Mac is probably my favourite brand when it comes to cosmetics, the variety of shades is second to none. I love the new exciting collections that are coming out all the time and I always look forward to a visit to the Mac counter. The quality is outstanding. I first really got into Mac by watching online make-up tutorials on youtube, and the fact that the make-up artists on there always use Mac speaks volumes to me.
Mac is available in some department stores and they also have there own stores dotted around the big cities. There website is also very impressive with very clear swatches and descriptions of all the shades available.
I first saw the Mac eye brow pencil on a youtube make-up tutorial, I wanted something quick and easy to apply and this was perfect for me.
* Self-propelling, self-sharpening, brow defining.
* Confidently adds what you need: shape, colour, density in one streamlined tool.
* Provides definition, shape, deepens/fills in colour. Creates striking arches.
* Easy to tote around. No sharpener needed.
I can't disagree with any of the claims with this product. The pencil is perfect for carrying around, no need to worry about sharpening etc. The fine nib provides excellent precision during application, colours glides on smoothly and softly with no harsh lines. I chose the shade 'spiked' as my hair colour is quite dark brown and it was perfect for me. It was dark but still natural and didn't give an overly false effect. The colour stayed on well throughout the day without smudging.
The Mac packaging is very simple, it's black with white writing. The coloured band on the end of the pencil shows the shade which is helpful. The wind-up design is very simple.
This product is available in 6 different shades and I feel there is something for everyone.
VALUE FOR MONEY:
The pencil costs £12.50 and I would be happy to pay this again. The product is perfect for acheiving a natural well-groomed result that goes on lasts all day. The pencil lasted quite well too. I would definately repurchase this product.
Description - by MAC:
Self-propelling, self-sharpening, brow defining. Confidently adds what you need: shape, colour, density in one streamlined tool. Like a pen, creates its own just-right point. Provides definition, shape, deepens/fills in colour. Creates striking arches. Easy to tote around. No sharpener needed.
I really love this product. There are many different colours and I wasn't really sure which one to get but the sales person was happy to help. I went for 'Lingering' which is a perfect match.
The pencil really defines brows and the pencil is very sharp and fine and so provides steady coverage. This product has staying power and is also kind of waxy and so it is pretty much water proof.
Can't really fault this product, highly recommended and I would buy it again should it run out.
Also, self-sharpening so that's another handy advantage of not having to sharpen!
This MAC product helps your eyebrows frames your face beautifully, as MAC sell quality products that rarely disappoint. If, like me and many other women all over the world, you'd like thicker looking eyebrows that stand out a bit (or a lot) more, this eyebrow 'definer' is definitely for you.
They are around £7 to buy and you can go into a MAC store or buy them online via their website. The twist mechanism pushes more product out, meaning that you never have to sharpen the pencil.. This is a must have for people who like to look good but with minimum effort!
There are shades to suit every skin tone and hair colour, meaning you can match your preferred colour relatively easily. Never again will you have to buy a shade too light or dark, MAC caters for all! There is the shade Strut for a light ish brown, Fling for a warm, ash blonde, Spiked for a darker brunetter brunette, Lingering for a medium brown colour, Stud for a really dark brunette and Velvetone for deepest black eyebrows.
This wide range really does help when wanting the right colour so as to accentuate your brows nicely, and if you go to a MAC store, the representatives there will let you try out the product to find what you want and the shades you need. So don't be put off by the price, go and try it and you can make your own mind up!
It is often said that your eyes are the windows into your soul, if that is the case, then why do so few women look after them and highlight them in a way that really frames their face. The fabulous thing about the MAC brow pencil is that it comes in a range of colours to suit different skin tones and hair colours. From blonde tones all the way through to darker ones, you will be able to find a pencil to suit your individual requirements. You also don't have to worry about sharpening the pencil either, as it has a handy twist element which means that you never have to worry about a blunt pencil again! I find MAC makeup very resonably priced as it is of such high quality and lasts.
With fuller eyebrows being such high fashion, the MAC pencil really allows you to get those catwalk and model looks so easily with just a few strokes!
There is a misconception that eyebrows shouldnt be as important as eyes, lips and cheeks. This is wrong. Eyebrows frame your face and can give completley different looks with the slightlest angle adjustment. Remember that you express all your emotions through your eyebrows!
Mac eyebrow definer is perfect for this. In a range of different colours it is soft and smooth and glides onto the skin and stays there till wiped off. Also there is no need to sharpen; you just twist the bottom. You can create/fill in your brows as the definer is substancial enough to create think brows.
I am ginger and have a slightly brown colour (for dark blondes) shade which isnt entirely correct for my colouring but it makes my eyeborws look completely different and since using this producty I have my eyeborws dyed each month.
The definer is uite pricey at 10 pounds but it is well worth the money.
I think there is nothing that can quite transform your face as much as a nicely groomed set of eyebrows. I admit I can be slightly on the obsessive side when it comes to plucking and grooming mine and when I finally had a little bit of spare cash recently I decided to replace my not very impressive Rimmel eyebrow pencil with MAC's snazzy Eye Brows pencil.
MAC produce this pencil in a good range of colours which means there should be one that will suite any complexion: Strut (a mid toned brown), Fling (an ash blonde), Spiked (bottle brunette), Lingering (a hazel brown) Stud (a rich blackened brown), and Velvetone (film noir black). As a dark brunette I chose Stud - my eyebrows are actually black, but I find black eyebrow pencil is just a bit too much for me, so Stud was the perfect choice.
The first thing to note about Eye Brows is that it's not a regular pencil that you need to sharpen, but is self sharpening, coming in a plastic casing from which you remove the lid and twist the top to push up the pencil. I've used pencils like this in the past and on opening this to use the first time I was ambivalent about how well this would work in comparison to a normal pencil. However, the fact that it doesn't need sharpening means that MAC have made the pencil extremely thin, which allows you to have great precision in application. The twist up action also has a tiny click which allows you to 'measure' how much you are pushing up by - one click should push up 0.5mm and mean you have enough pencil to apply to both brows. Add to that the fact that there are no tiny shards of pencil to flake off and I'm sold on this design.
Application is a dream. The pencil lead is so thin that you have lots of control over where you are applying it and the pencil itself is also very thin and has little grooves for added grip. The pencil is soft enough to allow you to apply easily but not so soft that it crumbles and smudges. I find it really easy to get a defined look using this, you just need to cover the brow shape with tiny feathery strokes and it gives great definition, adds shape, and leaves brows looking groomed and perfect. It doesn't seem to leave a powdery particle coating on the hairs as I've found many brow pencils can - just a smooth and even coating of colour. Strangely, my brows actually look a little thinner once I've applied this, as they are so much better defined and everything just looks in place. It's also easy to build up the colour to give a deeper look if that's what you're after and the blackened brown is a nice rich colour that works perfectly for me and without any of the nasty red undertones that so many brown eyebrow pencils have. If you do make a mistake, it's easy to correct with a Q-tip, but mistakes with this I've found are very rare and you have to be pretty clumsy and not paying full attention!
I find that once applied, unless you decide to wipe your hand across your face, it will last all day without budging or smudging a jot. Although it's not a waterproof product, I have also found that it doesn't budge in the rain or sweat, which many products like this will do.
The pencil casing is also very sturdy - I've accidentally dropped this a couple of times and was worried that the pencil lead would have broken but it has remained intact.
My only criticism of Eye Brows is that compared to pencils that you need to sharpen, it doesn't last me as long and because of the packaing, you can't actually see how much product you have left. This is no doubt because I often will use a brow pencil a little on the blunt side, whereas you can't get away with that here and it forces you to have that sharpened point for precision.
At £9.79 each, these aren't the cheapest brow pencils around, but they're not ridiculously expensive and I'd be hard pushed to return to a conventional pencil that requires sharpening. It leaves your brows looking ultra groomed and perfect, and allows you to achieve either a natural or dramatic look depending on the kind of look you are after.
