Mac Face and Body is a good 'day time' foundation as provides light coverage and is comfortable to wear. With this being said, it is easy to build it up to a heavier coverage. Shopping for foundation has always been difficult but after being recommended this foundation by a make up artist I decided to get a sample at a MAC counter before purchasing. This is very useful- MAC is quite expensive compared to high street brands I did not want to waste money on a product I had not tried. The MAC representative I spoke to gave a good review on face and body and she herself was wearing it at the time! After using the sample for a few days, I bought the full size bottle online and it cost me around £26. While this seems expensive, the quantity given (120ml) will last a long time. A small bottle can also be purchased. In regards to foundation shades, there are quite a lot to choose from. This particular foundation doesn't follow the usual MAC NC/NW coding but that was easily solved as the MAC representative did a colour match for me. The colour she chose was identical to my skin and blended in beautifully.
The product and application
The consistency of F&B is quite runny- this makes applying it quite difficult. The foundation is water based and when applied it doesn't feel like it is clogging pores; it is lightweight and very comfortable to wear. It does have a faint smell but it is not over powering unlike other foundations I have tried. The application of F&B can be quite messy due to its consistency. I find the bets way to apply it is by dabbing the product onto the face and using a stippling brush to buff it into the skin. It would also be perfectly fine to use fingers to blend it in. The foundation gives a great dewy finish and it does not look like you have a heavy face of make up on. After application, I tend to set it with a pressed powder to ensure it lasts longer.
One of the reasons I was not happy with this product was due to it's lack of lasting power- I have combination-oily skin and this foundation can't be used without me blotting my face with powder every 4 hours. This is only made worse in the hot weather! All in all, it is a good product as it allows for a natural, dewy, daytime look. It's very light on the skin and for the the quantity you get, it is good value for money. While it may not work on my skin type, it is a firm favorite with friends whose skin type is more suited to it.
I first tried this Mac Face and Body foundation a few years ago when I was on holiday in Bournemouth. I went into the Mac store looking for foundation and this is the one they said looked the best on me - after trying different ones.
You can get this foundation is bottles of 50ml and 100ml. The one I have is the 100ml which costs around £26. The 50ml is available for around £20.
Applying the foundation: The foundation itself is quite runny. It is described as being a water-based foundation - to me it looks and feels quite oily. I find it takes some effort to get it blend in - longer than other foundations I have used. The foundation feels really light when on.
Once blended in, the foundation looks good (but only if I have prepared my skin beforehand). I find that the foundation turns a darker colour after around 30 minutes of wearing it. So I try not to wear 'too much' as I know that I will end up looking really orange if I do. However, having said that, it does say that you can 'build up this foundation' - so you can put some on, and then after a few minutes put some more on to 'build it up'. However, having turned slightly orange after the first coat - I have never tried this so called 'building'.
I do feel that I need to get my skin in perfect condition before using this foundation. For example, I exfoliate my face around once a week and I feel that this helps the foundation look 'perfect'. I find that if I don't exfoliate beforehand then it doesn't provide as great coverage as when I do exfoliate.
I have combination skin - dry and normal. I find that on the dry areas, it makes my skin look as though it is well moisturised. Whereas on my 'normal skin' area, it makes it look really oily which is annoying. Other than that, the foundation does leave my face looking 'fresh' and 'dewy', and that is the main reason I like this foundation.
I have discovered that if I have a couple of spots then the foundation likes to cover them in a way that makes them stand out - so not great!! As it looks obvious that I am trying to hide my spots!
The foundation slides off quite easily and so I find that it only lasts me around 3-4 hours. I would suggest keeping fingers away from faces as it does come off very easily.
All in all, I would recommend using this foundation, even though it has a few negatives. I use this foundation on and off - I do find that some cheaper foundations (Rimmel's Wake Me UP' do the job just as well, sometimes better. But give this one a go and see how you get on with it.
Thanks for reading!

I have struggled for years trying to find a moisturising foundation which doesn't irritate my skin, apply too thick or go orange once it's fully dried but now I have found my HG foundation. MAC's Face and Body is a lightweight foundation which costs £26 but this provides you with a whopping generous 120mL of the product which is contained in a basic but functional squeezy bottle. Face and Body is one of MACs basic foundations and the shades come in either C (Cool - yellow toned) or N (Neutral - pink/yellow balanced tones to provide a neutral shade) and are numbered from 1(lightest) to 9 (deep ebony) my shade is C1 which is great for evening up my incredibly pale yellow toned with red blotches skin. I would definitely state that the shades do vary across the MAC foundations so I would definitely recommend you test the foundation before trying and the staff are more than happy to provide a sample which will last 3-4 days which is great.
This foundation is great for those of us with dry skin in need of tonal balancing rather than the hiding of blemishes/scars as the foundation is certainly too sheer for that. Face and Body is a liquid foundation which is quite runny but not overly so which makes it glide on the skin resulting in a glowing, sheer and balanced complexion. The foundation is lightly scented with orange blossom however this scent doesn't linger but is quite pleasant upon application. Another bonus of this foundation is that it doesn't dry your skin out and once removed leaves your skin soft and smooth. I have only ever used this product on my my face/neck but would not recommend it as a body foundation as these tend to be used by people trying to hide scars etc and this foundation is certainly not able to provide the required level of coverage to hide anything other than blotches and general skin uneveness. I personally hate using foundation brushes and prefer to use my fingers as I find finger blending to be more even giving a better finish with no streaking I also believe that using your fingers is more hygienic as you wash my hands every time prior to applying wheras foundation brushes certainly aren't cleaned as frequently and therefore trap more crap and have the potential to cause more spots/irritation.
I would definitely recommend this foundation and am amazed at how much product you get for £26 as I previously would purchase Lancome and other premium foundations which were easily the same price or more (Lancome Teint Miracle or Adaptive) for only 30mL which doesn't last very long. Another quick tip is to store the bottle in your fridge to make it last longer and this also makes the application quite soothing.
I had been wanting to try MAC products for a while but was always put off by the hefty price tags. I decided to give one of the foundations a go and decided to try MAC Face and Body Foundation. My first impression was that the bottle was so much bigger than I had anticipated, I was amazed at how much I got! The second impression was that it was an EXACT colour match to my skin (I had bought this from their website so was a bit unsure whether the colour would match the shade shown online). And when I finally used it on my face there is no word to describe how perfect it was! It is quick liquidy so I put a small amount on the back of my hand, and used a foundation brush to apply it to my face. It is so easy to blend and after a few seconds, it sinks in to the skin giving an even and flawless coverage. There was no need for me to use concealer as this foundation had covered ALL my spots and marks on my face. It lasted ALL day, even after a hard days work and looked just as good at the end of the day. It gives a perfect healthy looking glow with out looking caked in make-up. It is amazing value for money as it lasts so long. I have had mine for 8 months, wear it every day, and still have just under half the bottle left. It is my beauty MUST HAVE!
I've known about MAC Face and Body Foundation for years, and originally thought due to the word 'body' that it was suitable to cover any scars or blemishes we feel self concious about. However, this has impressed me in completely the opposite way!
MAC Face and Body is the largest MAC foundation available, offering 120ml, 4 times as much as a regular 30ml foundation bottle! Retailing at £25.50, pricey in itself and also a little bit more expensive than other MAC foundations, it makes up for it with the generous amount of product in the bottle, making it much better value for the money you pay.
The consistency is described on the website as sheer and natural looking and I could not agree more. The foundation is very watery, and can easily be blended into the skin tone. One other difference with Face and Body and other MAC foundations is the shade system. Instead of the NC and NW variation, the colours run relatively neutral, however from C1 to C7 there is still a wide range of shades. I have shade C5 and I am an NC42 in MAC, the colour comes out light but when blended it it looks perfect on my skin, but everyone knows the sheerer the foundation the easier it is to blend in, and this makes up for the lack of specific shades available. Even though the foundation is water-based, there is still a light moisturising quality, making it far better for all skin tones.
I call this foundation a 'Summer Staple' for a couple of reasons. Firstly it is water resistant, making it idea for swimming and the beach if you feel like you need a little coverage, the coverage on this foundation is not heavy, but still manages to give a finish that looks beautiful in photography. Secondly, it feels light and fresh on the face, much better for when your skin needs to be cooler due to the heat.
The only downfall with this product is the large squeeze bottle packaging, which is clearly used so that a person may be easily able to get out a lot of product to apply on their body. However, I personally don't see this foundation as giving any real coverage to any obvious blemishes on the body, it's better to be used on the face, but the bottle can take some getting used to, and if not careful a lot of product could be wasted, as I had to learn a few unfortunate times!
Overall, MAC has created a very decent "sheer coverage" foundation compared to others on the market, and is definitely worth the money. If you are in need of a holiday foundation, be sure to check it out!
I love mac make up, the staff are really friendly and knowledgeable and will advise you on best shade for your skin. I am on my third bottle of this face and body foundation. I mean I Know in the summer months people don't tend to wear as much make up but the foundation last me between 7/8 months sometimes longer. The quality of the foundation means you only need a little at a time to cover your face and neck. I would advice to use a good moisturiser before you apply the foundation just to get a better equal coverage and also to keep your skin soft and healthy. The foundation cost around £23 but if it last 7months that's under £3.30 a month. When I used cheaper brands I was paying between £6-£9 but buying every 2-3months so works out cheaper for better quality. Also if you get addicted to mac make up like me if you take back 6 empty mac products you get free a lipstick. Result!
I have been a fan of MAC for some time now and love the range of products they sell. There is a MAC shop in my city centre which is great as I am not aware of many other retailers selling MAC although I have heard that it is sometimes available in Debenhams. However this is not the case in Liverpool (probably because of the afore-mentioned MAC shop).
I bought the face and body foundation on recommendation from the store assistant - they are great, very helpful and very knowledgeable about their products. I wanted a foundation that would give me good coverage when and where I needed it but would not look heavy. I was also looking for a light reflecting, dewy finish and this certainly does all that.
It has a very odd formula and feels very thin and wet on application but rapidly dries. It is also possible to either work the foundation in the palm of your hand where it will quickly change texture and become thick and creamy or it can be applied in layers until you are happy with the coverage and appearance.
It can also be worn with matt powder over which reduces the shiny appearance. Comes in many shades, I would recommend visiting a MAC shop so one of their assistants can match to your skin tone or preference for darker or lighter look expertly.
It can be used on the body too although I have not tried this.
At around £25 this is not the cheapest but is average for a MAC foundation and it lasts and lasts.
So, in a nutshell, this is a very versatile and unusual foundation, suitable for achieving many different looks.
I've always liked MAC foundations so its quite surprising really how I've never actually got round to reviewing one before. MAC foundations are quite hard to get hold of, as they don't sell MAC in Boots which is where I normally get all of my make up from, and they also don't sell it in the Debenhams in the town where I live either. So I bought this one online. It cost about £25 which I think is really expensive for make up, but I ended up buying it anyway because I had heard so much about MAC foundations and wanted to try one for myself.
I got this in shade C3, as I was buying it online I unfortunately could not test it out first, and at £25 I was taking a bit of a risk now that I think about it. But luckily when it arrived at my house I was very glad to find that the match was perfect and the foundation looked exactly like my skin tone. There are loads of different shades available with this foundation so finding the right match for your skin should not be a problem.
The foundation gave my skin excellent coverage and seemed to make all of my blemishes vanish, also it lasted all day and I didn't need to reapply it at anytime during the day, unlike a lot of liquid foundations where they fade, rub off slightly or form layers, this one did none of those things. It is excellent quality and I was really glad I bought it when I saw how good it was and looked on my skin.
This is for body as well but to be honest I hardly ever use it anywhere but my face because I think it feels quite strange. It feels like it shouldn't be there, sort of thing, and I'm always scared of it rubbing off onto my clothes etc - obvioulsy I don't wear the foundation on skin that is covered by clothing but what I mean is about it being on my bare arms and then accidentally it rubbing onto my clothes or something else. And it also sort of feels like I need a wash. But for face this is excellent.
There is 120ml in the bottle and it does last for ages so I suppose the price can be justified a little in that way. To be honest though it still does seem like loads of money even if you are saving money in the long run. And the other thing is, if you don't like the foundation, you're stuck with a big bottle of it and have wasted the money.
Overall I would definitely recommend this :)
I have tried quite a lot of foundations in the past, including a few other MAC ones but this was always one that stuck out to me. The description on the MAC site really stands out from the rest as giving you a perfect, flawless finish to your skin and who doesn't want that? I am a little ashamed to admit though, that the main reason I wanted it was finding out that Cheryl Cole uses this foundation! I looked up some reviews on YouTube and really liked the sound of it, then I ended up getting it for Christmas!
The bottle is very different to other MAC foundations, it's kind of a plastic squeezy bottle instead of a glass one. When you first squeeze it out, the foundation almost has the consistency of water - it is so thin! However, it still gives a really good coverage and once you get the hang of using it, it really is a very good foundation!
I love that because it's thin, it gives quite a natural and sheer finish, but it definitely works at evening out your skin tone and giving skin a lovely glow. At the moment I just apply this foundation with my fingers because other methods I've used haven't worked with the thin formula, but I find it works very well just like this!
You really only need to use a tiny bit for your whole face, sometimes I use two layers of it if I want more coverage that day, so the bottle should last you a really long time, yet it's the same price as some of the other MAC foundations so you could save money by buying this one!
This is by no means a full coverage, matte foundation, it really has more of a tinted moisturiser type effect and would be perfect for anyone looking for a really easy to use, natural looking foundation just to even out the skin and give a bit of coverage without looking really made up!
I've always had problems picking foundations, either pick one that leaves me extreme white or orange. Never had much luck. I've always heard of people buying mac make up who only had good things to say about their products. And they were right!
I went into the mac store, and asked one of the make up artists to help me find a foundation that suited my skin colour, she explained about their range of reddish tones, and pale tones. She then explained about the actual face and body foundation, how to apply etc. The foundation matched my skin perfectly, she applied it then and there to show me, and my skin looked flawless! Even when i apply it myself its great. Its water based so you dont look completley caked in makeup, its a definate must try.
The people in the mac store are so friendly, i felt welcome there and not pressured to buy anything i never came for.
This foundation provides great coverage, its a good price for the time it lasts, a little is a lot! With the mac employees advice you will ultimatley have a perfect match for your skin and the best ways to apply it.
thanks for reading.
For years I have been switching and changing my foundation to find the perfect one for me, I don't know about you I hate the ones that send you orange even just applying a small amount. I equally hate ones that don't rub in properly and leave lines across your face.
I'd never heard of MAC until it was mentioned on GMTV that they use it for the models - good starting point. I then went onto Utube and a couple of girls on there were product testing it, they seemed to like it.
I ventured onto the website to find this foundation is £23! Usually I have never gone over £10 for my foundation, but with no success I decided to purchase anyway.
So with my purse now emptied by a bottle of foundation, I awaited for my product to arrive, once it did it was very well packed and presented in a lovely black MAC box (which I used to put a gift in as a Christmas presents it was that nice!)
The bottle itself is 4.0 fl, I was quite surprised at this as I expected more 3.0 fl if that, so the price seemed a tiny bit more worth it with the bottle size.
The bottle is quite plain, it's a cream coloured bottle with very little detail on the bottle it has the MAC logo, the bottle size and the fact that it is 'face and body'
The lid is a screw top, to access the product you simply twist off the blue cap to reveal a small pipette like top with a hole
On the back is the address of the London branch - and that's it - I little unimpressed about this, as I had expected more for my money presentation wise - lets hope the product is worth it.

There is no particular odour to the foundation for those that use foundation they all tend to have the same smell, if I had to say one thing, its not a strong smell which puts me off a lot of foundations.
The colour is obviously a creamy colour, they come in various shades I chose C2 as I am quite pale (but not ghostly white - if you were ghostly white you would need C1) C2 is a little more darker, I didn't want it standing out and turning my face to dark to I chose I lighter colour than I normally would and then would apply a slightly darker powder to give me a little more colour, I wanted this foundation for a good base.
The liquid itself is very runny compared to all the foundations ive tried, if you tip the bottle up it will just pour out so be very careful.

How to apply?
The best way to apply is with your fingers, I first tried it with a foundation brush and because its so runny it just soaked into the brush which wasted allot he foundation.
By using your fingers it heats the product up a little and it seem to work much better when warmed in your fingers.
Before applying the foundation I would use a good filler, a good filler will fill in any blemishes or creases that foundations can get stuck in. Of course you don't have to do this, I just find your foundation lasts much longer by doing this.
Once this is done, put a small amount on your fingers tips and work into your skin in a circular motion, you will find the liquid very watery but it soon soaks in very quickly.
I found with this that applying one layer will give you a very light covering, so if your don't wear too much foundation then stop at one layer. Its hard to tell with one layer that you have any one, but it does even your face out nicely - good for just going to work or if you are nipping into town.
If your going for a night out on the town you will need to wait until it has dried, and then apply another layer. By doing this, it provides a flawless finish across your face. You only have to use a small amount as it is very moist and a little goes a long way.

This is called 'Face & body Foundation' I have only ever used in on my face, neck and the tops of my shoulders to ensure it all blended in, I think its great for a face foundation but make me feel a little 'heavy' when applying it in other places.
It would probably be good if you have a particular mole or blemish you would like to get rid off by covering up.
I would definitely recommend this to anyone who has moderate to good skin as its quite thin and doesn't cover up too much with one layer. The good thing is though when applying a second and third layer it does give you a flawless look and I can say that it didn't send me orange either.
As its so runny it was very easy to work in and therefore I didn't have any lines or dark patches. A downside of it being so runny is that it can leave a bit of a shine on your face, if you have oily skin I would avoid this product as it will make your face too shiny and wont complement you at all.
Another negative to mention is it is water resistant, which is great if its raining but sometimes a pain to get off and I find I have to exfoliate or use a face scrub to get it off if I have applied more than one layer
I would definitely recommend this foundation, yes it is a lot of money, but I bought it in October and ive only used half a bottle. It give me the look I was going for without the streaks or lines, a very well made foundation and one I will be buying again.
