I purchased my first Mac Lipglass roughly a year ago at Bicester Village. As soon as I stepped out of the shop I had it out of the smart little box and straight onto my lips!
The first thing I noticed was that the colour of the tube was exactly the same as how it went onto my lips. The texture took a little getting used to as it is quite thick but the plus side to this is that it lasts a long time. It also doesn't budge at all or seep out of the lipline. The look of the lipglass is wet and shimmery, exactly how you see it in the magazines!
The packaging is simple but smart, it gives me a little rush getting it out in the ladies too to reapply - no collection 2000 for me ; )
Now I have tried it I won't wear any other lipgloss. It lasts for a decent amount of time too without reapplying.
I should mention however two small negative points first being the stickyness - my boyfriend refuses to kiss me with it on! Secondly at £13.50 its also slightly more expensive than other glosses I have bought, it lasts much longer though so I'm prepared to pay it!
I bought this product as i am always impressed with Macs make up selection and the look they create. So i bought this lipgloss in a nude/clear colour.
The tube is is clear plastic so you can see how much of your lipgloss you have left with a black lid and the brand name printed on the front in black. The lipgloss brush is a fluffy brush, which is one of my favorites, as it is soft on your lips when applying and does not leave behind and hairs from the brush.
I bought the lipgloss is the natural colour as i think it is perfect for the day time when i like to leave my lips very natural looking, but also had to find something that did not have too much colour in as i like to apply it on top of my pink lipstick if i am heading out for the night. I like the colours lipstick provide but the glossy effect lipgloss' give, so have to apply the both when im out somewhere nice. I also liked this lipstick as it did not have a glitter in it, just a shine something which i feel looks more sophisticated.
When applying the lipgloss i found it was quiet thick and did have a sticky feel for a few minutes until i had blended it in properly. Due to its thick texture i found the shine lasted quite a while, this is something i love about this lipgloss, as i have had terrible trouble in the past finding a lipgloss that actually lasts, even when it is no longer visible you can still feel the soft texture on your lips as if you had applied a lip balm. I did not find myself reapplying very often only after eating, but that is something i like to do anyway to keep my lips looking polished. I have also noticed it has a lovely vanilla smell to it, which i think gives it that something extra.
Overall i would highly recommend this lipgloss, as it gives a great shine, which really lasts, but it is quiet expensive at around £14, so i do tend to try and keep it for when i am trying to make a statement. But none the less i love it.
"A unique lip gloss available in a wide variety of colours that can create a high gloss, glass like finish, or a subtle sheen." ... "It's pigmented, very shiny, and can impart subtle or dramatic colour" MAC website; product description.
One thing that I am in no doubt of is this product from MAC can indeed create a "high gloss" and a "glass like finish". When wearing this gloss it is like there a millions of tiny diamonds on my lips all reflecting the light. My lips are covered in a luscious and beautiful coating of colour and shine. I think the description of the ability to apply a subtle sheen is, however, somewhat misleading. For me, yes, one coat is fairly subtle and I can just see that I have a lovely light coat of gloss on my lips. But, for someone who maybe was not used to wearing gloss, or is not used to a sparkly product, would find the single "subtle" coat too much and far away from the description of "subtle" itself. I tend to apply three or four coats of the product and really go for a good shiny and sparkly finish! That is a good thing about this product, it can be built on. Many glosses, I have found, lack this ability, and this gives the MAC Lipglass serious kudos in my opinion.
"...perfect product for creating shine that lasts." MAC website; product description.
This statement on the description, I do have a slight disagreement with. Although the gloss is a thick coat, and although it does last longer than some other products I have used in the past, I do not personally describe this as actually "long lasting". Have a drink, a bite to eat, or kiss someone on the cheek, and you find it disappears. Even without those contributing factors, I do find the high shine and high sparkle can wear off fairly fast. There is some glitter and colour still left behind, but the high gloss/heavy coverage itself is gone. And actually, speaking of glitter, I will point out, no matter how neat you apply it there is always glitter appearing around your mouth and face!
"It contains jojoba oil to help soften and condition the lips" MAC website; product description.
The above statement I do agree with in its entirety. After using this Lipglass, my lips feel very soft. Some products I have used in the past leave me feeling as though the hydration has been taken from my lips, and I need to apply more not only to replace the colour and shine, but also to rehydrate my lips. This, however, may come off the lips but left behind is rather lovely conditioned skin. It does gain extra kudos in this area, for where so many other products can fail.
"...lipglass in packaged in a convenient bottle with a sponge tip applicator that provides quick, smooth, even application." MAC website; product description.
The bottle is certainly a mess free and easy way to store and apply the gloss. The sponge is of a good size so you can apply the gloss mess free and easily, while still being small enough to allow the user to be precise. The bottle stays clean, and the sponge lasts well. The plastic casing seems of high quality, and the information on the body clearly printed. The print does come off with time however, but, this is not a huge deal as long as you do not want it to always say "MAC Lipglass" and have the ingredients etc displayed. The tube is clear which allows the colour and sparkle of the gloss to show through. I think this adds a nice visual aspect, and makes the packaging even more appealing. The gloss is so beautiful and of such high quality that there is no need to hide it behind coloured plastic.
This gloss retails from MAC at £13.50 for a 2.4g tube. I think for the high quality products that MAC deliver and for the fact this is, even with slight faults, head and shoulder above many other products, that £13.50 is a fair price. It is a premium brand, with premium products, and as long as the desired effect is super sparkle then you will be very happy with this for the price paid (I think!).
I recently got a £50 MAC giftcard from my bestfriend for my birthday so made a visit to the store in Covent Garden to try and spruce myself up a bit! I find I have quite big lips so bought a really nice lipstick as something new and knowing how popular they are, I also treatef myself to a lush lipgloss! (Aka lipglass lol)
I bought the pro-longwear which was a red colour called Driven by Love for £17. The MAC lipglass comes in a small clear tube which you can see through to show the colour of the lipgloss. This is ideal as the colour you see really is the colour you get on your lips! The lipgloss has a wand applicator which I prefer as its easy to apply and this wand means I can give an even, simple coverage on my lips.
The lipgloss itself is a really thick, high sheen consistency and gives a glamorous long lasting finish. The colour lasts me about 4hours what with me munching here and there before I think I need a new coat. Very little application is good for me as it means this will last longer! This lipgloss is slightly sticky but not to an extent it annoys me.
Overall I quite like this lipglass from MAC however in terms of my average £4.99 rimmel lip gloss I don't think I would normally pay the added £10+ but for expenditure of a gift card I love it!
I am a fan of the clour range of the Lipglasses however they are more expensive than similar cheaper ones. The range has a great clour range, so if you like the colour then I would suggest you go for it. It is long lasting, which is fantastic. I suppose the trick is in the name 'lipGLASS' and I would say it gives you a great sheen on your lips which does look like glass.
I do have extremely dry lips, so the lipglass range is brilliant as it gives me temporary moisturisation and it covers it up well.
I personally like to use lipglass over a lipstain, as the lipstain holds the colour on your lips for longer. Then you can just top up as and when you feel the need to.
I love MAC products but I would probably say more for the way it looks in my make up bag. Some of my favourites from the range is pink poodle, which looks quite a vibrant pink but when you apply it, its not quite as bright as it looks but just enough so you can tell. This also covers 2 freckles I have on my lips.
Another one I like day to day is PRRR which is more of a natural tone and even though it does have colour it looks nude.
I use a number of MAC products and love their look, vibe and feel and also love how they make me look. According to an article I read, the name "MAC", is an acronym for "makeup art cosmetics" and it basically refers to the companies commitment to producing makeup and accessories of the caliber of quality that would be expected by todays professional makeup artist.
I definitely agree that they have a very high quality and that really shows in their products.
On their website, lipglass is described as, "A unique lip gloss available in a wide variety of colours that can create a high gloss, glass like finish or a subtle sheen. Designed to be worn on its own, over Lip pencil or lipstick, tinted lipglass is the perfect product for creating shine that lasts. Its pigmented, very shiny and can impart subtle or dramatic colour. It contains Jojoba oil to help soften and condition the lips. Tinted lipglass is packaged in a convenient bottle with a sponge tip applicator that provides a quick, smooth, even application.
I love the look this lipglass gives my lips. It is quite a sticky lipgloss which I don't always like in lipglosses but with this brand I make an exception as I love the colours and the way this gloss stays on my lips for a very long time, providing me with colour on my lips for the whole time I want it to. The stickiness is a bit annoying at times as if its windy I always get bits of my hair sticking too it but after a while the stickiness dies down and you are just left with wonderful colour and still quite a bit of shine. When you first put the lipglass on though you do get a lot of shiny colour and it does give quite a striking look. The sponge tip applicator holds a lot of product in it so you always get a nice coverage with just one swipe of the wand. THe sponge presses against your lips well and applies the gloss well.
I only really wear one colour that I have purchased over and over again and that is a colour called Explicit. MAC always have really interesting make up names and I think this one is quite fun and naughty. In a way it makes the lipglass more interesting and exciting. Explicit is a browny/gold colour with quite a lot of shimmer and shine it in and makes my lips really nice looking. It really works with my skin tone and goes well with quite neutral colours such as golds and pinks.
I have never worn this lipglass over another lipstick so I cannot comment on how that works, I just wear it on its own and I think that is enough for me, I think it would be too much if you wore it over lipstick too.
A 4.8g tube costs £13.50, a bit expensive yes but lasts such a long time and is a lipgloss I recommend.
First of all, I have no idea why MAC like to call a blatant lipgloss a 'lipglass' alas this is the real name of the product therefore what I will call it. This is a review on them all as a whole and not individual colours..
I first was introduced to MAC when watching youtube beauty videos, people were always mentioning the company and how good their products were so I thought I would go have a looksie for myself. It just happened that my local MAC was in Nottingham and I came across it by accidentally walking past. I thought I'd go in and have a look to see what was on offer.
At first i was overwhelmed by how the shop looked and where everything was, but after a quick browse round I found the lipsticks and lipglasses. They were all neatly displayed on a sort of tiered mini shelf in order of colour and texture. I picked up a few to test on my hands as a swatch to see the colour payoff and I was very impressed. I could have spent hours in there but decided on 2, paid between £11.50 and £13.50 for each one.
The lipglasses are packaged in an elegant black box with MAC written on the side in white writing and has all the weight and information on the box too. The box opens very easily to reveal the product purchased inside.
The lipglasses are about 5 inches in length, though only about 3 inches of that is product (4.8g). They are in a clear tube with a black lid and look very sleek and nice. To open, all that is needed is a couple of twists of the lid and to pull the applicator out and apply.
On the tube it says 'MAC lipglass' in small print and on the bottom of the tube it says the colour, the number, and where it was made etc just so that you know which colour you are using and if you want to repurchase online or something.
The colour purchased can be easily seen through the tube which I like as some colours differ when on the lips.
The application is very easy. It goes on really smooth and sheer (depending on the colour depends on how sheer it is). The one thing I will say though is that they can be pretty sticky which some people don't like, I personally don't mind this as at least i know its still there!
I wouldn't say that these wear off that quickly, they stay on a good couple of hours without needing to be reapplied, however if you are drinking a lot it can wear off faster than it would normally, just like any other lipgloss.
Would I recommend them? Yes, if you can afford it, try one, some of the colours that they sell are beautiful and there is so much choice compared to other brands. If you are not sure which colours suit you, the assistants are always willing to help and advise you on what looks best on you.
MAC is available to buy online, in selected airports and stores, its best to check online where your closest MAC is.
Lipgloss is one of my essential items in my makeup bag. I have been trying lip gloss from different brands . There some items I like and there are some I don't and MAC is one of those I like!
I bought my current MAC lipglass upon the recommendation from the makeup artist I met on my friend's wedding. He did a wonderful job in turning my friend into a very beautiful bride so I trusted his recommendation! Luckily he did a good job in making recommendation too and I love this MAC Lipglass.
The package is simple. It comes in a long slim plastic tip with screw-on top. The lipgloss is the one which you can apply with a wand and not those in a plastic tube. I love using this type of lipgloss because it is easier for you to control the amount of lipgloss. It is also easier to spread the lipgloss evenly on your lips.
- The product-
There are a variety of colour for you to choose from. The one I am currently using is Nymphette, which is a pink colour with some sparkling effect. I find this colour a very flattering colour and easy to match with all type of makeup and outfit!
I don't normally wear a heavy make up during the day and all I would do is to put a layer of mascara, some blush and a layer of lipgloss. Then I am ready to leave home! This MAC lipgloss has a good colour and a subtle sparkling effect even if you only apply one layer on your lips. It is quick and easy which is very important in the morning!
This lipgloss is suitable for the night too. All you need to do is to apply an extra layer and it will give a good sparkling effect, making you looking gorgeous during the night!
- Removing the product-
This lipgloss can easily be removed. All you need to have is a gentle lip makeup remover and it can be removed by a simple wipe.
I first bought one of these MAC lipglasses when I was about 16 and I loved it as it was one of my first pieces of makeup from a premium brand. I have been using them on and off since then.
I bought my current lipglass a few months ago from the stand alone MAC shop near Holborn. I currently have the shade Lovechild which is a kind of plum pink colour, darker than what I would normally choose, but I am happy with this shade for a change. There are over 40 shades available on the MAC website.
The lipglass comes in a short tube with a wand applicator and I apply the lipglass straight onto my lips with the wand. This makes it very quick and easy to put on with no fuss or mess. I prefer this kind of wand applicator over a tube with a slanted edge which you are supposed to squeeze directly onto the lips, as the wand gives you the right of amount of product and there is no risk of squeezing too much out. It is easy to apply the lipglass evenly and neatly. The tube has the MAC logo on the side, and I find that this print fades and rubs off very easily. However, this doesn't bother me too much.
This lipglass is very pigmented and has a high colour pay off. My shade, Lovechild, can be very dramatic if you use a thick coat and it has quite a glossy and slightly wet looking finish if you apply it generously. However, if you use just a small amount you get the colour without such a glossy finish, so it can be toned down a little bit to make it subtler. I find it quite versatile.
The lipglass feels a little bit sticky and I can sense it on my lips for most of the time that I have it on! This does not bother me too much, in fact I quite like the fact that you can feel it is still there so you don't need to look to see whether it has faded! However, some people might not like the sensation. It does not feel drying. It contains Jojoba Oil which MAC says helps soften and condition the lips. It doesn't feel as softening as a lip balm but the sensation of it is okay. The fact that it is sticky does mean your hair can stick to it in the wind, which can be annoying.
The best thing about this MAC lipglass in my opinion is that the colour really lasts. Its staying power is much better than most lipglosses I have tried, and it even lasts through some eating and drinking, although these activities do cause it to fade a bit but it doesn't completely disappear. This means the fairly small tube does last quite a long time as it doesn't need to be constantly reapplied throughout the day.
The tinted lipglass costs £13 for a tube containing 4.8g. I would recommend them to anyone who doesn't mind a bit of stickiness in their lipgloss and I am sure I will buy a few more of them again in the future!
MAC Tinted Lipglass
I've been having some lip-smacking fun with my MAC Tinted Lipglass to hopefully provide you guys with a decent review of it! So, breathe in, here we go...
~~~~~A Little Bit About MAC~~~~~
I decided to include a little bit about the brand for those of you who have never used MAC makeup. MAC is a well-established brand, notorious for their good-quality products. Like most makeup brands you can buy pretty much all your makeup from them as they have an unbelievably extensive range. It was originally founded in Canada in 1984, but has since evolved into a global brand. Interestingly, MAC's parent company is Estee Lauder Companies - perhaps providing some explanation for the somewhat hefty pricetag of their products. It's a trusted brand, initially developed for professional makeup artists but now available to all. Yay!
~~~~~What Is It? ~~~~~
MAC Tinted Lipglass is quite simply, extremely glossy lipgloss with a glassy sheen - hence the name. I had a little knock-about the internet to discover there are about a million shades of Lipglass (actually 94 by my count, probably more) LipGelée and a 'Pro-Longwear Gloss Coat'. Sooo there's LOADS available for all you lipgloss lovers. I started listing them, but the list is so long that I've moved it to the bottom of the review. I have Poetic License which is a sort of shiny beige-pink colour.
~~~~~Applying the LipGlass~~~~~
The gloss is very easily applied in pretty much one swipe for each lip; a testament to its lovely thick texture. The gloss transfers effortlessly from the wand to my lips, and has a light vanilla scent. I don't really need to go over it as it is so divinely rich and creamy, so this product definitely lasts a long time - which is should considering the price! (Around £13). No matter what I wear on my lips I have to wipe around the edges of my lips so that I don't have lip-wear all over my face. This could just be my own ungainliness though!
~~~~~The Result: My Likes and Dislikes~~~~~
I can successfully report that it undeniably does what it says on the tin, and coats my lips in a shimmering, glass-like finish. My lips are fully coated after very little application, exactly what I would expect from a high-quality makeup product. My lips don't stick together when I smack them against each other; instead they feel smooth and velvety. Additionally, as the gloss is so thick it lasts far longer than most lipglosses I've ever tried. I'm quite fidgety and reapply more than I should - but would hazard to guess that if you don't touch your lips the gloss would probably stay on for a good hour, perhaps longer. I've found that if I leave it alone it's the glossiness that reduces before the actual colour; the colour lingering for quite some time and definitely considerably longer than most glosses I've tried.
I would love to leave it there and say this product has no flaws; sadly that's not the case. Possibly my biggest complaint would be that although it is quite an intense gloss, it still can't quite mask the slight ridges in my lips, and I worry that because it's so shiny it proves opposite and actually emphasises them. Furthermore, though smooth on my lips, this is extraordinarily sticky if you touch it with your fingers! And it doesn't come off unless I properly wash my hands, instead of sneakily trying to wipe them on my leggings. In fact I've managed to cover my laptop mouse in lipgloss. Not good.
Another niggle is that it doesn't taste like it smells! It appears to be flavourless - but I guess that's better than tasting papery like some cheaper glosses.
The particular shade that I use - Poetic License - is a light beige/nude pink. I have fair to medium skin, and normally shy away from using lip colours that are pale as I worry about looking unwell. However I can happily comment that for whatever reason this shade actually suits my face! Perhaps it is its glossiness - if it were matte I might look like I had one foot in the grave.
Lastly, the price has to be commented on - it is expensive for lipgloss, ranging between £12.50 - £17.00 for a single tube. Rest assured though - it does last ages!
Like a lot of the Lipglass products, mine comes in a plastic tube with a sleek black top. The wand comes out with a satisfying pop which I love playing with - although you really shouldn't do this often as it forces air into the tube, drying out the gloss quicker. I always love products that have transparent casing as you can see how much you have left - although as the gloss is so thick it is a bit difficult in this case. The wand itself has a little foam-like tip, which is shaped to ease application onto the lips and feels very supple and soft. The durability of the wand is excellent, maintaining its structure and ability to affix the gloss throughout the entire period of use, until the gloss runs out.
~~~~~Price and Availability~~~~~
As MAC has a vast range of lip-wear, you can easily find an immense choice available online through various retailers, although you can purchase directly from the MAC website (http://www.maccosmetics.co.uk) for similar prices. Additionally, MAC products are available in shops like Debenhams and Selfridges. The Lipglass series can vary in price somewhat, depending on limited editions and size. I've listed average prices below:
Viva Glam Gaga Lipglass series: £12.50 (4.8g/ 0.17 US Oz)
Wonder Woman Lipglass series: £17.00 (10.5g/ 0.37 US Oz)
Viva Glam Cyndi Lipglass: £12.50 (4.8g/ 0.17 US Oz)
Cremesheen Glass series: £16.00 (2.4ml / 0.08 US FL Oz)
Tinted Lipglass series: (4.8g/ 0.17 US Oz)
Dazzleglass series: £16.00 (2.4ml / 0.08 US FL Oz)
Plushglass series: £16.00 (2.4ml / 0.08 US FL Oz)
Lustreglass series: £12.50 (4.8g/ 0.17 US Oz)
LipGelée series: £12.50 (15ml/ 0.5 US FL Oz)
Overall Lipglass is a fantastic gloss - there's a colossal range of shades to choose from, it is superb quality, lasts ages and does what it says on the tin and keeps those lips glossy! However, with good quality comes high prices! Probably not best for those on a budget!
Thank you for reading my review.
As I mentioned at the beginning of my review, I began listing the various shades of gloss and then suddenly realised what I'd got myself into. There is only about, ooh, a GAZILLION shades available! But me being me, I couldn't stop what I'd started, so I've moved the list to here. I am the ultimate geek, I actually copied each individual shade from the official MAC website itself and did NOT copy off anyone else! Don't think anyone else is crazy enough! So if you're interested, here it is (for full details please see http://www.maccosmetics.co.uk):
On my last minute breakfast dash this morning on this particularly windy day my hair blustering in face it occurred to me that lip-gloss, or lipglass, is not designed for people with long hair, or people who eat! Especially Mac's tinted lipglass!
My shade - she's a star, a sheer champagne nude with a gold sparkle which is part of a collection named "Naked honey" I got this as part of a Christmas present from my friend. I have been obsessed with nude lips for years so was extremely happy when I was presented with this gift as normally I would not fork out the price for Mac cosmetics. She's a star originally came out with MAC's A Mei collection in early 2008 but was a very limited collection. It was then re-leased with the Naked Honey collection. I AM the go to girl when it comes to lip-gloss and always have been, its sort of become a joke among friends "Do you have any lip-gloss?" and I pull out 5 shades from my never-ending suitcase of a handbag!
You can buy this product from Mac counters worldwide - Harvey Nichols, Selfridges, Browns, Fenwicks, Debenhams...Any deparment store with a counter! Or even better DUTY FREE from an airport ;)
A bit about MAC found on Wikapedia
"MAC Cosmetics was founded in Toronto, Canada by Frank Toskan and Frank Angelo in 1984. The first U.S MAC store opened in 1991, in Greenwich Village, New York. The company's products were initially specifically designed for professional make-up artists, but are now sold to consumers worldwide.Estée Lauder Companies acquired controlling interest of MAC in 1994, then completed their acquisition of the company in 1998. One year prior to the acquisition, original founder, Frank Angelo, died in 1997 due to complications during surgery."
What the website says:
"A unique lip gloss available in a wide variety of colours that can create a high gloss, glass-like finish or a subtle sheen. Designed to be worn on its own, over Lip Pencil or Lipstick, Tinted Lipglass is the perfect product for creating shine that lasts. It's pigmented, very shiny and can impart subtle or dramatic colour. It contains Jojoba Oil to help soften and condition the lips. Tinted Lipglass is packaged in a convenient bottle with a sponge tip applicator that provides a quick, smooth, even application."
And more importantly as I am sure you will all agree (or not - I'll have to check the rates ;) ..) MY opinion
Ok...the first time I tried this product I was in heaven, as previously stated I LOVE nude lips and this product works great on its own or even with a hint of concealer underneath for full effect, the colour is great! As I applied the lipglass in its small understated clear plastic tube and black cap the smell came at me, gorgeous and sweet with a hint of co-co butter & vanilla, mmmmmmm! Great applicator, a little furry tipped stick (which I was happy about as with the brush tips the hairs always fall out - bad look!) and the staying power is also brilliant......however.....and this is a big however, the reason behind this is the thickness of the product and as soon as I took a bite in to my pan au chocolat (SSSH IT'S FRIDAY - chocolate for breakfast is essential!) I had pastry all over my lips...not the best office look!!!!
I really am torn with my thoughts on this?!
Smell = AMAZING
Colour = PERFECT!
Texture = Thick = A bit tacky on your lips = Staying power = Hair in face = Annoyance
I guess it is a lot to ask from a product and I really am fussy about my make up but priced at £14.00 for a 4.8g bottle I do expect it to tick all the boxes...and it doesn't. It's not a long shot, it is a great product and I would buy it again...but not for that price!! We do have a discount shop @ designer outlet with last season Mac cosmetics so I would probably buy it from there in future if I was able to get a good sale item.
Ingredients (taken from packaging):
Hydrogenated polyisobutene, jojoba oil, octyldodecanol, carnauba wax, tocopheryl acetate, propylene carbonate, quaternium-18 hectorite, silica, flavour (aroma), isopropylparaben, butylparaben, isobutylparaben. May Contain: Mica, titanium dioxide, iron oxides, blue 1 lake, carmine, red 6, red 7 lake, red 30 lake, yellow 10 lake.
I think I am going to have to buy this in a brighter colour to truly appreciate the staying power and compromise the stickiness in return. I am certainly impressed with it BUT not quite enough for the price. Get me to the discount store and I'll take it from there...keep your eyes open for a new potentially better write up of the Mac lipglass :-)
3/5 ...for now!!!
I have one lipglass from mac in the shade 'plus luxe', which is a bright red. Unfortunately this does not appear to be listed on the mac website anymore, leading me to believe it may have been limited edition. I will therefore attempt to make this a generic review of lipglass in general and hope that it holds true for the rest of the collection.
For starters, the lipglass retails currently at £11.50 on maccosmetics.co.uk. Each tube contains 4.2ml of product. The gloss has a black top with a wand attached, this screws into the tube of lipglass. The wand picks up a very ample amount of product, the top of the tube is wide enough to let it pass through without scraping all the product off which is a bonus.
The lipglasses contain what looks like very fine glitter dust in them, giving the lipglass an irridescent light reflecting quality. When applied the lipglass gives amazing definition to the lips, for example I often apply the red one I own over the top of Benetint lipstain from Benefit, the two compliment each other perfectly, with the lipglass giving the strong definition which the Benetint does not. The lipglass I have is very well pigmented whilst still remining sheer.
One downside to the product in my opinion is that it appears to be one of those lip products which seem to almost burn a little when applied. This isn't a massive issue, it doesn't cause me pain it's just a bit uncomfortable. It does go away and I hear that products which give very defined and long lasting colour can do this. As a result of this however I do find that it sometimes dries my lips out a bit. On the upside the staying power of this product is one of the best I have experienced, it lasts a long time, although it can need touching up if you are drinking/eating, but the tube is small anyway this could be carried around with you.
Overall I would give the product 4/5 because it does perform it's job well, it's just a shame that it can dry my lips sometimes, also I feel that it is a tad overpriced for the amount of product that you get in the tube. If you used this everyday I think it would run out quickly and therefore I use it as an occasional look rather then a daily one.
MAC is one of the leading names in cosmetics today; if you use their products often then you'll know that this title is well-deserved. They certainly live up to expectations with their Lipglass, one of their most popular products on the market.
MAC lipglass comes in lots of different shades. The tubes are quite small, so it doesn't look like you get much in there for what you pay, as it's quite pricey at £8.99-£9.99. However, because it's so shimmery, you don't need to apply much for it to be noticeable, so it's very good value for money.
The sponge applicator is slanted slightly so it goes on easily and stays on. The lid is screw-top so I've never yet suffered a leak. It looks fantastic on, and all the shades I've ever used shimmer in the light.
The only downside to this product is that sometimes the lipglass can get a bit gloopy if you apply too much, and make the bottle a little bit sticky if you don't put the lid on tightly. Aside from that, I'd reccomend this product to anyone!
I am one of these people that always used to begrudge paying a lot of money for make up but it wasn't until I discovered MAC makeup I realised just how wrong I was. I have 2 of the MAC Lipglasses and they are an outstanding product.
They are slightly tinted in colour and have a glossy shine to them once on your lips. They come in a wide variety of colours so there is always something suitable for everyone. It was about £10 but was well worth the price. Mine have lasted ages as you only need a small amount every time you use them. I find it stays put quite well too once on. I much prefer these to any other lip gloss I have ever tried. Definately a girls best friend!
They come with a built in sponge applicator and so is very easy to apply without getting it all over the place!
The only problem I have with MAC is that it is only sold in Selfridges and Harrods. As I live in a really small town, I don't very often have the opportunity to buy it. I do however go a bit mad when I do find a MAC counter!! It is also available over the internet but I personally prefer to browse and try before I buy.
Lip gloss is an item that any girl should use it is a product that is great if you are going out as it finishes the look or if you are going for a minimal look with a little bronzer, mascara and lip gloss will complete that natural look that you want.
The Tinted lipglass is a product that fits the bill and ticks all of those boxes that you need from a lipgloss. It comes in a wide range of colours and gives a glossy shine. The possibilities that you can have with tinted lipglass is great as you can wear this alone, over lip liner or a lipstick as it makes it last longer, although I just wear it alone as I think that with a wide variety of colours there is something for every occasion, I use the shade I need with out the expense of more products.
Tinted lipglass helps to condition your lips and its easy to apply, I always apply with a make up brush, but when I am out and want to reapply the bottle comes with a wand in the lid with a sponge applicator to smooth over your lips in one simple swoop.
The colours that are available are Dreamy, Russian red, Prrr, Revealing, Snowgirl, Chai. Madcap. Oh Baby and Pink Poodle. My favourite natural looking everyday lipglass is Pink lemonade which is a baby pink shade.
Mac have once again brought out a great product and if you love this I guarantee that you will like a lot of other products in the range, the range has a wide variety of colours they have a colour for every outfit.
The only downside that I find and I have the problem with all lip glosses is that its very sticky and when I have my hair down I have to try and keep my clean and styled hair from sticking to the gloss.
