Advantages: Blendable, high pigment, excellent quality, last ages!
Disadvantages: None I can think of.
I have always found that I am very happy with MAC make up, and I have never really bought anything I have thought to be a waste of money. Their basic little eye shadows are no exception. Great quality eye shadow, high colour pigment, very easy to apply.
I own many shades myself, and at the minute MAC have 126 shades available online, all priced at £12.00 for 1.5g. This might sound expensive, but MAC products really do last well and really are worth the price tag they wear.
"High pigmented powder. Applies evenly, blends well." maccosmetics.co.uk (product description)
MAC have hit the nail on the head with the product description. Very limited information, but to be honest, no more is really needed. I have never had an issue applying the shadow - I use a MAC shadow brush and am able to apply a gorgeous layer of colour to my lids in just one stroke, and I can build the colour up to be as vibrant, or buff it down to be as subtle, as I should wish or require. Every colour I own has been beautiful, and none have been a let-down or of questionable quality. I often layer and blend a few colours together - these shadows lend themselves to this seamlessly. There are so many effects you are able to create, and in all honesty, once you own one colour it is like an addiction! More colours are needed!
The pot is a smaller version of their blushers etc. A functional plastic pot with clear window in the lid. A secure pop top, strong plastic. It looks clean and professional.
This company have an excellent reputation, and these eye shadows are just more proof as to why the reputation is well deserved! Fabulous.
Tip: brush on 'electric eel' across the whole lid (not up to the brow line - leave this clear), then from around a third of a way out form the inner corner - about level with the outer edge of your iris, build up the shade 'deep truth'. Blend the line on the lid so the colours blend seamlessly together (again do not put up to the brow line). Next, add a thin line of 'electric eel' about 1 mm across the bottom lash line of the eye from the inner corner. Now, add a thin line of 'deep truth' the rest of the way across the bottom lash line, and out to the outer corner. Blend. On the very inner corner of the eye, mark a small amount of 'Dig It' or 'Gesso' and blend slightly into the top and bottom lash lines to really open the eyes up. Finish with liner and mascara, or just mascara, however you feel you would like to complete the look.
