the way to the bottom of the container - so unlike some other glosses you dont have to throw half of it away! And, even BETTER you can then make use of the Back to Mac service which is offered in the UK where by you return 6 empty containers and receive a free lipstick - MAC recyle the empty cases, doing their bit for the environment and you can select a lovely colour to don on your lips next time you are painting your face. I would recommend Dazzleglass certainly for the Summer Season which is fast approaching, it is a light lip gloss with no grittiness and a nice taste, it lasts throughout the day and/or night and can be applied over lipstick or on its own to provide colour.
MAC dazzleglass is actually a limited edition item that they've brought back for this Christmas collection. The first time these lip glosses came out, I actually missed them and didn't get to pick them up and was very disappointed so I made sure I was there at the launch of the second lot with the "Red She Said" collection. I think there were about 10 or more different colours available with the first collection, of which one was a blue colour and there are only 5 available with red she said, so I'm praying they make this permanent or release more colours in future collections. So these lip glosses are £12.50 each, there a little pricier (but only by one or two punds) than the regular MAC lipglass; these are much shinier and sparklier though. These lip glosses are very shimmery; they have tiny glitter and shimmer reflects in them and the colours are just fab! I love wearing them on their own or over lip stick to intensify the shade and add shimmer and dimension to my lips. These lip glosses come in see through plastic tubes with a black screw on cap. There's a little brush attached to the cap that has a precise tip for easy application. The colour goes on sheer but you can build the layers for a more intense look and deeper, more vibrant colour. I really love these lip glosses, it's like having fairy dust on your lips and it's a nice make up item to have, especially during the holiday season as I always feel more festive when I wear this and get compliments on how shiny and pretty my lips look. The lip gloss doesn't feel sticky or tacky and doesn't dry in the corners of my mouth like some others do. It's very comfortable to wear and looks shiny and vibrant for hours! Definitely a must for all you MAC fanatics out there and any girl who loves daring, sparkly looks, you should own at least one; my suggestion is the colour baby sparks, as it's a pretty baby pink with loads of shimmer and would suit just about anyone!
I thought I would review this product as I'm notusually one for lip gloss or as MAC like to call it lipglass. I bought the "baby sparks" dazzle glass a few weeks ago. It is a limited product from the MAC "red she said" winter 2008 range and to sum it up in one word it is GORGEOUS :) So the lowdown... this dazzleglass costs £12.50 and I bought it from the MAC website, it arrived super quick and packaged well. The packaging of the gloss itself is exceptional, not only did it come in a box which made it look a bit posh but the actual tube is made from what feels like glass so basically makes it look and feel like more of a quality high end product. The dazzle glass itself is a gorgeous baby pink colour in the tube with very very fine sparkles however when applied to the lips wether it be over a lipstick or just straight on it creates a beautiful barely there pink shimmer. It is of quite a sticky consistency which at first put me off but I am now glad of this as it stays put literally for hours which is great considering I shelled out more money on it than I would usually on a product of this type. I full reccomend this dazzleglass and in this particualr shade it will suit all skin tones and you can create a multitude of effects if it is layered over different lipsticks, I often team it with MAC "quiet please" which is a lipstick again from this same limited range. Overall a great buy, which has reinforced me love of MAC!
