Advantages: Huge range of colours and finishes, Do not crease or fade, Last a long time.

Disadvantages: Some can be slightly chalky / Need a good base.

MAC's eyeshadows are one of the best I have tried.

Available in a huge range of shades, from matte neutrals to frosty bright pinks, there truly is something for everyone. At £10.00 a go, they are slightly more expensive than some eyeshadows, but the quality is always consistent, they last a long time on the eyelid without creasing and do not fade so I think they are a great, quality deal.

I apply using brushes, of many different shapes/fibres, but a great go-to shadow brush is the MAC #217 which applies and blends effortlessly at the same time.

There are a few different finishes/textures that MAC Eyeshadows are available in. I will give a quick rundown of them now, as it may help you decide what you are after :-)

Frost: The Frost shades are usually shimmery, or sometimes almost sparkly shadows that can give your eyes a pretty, metallic effect. They apply easily with little to no fallout.

Lustre: These are usually a little more 'powdery' feeling than the other shades and usually have visible specks of glitter in. Because of this they do have a lot more fallout than the other formulas and can be a little harder to work with. Great results though!

Matte: These shades are exactly that, Matte! Smooth colours with no shimmer or glitter at all, perfect for work or maturer ladies who do not like shimmer. Some can be slightly chalky and need a good base to stick too.

Matte2: The Matte2's were released as creamier, more velvety matte shades than the previous. They are very smooth, glide onto the eyes effortlessly and blend perfectly. I would recommend these over the regular Matte shades, especially as they have similar colours available.

Satin: The Satins fall somewhere in between the Mattes and the Frosts. They have a smooth, very glowy finish to them with little to no shimmer. They are said to reflect light and give a dewy appearance to the eye. Some of my favourite shadows are Satins.

Starflash: The Starflash shades are the newest of the MAC Shadows to be released. They have a creamy, highly metallic finish that glides easily onto the skin.

Veluxe: Veluxe's are smooth, almost matte shades of shadow. They can feel slightly more chalky than some of the other formulas, but with a good base / brush you can achieve some nice, polished eye-looks with these.

Veluxe Pearl: Not to be confused with the Veluxe's, the Veluxe Pearls are probably the smoothest of all MAC's shadows. They have a creamy, buttery texture and range from highly metallic to creamy, almost silky finishes. Love these!

Velvet: Velvets have a smooth, soft finish. But again they can feel quite chalky on the skin, and try not to apply too much since they can look a little crepey if so. Not a favourite of mine, but this finish does have some great shades available.

Overall my favourite are the Frosts, the Matte2's, Satins and Veluxe Pearls.
If you havn't tried any MAC Shadows before, I highly reccomend you do so! MAC have all of their shadows laid out on a rack instore for you to test, so have a look around and decide which ones you think would work for you best :-)

Summary: Couldn't ask for more :-)

Vanilla (Eyeshadow, not the pigment), Omega and probably Satin Taupe. It's too hard to pick just three!
