“ Brand: MAC / Balm / Type: Lip Treatment / Suitable for: Lip „
This product certainly attracts a lot of attention. Everytime I get it ou of my bag, someone has to say to me "Why do you have a see-through lipstick?". To which I have to reply: "It's not a lipstick, it's a lip treatment - like a lip blam". Ahhh.
The packaging certianly is rather lovely for a lip balm. And I agree - it does look like a lipstick. Same packaging, same shape. Easy mistake to make.
The price tag for this is £12.50 direct from MAC - not cheap! Especially not cheap for a lip balm.
The website describes it as "Colour-free. Texture-free. Provides natural healthy-looking lips". Colour free: Agreed. Texture free: Agreed. Healthy looking lips: I guess so - in the same way that any lips covered in blam look healthy.
This isn't greasy, it isn't oily, it isn't waxy, to be fair it isn't much of anything. It's soft and smooth, doesn't come off in clumps like some balms do. It doesn't smell or taste of anything. It's inoffensive, and I personally, am indifferent to it.
There's nothing wrong with it, but it doesn't amaze you with it's magical powers to keep your lips soft and lovely. In fact, I would say I had to apply it several times a day, which is a bit disappointing for a MAC product. I kind of hoped the "treatment" would leave my lips feeling soft and not needing to be applied 10 times a day like a normal chap stick. Maybe I hoped for too much. But at the price, I just don't think it's worth it.
