“ Brand: MAC / Suitable for: Eye „
I love my false eyelashes and have always been a huge fan of Eylures eyelash range, but I though I would try a different brand as I have never really experimented with different false eyelash brands.
The Mac eyelashes come on a white piece of plastic with MAC written in back in the middle, these are then in a plastic pot packaging. I really liked the packaging it looked a lot more expensive than the other brands which are put in cardboard boxes.
I bought the eyelashes in number 30 which are the individual lashes, as I feel the individual ones are a lot more natural looking. I take the smaller lengths and apply them to the inside corner of my eye, then the middle length ones to the middle of my eye and finally the long ones to the end of my eye. They can be fiddly to apply if it is your first time using them, but with practice they get easier.
These eyelashes do have a down side though, they do not come with glue. I felt that they should have come with this as the eylure lashes are half the price and come with glue and remover. They do recommend a glue on their website, which I have not tried, but on all accounts it is very good. I personally buy the eylure individual lash glue as I really like their glue.
The lashes stay on very well and when applied look very natural. Overall I would recommend them but I do not think I will be buying them any time soon, as I fell they do not offer anything more than the eylure ones do and they charge you £10 without a glue, where as you can buy eyelure for about £5 with the added extras.
I have purchased plenty of false eyelashes in the past and decided i would try MAC eventually. They are absolutely superb! The quality of service in any MAC store is outstanding as they are always willing to help you with any queries or guide you with what products you should use for your skin colour/type, eye colour and even hair colour. I paid £10 for my pair of MAC false eyelashes and the lady was nice enough to apply them for me at approximately 10:30am and they lasted until i took them off at approximately 3:00am the next morning after a Hen Night i attended. This proved that they are brilliant, long-lasting eyelashes. I purchased the glue that they use at MAC too, so that i could apply the eyelashes again and i have applied them about five times all together since i purchased them. They are definitely worth the money because they last and they are light, as it feels like you aren't even wearing false eyelashes!
Description (by MAC, one example in particular)
Natural length. Dense, full, slightly wispy look. M·A·C Lashes are handmade to exact specifications. Each pattern and design is perfectly shaped and arranged to give a striking effect, whether the look is natural or dramatic. Available in a variety of shapes and densities. If properly cared for, lashes can be reshaped or adorned if desired. Lash glue not included.
I much prefer wearing false eye-lashes to mascara. For some reason I find it easier and less messy. MAC are by far my favourite lash brand I will use over and over. Their lashes are of excellent quality and there is one to suit every look. I can't really comment on the compatibility with make-up as I don't tend to wear mascara over the top - but I guess they would be okay.
There really is a whole wardrobe to choose from and this is the only difficulty! Oh, and the fact they don't come with glue..
I had my makeup done by one of the MAC makeup artists on Sunday just gone for a night out and one of the things I asked for was some nice big false eyelashes to complete the Barbie look for the night.
The lashes are priced at £10.00 a pair which is good value for money as they are reusable. I know most false eyelashes are but these are really good quality so they do last and wont break or become flimsy or out of shape after one wear.
The makeup artist chose some nice long thick ones for me and applied them for me.
They looked great, really stood out and made my eyes look really big but what I was worried about was whether they would stay in place until I actually went out. On the way back from getting them done, the wind was really strong and blowing in my face and I could feel it blowing my eyelashes and was worried they would come off but they stayed perfectly in place and didn't even budge at all. In fact, when I came to take them off at the end of the night, they were harder to peel off than usual. Not so hard that it is a negative point though, more just enough to make me confident that they were firmly glued on and wouldn't just come off. This may be more to do with the MAC eyelash glue of course which you buy seperately which is the only negative point I have. Normally a pair of false lashes would cost about £5.00 and come with glue (Eyelure ones for example) but these are £10.00 and a further £10.00 for the glue. However, the lashes really are good quality and harder wearing than normal ones and the glue is a fairly big tube rather than just tester sized.
I would definitely recommend these, especially if you can get one of the makeup artists to put them on for you.
At £8 rrp, these lashes are on the cheaper end of the price scale for false lashes.(I have before purchased another brand for almoast £24..were not worth it at all!). Some of MAC's products do seem to be expensive, and some may argue that £8 is slightly extortionate for false lashes, but these truley are worth it and can be re-used many times (aslong as they are looked after properly).
Whenever I am wearing MAC false eye lashes, I always get complimented on them and I always seem to get asked "Are those your real eyelashes?". This is because although the lashes are quite long, they still look somewhat natural and do not look too plastic (unlike some other brands).
When wearing the lashes, you cannot feel that they are on (if applied in the correct way) and do not cause myself-or any of my friends who use MAC- any eye irritation.
The packaging of the product keeps the lashes shaped (aslong as you put them back on there after you have used them), and can easily fit into a make-up/ wash bag.
The range of different lengths and designs of the false eyelashes which are available to buy ensure that there is a pair of lashes to suit any day time or night time look.
The only downside to these lashes is that the false lash glue does not come with the lashes and has to be purchased separatley. (Although any lash glue works well with this particular brand).However, the tube of lash glue does last for a very long time and can be used for things other than gluing eyelashes,for example-gluing gems onto the face or body.
I would recommend MAC false eyelashes to anyone who likes there eyes to stand out and be the focal point of their face, I swear by this lash brand as the lashes themselves are good quality, are easy and simple to apply and essentially good value for money!
**** Introduction ****
May friend turned forty this weekend and she organised a roller disco, with ans 80's theme. We all had to attend the party dressed up in 80's gear, which was not as hard to do as I first thought as that seemed to be the current fashion a few months ago.
I bought a neon tutu, leggings, leg warmers, fishnet tights and a frankie says relax t-shirt. To finish the look I decided to use my Mac false eye lashes as they were something I had bought a while ago and never used as they were to thick, but perfect for this ocassion.
**** The Lashes ****
These Mac lashes are very thick and give you a thicker fuller looking set of eyelashes, they are the same thickness you would expect a porn queen to wear, so everyday use of this was never acceptable.
You can get these lashes in different densitys so you can get a more natural look for every day use.
These are self sticky lashes that are placed just above your natural lashes, I was sceptical about the self sticking lashes as I imagined they would peel straight off. I found that these lasted both the day and night and I really had to tug at them to remove them.
The lashes come in their own compact case, which is designed for you to place them back into, therefore you can get several wears out of one set.
These lashes cost me 8.50 at the Mac cosmetic shop.
**** My Views ****
I was very impressed that these actually stayed put all day and night, I have no doubt that this have a fantastic staying power.
I have since been online and ordered another set of these Mac lashes in a natural shape and density so I can wear them for any night out.
My original lashes still look brand new and they finished off my 80's outfit perfectly.
I recomend these lashes although I advise you use a thinner more natural set to start.
Nothing makes me feel more ready for a night out than putting on my hair extensions and a good pair of false eyelashes - yes, I'm one for the natural look!!
My personal favourite false eyelashes are from MAC. I tend to go for quite a full-on look with false eyelashes and I love the ones that are longer towards the outer corners of your eyes. This along with some smoky eye make up gives a very glamorous look although it's perhaps not for the faint-hearted!
MAC is a premium brand and at times some of their products can be a little more than I like to pay. However, I feel £8 is excellent value for the quality of this product.
Although now I'm a dab hand at applying the old falsies when I first started wearing them I wasn't too confident about putting them on. This is where I feel MAC really excels - if you buy them at a MAC counter you can have them applied at no extra cost! The girls are always really helpful and explain to you what they're doing as they put them on so you're able to replicate the look yourself.
The eyelashes also come in a little tray, which I find a lot sturdier that the container you get with most false eyelashes. This means it's really useful for keeping them for more than one wear (although quite often when I take mine off at the end of the night I've forgotten where they are by the next morning!)
As I said I prefer the lashes which are longer towards the corners but there is a good selection of different styles available at MAC counters including some which provide a less full-on look.
As you can tell I'm a fan and I've tried a few different brands of false eyelashes but MAC are definitely my current favourites.
There is no better way to complete your look for a special night out than with a pair of false eye lashes.
I haven't really been wearing false eye lashes that long. Past attempts at applying them ended up in disaster so I gave up.
Determination set in and I decided to buy a pair of these from one of my favourite make up brands. I had previously looked in boots, but I liked the variations of shapes and thicknesses that the MAC ones had on offer.
I purchased the 8 Lash for £8.50 from my nearest MAC store. I wanted a dramatic look but nothing that was too over the top, and these were perfect for that.
It took me about half an hour to apply this the first time around as I wasn't used to doing it. I did star off applying them before applying my make up but with continued use, I now find it easier to apply these after applying my make up. I also coat my natural lashes with mascara before putting these on.
Because these lashes don't come with glue, I also purchased to DUO glue at the same time. It is rather pricey at £8.50 but it is a decent sized tube and you really don't need to use that much. This glue can also be used to fix jewels and crystals to your face and body if desired.
The first time I wore these I was worried that they would come off but thankfully this hasn't happened yet.
A good tip that I have is to apply a liquid liner after applying the lashes because it helps to mask any glue that might be visible.
All in all a great product which I would recommend to anyone.
I wear these eyelashes for nights out and they look amazing.. They make my eyes really stand out, without being really obvious that they're fake and without the over the top-ness that some false lashes tend to end up looking like!
The reason i bought these is because when i was purchasing my usual Studio Fix foundation, i spotted them and asked about them. The assistant pointed out that she had some on, and i loved what i saw! So there i was, hooked.
I've bought eyelashes for around £5 in the past, but they had easily bent out of shape and become scraggly within 3 or 4 times using them. I bought these MAC ones for about £10 about 8 months ago! I put mascara on them to make my natural eyelashes stick to the falsies and it easily washes off once i take them off.
My pack came with a small tube of glue but i'm not sure if the stores still do the combined packs. The glue costs around £4 separately, but i use a cheap Superdrug glue that works just as well!
If you aren't really a false eyelash sorta girl, but want a bit of oomph in the eye area, these lashes really are for you. Applying them is really very simple so anybody can do them, you put a tiny amount of glue running along the strip at the top and leave it for around 30 seconds to become sticky. Once it is sticky, push gently into place above your own eyelashes and wait for it to dry before applying mascara as wanted. Then voila! False eyelashes never looked so good!
PURPOSE OF MY BUY
I have always liked makeup, but it is something I have never been able to do perfectly on my own. So while I was shopping in Sheffield recently I wondered in to the Mac cosmetic shop, so I could see what was currently on the market.
I have never been sucked in by the sales consultants trying to give me a free make over, in a bid to get me to spend a small fortune but on this occasion I spotted another lady getting a makeover and she looked fantastic, so as I was looking to purchase something of a night out I had planned for that evening I decided to let the sales girl go for it.
Black is a favourite colour so the girl placed blacks, greys and shimming white shades on my eyes and the smoked them out as she called is with a makeup brush, the finished result was brilliant but as my lashes were so fine and short she suggested I try the Mac lashes to finish the look off.
I was so impressed with the results already I instantly said yes, but I was informed I would need to pay for the lashes, which was not a problem in my book.
The false eyelashes came in a plastic protective case that could be used over and over again, as the lashes were not single use and I could use them time and time again providing I placed them neatly in the protective case after use.
These were many different lengths and styles to choose from, but as a complete novice I asked the girl to choose what she thought would be best. She selected a fine dense set of lashes that were of medium length.
These lashes went perfectly over my fine lashes and gave me added length, I was very surprised how natural they actually looked and I have to say that night no one even noticed my false lashes, although they did comment on how good my make up looked as this was totally different for me.
The lashes a full lash strips which are designed for an easy application, you just apply a small amount of lash glue to the edge of the false lashes and apply them directly to your skin, that sits just above your own eyelashes.
This is why I have never had any success in applying lashes before as I would always try and glue them to my own lashes, so the sales girl did teach me how to apply them correctly.
I was very surprised as these only took a few minutes to apply and for the glue to fully set, usually I got a gap between my own lashes and the false one but the girl advised me to use a black eyeliner first, this then covers and imperfections if you don't apply the lashes perfectly.
The Mac lashes will cost 8.50 and they can be used many times, so if you look after them you will certainly get your moneys worth.
I am very impressed with the Mac lashes and all of the makeup that was used to complete my look, in the end I spent over 60.00 in the Mac shop as I bought everything the girl used on me.
I have tried to apply the lashes on my own since buying them and they are not as good as when the girl applied them but she did tell me it will come with practice.
If you are toying with the idea of wearing false lashes then Mac lashes are the way to go.
I was totally new to the idea of false eyelashes before using these and only tried them primarily after getting my make up done at MAC. I thought that after this I would find them hard to apply and probably wouldn't use them again. I was wrong. I bought the glue with the eyelashes and had watched the lady apply the glue to the eyelashes with the stick of a cotton...and so when doing it myself I did exactly this as it helped to ensure only a thin layer of glue was applied. They also came with instructions which helped me further.
Once on I found they looked extremely natural but helped a great deal in adding length to my eyelashes and gave a large curl. I like my eyelashes to be quite dark and so I applied additional mascara onto the top of these which didn't damage the in any way. I also found that if you're going to re-use them it makes your life easier if you take care of them in terms of removing glue. As I didn't to do this to begin with I found the glue built up and so once on they didn't lie correctly but the glue just pulls right off but do be careful not to damage the lashes. The fact that they come in this compact case ensures that they don't become damaged, just be make sure to lie them flat as they were when you got them!
Overall I would highly recommend these eyelashes, especially as they can be used over and over again. They're great for first time wearers so long as you take your time and you are patient over application. Obvisouly they're a very delicate item, but that would be a concern with any kind of eyelashes and mine haven't any visible damage, even after I've pulled them off time after time at the end of a drunken night!
I think I have mentioned before I am a beauty addict. In particular I have a love for false eyelashes and as a result have tried a number of brands. By far the best brand of false lashes are M.A.C, there are a number of styles available and the products are far superior than any other I have tried on the market... and believe me I have tried around 10 different brands of false eyelashes.
For those of you that have tried beauty products from the M.A.C range you will probably already be converted. The brand provides high quality beauty products which produces professional results. This is definitely the case for M.A.C false eyelashes.
Within department stores the staff working on the M.A.C counter are extremely helpful and offer professional advice to help you find the right product for you. With regard to false eyelashes I have found staff are able to suggest the best lashes which will create the look you are after but also suit your facial features. Once you have purchased the lashes, you are able to leave your details so the next time you visit the counter, the computer system will remember the specific lashes you purchased so it is very easy to make a repeat purchase. The M.A.C website is also useful for helping you find products that suit you and how to apply make up and beauty products correctly.
***Price and Availability***
For a set of M.A.C false lashes you should expect to pay around £8.50. This is more expensive than a pair of false lashes from the likes of Boots and Superdrug but you are paying for a far superior product.
M.A.C lashes are sold at the M.A.C counter in most department stores for example in House of Fraser, Selfridges and Fenwicks. You can also purchase M.A.C false lashes from the M.A.C website. www.maccosmetics.co.uk . The M.A.C website has around 30 different styles of false lashes whereas in department stores I have found they only stock around 10 of the most popular styles.
Within the M.A.C range there are around 30 individual styles of lashes to choose from. Within the range there are those that add length, those that add volume or those that do both. You can also purchase lashes which you apply individually.
I have purchased two different styles of lashes from M.A.C; those to create my day time look (Style 2), which are long and fluttery to add length to my lashes but still and those that create a more dramatic evening look (Style 6). These add volume and length and create a wide eyed look. The lashes themselves are very natural looking and very durable. If you compare these to a cheaper brand you can immediately notice the difference and this makes the M.A.C lash strip much easier to apply.
To note- lash glue is not supplied with the lashes. This is sold seperately and costs £8. This glue will last for over 100 wears therefore is very good value for money.
The packaging of the M.A.C lashes is definite advantage of purchasing these lashes rather than a cheaper pair. The lashes come in a hard plasic container. The lashes are attached to a base which securely holds the lashes in shape when you are not wearing them. This is covered by a hard plastic sleeve which slides off when you want to use the lashes and goes back over once you have worn the lashes. This packaging is extremely hard wearing and you can pop in a make up bag and not worry that you are going to lose the lashes if you are transporting them.
***How to apply false lashes***
Step 1- First of all if you have not applied false lashes before, give yourself an additional 20 minutes to get ready and get used to applying the false lashes. As this is quite a fiddly task you need to take your time. If you are under pressure to get ready for a time, if you do not leave extra time and the lash doesn't go on first time, you are likely to get yourself flustered. This only makes applying the lash more difficult!!
Step 2- Apply eye make up to you eyes, with the exception of mascara. It is advisable to apply a line of black eyeliner to your upper lid. This is because if you do not apply the false lash close enough to your natural lashes the eyeliner will hide the "gap" in between and it creates a more natural look
Step 3- The false lash strip from M.A.C is around 25mm in length. Put this up against your eye and check that this fits your eye. If this is too long trim the lash strip with scissors so it is a suitable size for your eye. Always trim from the inner corners of the lash strip (the length of the lashes on the inner corners will be shorter)
Step 4- Before you apply the lashes set out the right and the left lash strip. You can tell which lash strip is for which eye as the shortest lashes on the lash strip will be applied to the inner corners of each eye.
Step 5- If you are using the recommended DUO glue with the M.A.C lashes (I would highly recommend this lash glue it's the best around - see my review) the apply a thin amount to the top of the lash strip. Leave for around 30 -60 seconds as the lash glue will go tacky and stick to the upper lid easily. If the glue is too wet it does not stick onto the lash immediately.
Step 6- Once the glue is tacky hold the inner edge of the lash with a pair of tweezers and press the lash strip down as close to your natural lash line as possible. If possible try not to stick to your own natural eyelashes as the false lash strip will not sit right and will feel quite uncomfortable.
Step 7- Once the false lash strip is applied to the eye use two cotton bud to hold the strip onto the lash line. Hold onto the lash and apply a small amount of pressure for around 30 seconds. This ensures the lash is fully affixed to your upper lid and it should be nice and secure.
Step 8- Repeat above steps to apply lash strip to your other eye.
Step 9- Apply mascara to your own lashes and the false lashes. This should blend your lashes together and give a fluttery natural look. Depending on the look you want to achieve will depend on the amount of mascara you apply to your lashes. Therefore if you want a dramatic look, I would recommend a thicker coat of mascara, for a more natural look, a touch of mascara will suffice.
Once applied the false lashes from M.A.C create beautiful looking lashes. The two particular styles I wear create a natural daytime look (Style 4) and also a dramatic evening look (Style 6).
Once applied the lashes create length and volume and a wide eyed look. This is great if you want to emphasise your eyes, which I personally feel you cannot achieve by using mascara alone. Even when you have not applied mascara to the false eyelashes, the M.A.C lashes are very black therefore wearing additional mascara is not actually essential whereas with cheaper brands of false lashes you would have to apply mascara.
I have received many compliments from a variety of people that I have lovely long eyelashes and they are very surprised when I tell them I am wearing false eyelashes therefore these do look natural and you do not have to worry about looking like a drag queen!!
The lashes also feel very secure. Because the lash strip is flexible and fits to the upper lash well it remains in place for as long as you want to wear the lashes and decide to remove them. Therefore you do not have to worry about the corners of the lashes lifting from your eyelid and the lash coming off causing embarrassment.
Removing the lashes is very simple. This is not at all painful and although the glue ensures that the lashes are extremely secure the lashes simply just peel off. When you want to remove the lashes hold your eyelid and use a pair of tweezers to remove the lash from the inner corner of your eye to the outer corner of your eye.
Once the lash is removed you can clean the lash by using a gentle make up remover and cotton wool. The M.A.C lashes are very good quality and the lash strip remains intact and lashes do not fall out which occurs with cheaper brands of false eyelashes such as Eylure and Girls With Attitude products. The packaging of the M.A.C lashes is a definite advantage over other brands as the lashes are safely stores and I find that I do not lose the false lashes and the design of the packaging ensures that the lashes remain in shape until your next wear.
I find that because the M.A.C lashes are of a better quality than cheaper brands of lashes available they lash for more wears. For example a pair of cheaper Eylure lashes probably only last me six wears maximum whereas with M.A.C lashes I wear these for around 10 separate wears. The M.A.C lashes have a better overall look to them as the lashes are thicker and flutterier which is my main objective when wearing false eyelashes.
As you have probably guessed from my glowing review of M.A.C lashes I would definitely recommend them to those who already wear false eyelashes or those who are thinking about wearing false eyelashes. Firstly they are very easy to apply which is particular helpful for those who are less experienced with false eyelashes and for those that are short on time but still want the false lash effect.
The range and choice of the M.A.C false lashes makes them far superior to other brands on the market. Ranging from natural styles, to high impact you can achieve lashes which either give you added length, added thickness or both if that is what you desire. This allows you to change your look when you fancy.
The false lashes from M.A.C are more expensive than those you can buy from the likes of Superdrug and Boots but they are of a much higher quality, look noticeable better and will last for longer. My advice would be don't be tempted to buy the cheaper brands as you do not get as many wears out of them and the M.A.C lashes actually work out better value for money in the long run.
Go on flutter your (M.A.C) falsies... you never know what might happen!!
~~~Also posted on ciao 2011~~~
I started wearing disposable / reusable eyelashes a while ago. I would buy them from Tesco with my weekly shop. I think they were meant to be disposable, and for around four pounds this wasnt a problem, however when I kept reusing them until the glue became impossible to get off, or the shape of them became distorted I thought maybe if I invested in some more expensive ones I could reuse them more and get more value out of them, despite paying a higher price for them.
I went to the MAC counter and asked their advice. They recommended these false eyelashes to me. Although they are a little more expensive than what I usually pay I was hoping they would work out cheaper in the long one.
As with all MAC products they come in really classy packaging. It is simple, yet has a stricking effect. It is all black with the MAC logo written on it, which when it comes to make up is like a seal of quality. The eyelashes themselves are on a strip and nicely shaped, to enhance the natural pattern. They are firm and rigid, which made me think that they would hurt my eyes once on, but they didnt at all. The glue was nice and sticky and easy to apply. It did not irritate my sensitive eyes.
These lashes look very pretty when they are on. They do not give a hugely natural effect, but it is not that easy to see they are fake. It is easy to clean the glue off them an reuse them quite a few times, although like anything they have a lifetime and can only be used so many times. They are good eyelashes, but Im determined I can find as good ones cheaper!
Being a hair and beauty buff can have its challenges but this is what keeps me on my toes, having recently completed a professional high fashion make up application course I have decided to pass a bit or my wisdom on to you fellow dooyooers.
Right girls as many of you know false eyelashes have made a major comeback and with this review I and going to review the best affordable false eyelashes on the market and also tell you how to apply them within seconds, to achieve those catwalk eyes we all desire.
ABOUT MAC COSMETICS
Mac is a high end make up / cosmetic company who offer excellent quality make up such as skin care, mascara, eye shadows, eye shimmer particles, compact powders, blushers and much more.
To take fully advantage of the Mac brand you really need to learn how to apply make up in the correct way to ensure you use the products to their full potential. If you don't know how to use make up or how to apply make up then a trip to their web site can prove very valuable, as it will offer help and advise on how to actually you the products correctly.
THE FALSE EYELASHES
The lashes I buy are produced by Mac and are of natural length, which vary between 20mm-25mm in length. I find this is an ideal length of everyone to achieve a long but natural looking eyelash extension.
Buy all means you can buy longer and thicker lashes so suit your requirements, if you a having a wild night out you may chose a thicker and longer set of lashes to enhance you eyes for the high impact result.
What every your needs Mac can provide the perfect set of false eyelashes for you, as they currently product over fifty different designs that vary in length, thickness and colour.
Anyway as I say I always buy the natural length that look very real, so real in fact no one ever notices I actually wear them. So for a first time eye lash I would recommend Mac Wispy No4 as they will give you chance to perfect the application and get used to wearing them.
The Mac lashes are much more durable than the cheaper high street false lashes, yes they are more expensive but each lash extension is hand made and if they are cared for correctly can last for many applications.
These lashes com in their own little Mac compact that has a clear outer casing so you can see the length and style before you buy them, with in the case you will get two false eyelash strips, one for the left eye and one fore the right eye. These are sold as self adhesive lashes but after the first application the stickiness fades and they don't stick, so an additional adhesive is required. You can buy this from Mac also but I would recommend buying a cheap set of lashes from the high street and use that glue as it is just a good for sticking the lashes on.
APPLICATION OF THE EYELASHES
Here I will explain how to apply the eye lashes perfectly, but remember it will be tricky first time round but keep trying and I guarantee you will be chucking them on your eyes within seconds after you have practiced the application technique a few times.
1) Firstly you will need to apply the make-up you a wearing for that day, this will include all consealers, foundations and eye shadows. But it is important not to apply mascara as this will affect the application.
2) Once you have applied your make up you need to apply a very thick line across the top of your eye lid with liquid eyeliner, the line needs to be at least 5mm thick. This may seem too thick but trust me once the lashes are applied you will hardly even notice it, so the thicker the better.
3) Now remove the eyelashes from the packet with tweezers and see if they are a perfect fit for you eye, if they are a little bit to long to fit across your eye line, then gently snip at the inner edge of the eyelash, until you get it to the desired length, before you continue to the next step double check that they are a perfect fit for your eye.
4) Once you are happy with the length select the correct eyelash enhancement for the correct eye, for example the left lash for the left eye. If you are wearing these for the first time they should just stick onto you eye, but I personally add glue to be on the safe side.
5) Once you have a nice thick coat of eyelash adhesive on the false lash you apply it to your eye after fifteen of so seconds, this is enable the glue to go tacky before applying it. Don't be alarmed as the adhesive is white, but once this dries it will become transparent and your eye liner and make up will show through the glue within a few minutes.
To apply to false lashes you do not stick it to your own eyelashes, it is basically stuck to your skin just above your real lashes, try to get is as close to your real eyelashes as you can but they don't need to be glued to them. This is where many feel they have not completed the process correctly as you can see I visible gap in between your eye lashes and the false one.
This is why you need a liquid eyeliner as it disguises any gaps and the false eyelashes look fantastic as if they are really your own. Don't worry you will look like a panda when you have used a thick coat of liquid eyeliner but once the false lashes are applied this totally changes the look of you whole eye.
6) Now apply a thin coat of mascara to blend the false lashes with your own lashes, sometimes you don't need to use additional mascara, but if you don't get the application perfect this will still get you the perfect look you need. So it is not always important to get the lashes on perfectly.
Once the lashes have been applied you are ready to go, this will take you a few attempts to perfect but after only a few tries you will be doing it within minutes.
REMOVAL OF THE LASHES
Many worry about this side of things but removing the false eyelashes is very simple indeed, as they are glued on to the skin with latex adhesive the glue becomes very stringy and soft. Which in itself sounds crazy, as it sticks the lashes completely without them slipping or falling out of place.
To remove the lashes just tug at the lash from the outer edge with a pair of tweezers, this sounds complicated but if really is not. Once you get that slight bit of lift gently pull the lash off from the outer eye to the inner eye. This is very easy to do and is not at all painful just remember to pull it off gently.
If you only plan to wear the lashes once you can also remove them with a normal make up remover, but don't use a remover if you plan to wear them again as it tends to make the lashes clag and stick together.
I personally get ten to twenty applications out of one set of lashes as I do try to look after them. Every time I wear them I replace then in the little Mac compact to keep them nice and in their original shape. I find that if you just pull them off and chuck them in your make up bag they loose the shape very quickly and become very hard to apply after that.
THE MAC WEBSITE
I strongly advise any make up novice to visit the Mac web site at www.maccosmetics.co.uk as you will be able to see what is available to you as a consumer.
To buy anything of use the facilities the site provides you will need to sign up for a Mac account, this just entails you to provide you name, address and email addresses. I have found this very standard for any site you buy from to be perfectly honest.
Once you have your Mac account you can then take advantage of professional make up artists as they will answer any questions you may have, this can either involve advice on the best product of ideas on how to actually apply the make up perfectly.
I have to say I found this very impressive as the lady in question answered my query within a few hours so it is pretty impressive.
At the site you will be able to view a full up to date catalogue of all the Mac products and they also provide true shade charts, so you know exactly what you are buying.
PRICE / AVAILBILITY
To get your self a pair of these impressive false eyelashes, you should visit the web site at www.maccosmetics.co.uk and chose a pair from over fifty different designs, which range from full lash strips, individual lashes, half lashes and definer lashes.
Online you can expect £8.50 for a set of the lashes and the same goes form the Mac shops. I have bought a few different designs and they have always been this price, but if you buy definer lashes they are slightly cheaper.
The Mac web site can also provide you with a safe, latex adhesive that will provide you with enough glue for over eighty false lash applications. This is also priced at £ 8.50 a bottle.
You can also buy these lashes from Mac stores which a usually located in major cities and towns such as Liverpool, Manchester, Sheffield, Leeds and many other places across the world.
I strongly advice you try the Mac site and sign up for an account, you don't need to buy anything it is completely free of charge, and you can get access to professional advice that has really benefited me during my course.
Yes you can buy the high street false lashes but they don't compare to these Mac lashes in my opinion, as the Mac lashes are all hand made to a perfect shape, that give you a very impressive effect. It is very rare that you actually need to trim these so they are also a lot quicker to apply.
If you are trying the lashes for the first time, my advice to you is go natural especially if you are wearing these throughout the day, once you perfect the thinner natural lashes then experiment with the thicker fuller lashes.
Many will now say yes I will try this but I will buy the cheap ones, yes I advise you try the cheaper lashes until you perfect the application this will not do any harm but once you have perfected the application these Mac lashes are a must for the quality and look they provide you with.
