Advantages: Most versatile colour on the market
Disadvantages: Could be cheaper I guess but you get what you pay for
If there is a more versatile lip liner out there I have not been able to find it!
My mum introduced me to this and I had been reading about it for years, in every magazine that has a feature on what Make Up artists cant do without, this product always seems to feature. I am specifically talking about the SPICE colour.
Its neutral enough not to look like you have an awful line drawn around your lips but not so neutral that its wishy washy. I think it is a perfect match for another MAC product Long lasting lip colour in "Loyal".
However like I say, its neutral enough to wear with other colours too
I wear it on its own with a slick of gloss on top for a daytime look, or under lipstick for a more noticeable dramatic look.
The pencil is a self sharpening pencil not a twist up design which I prefer because you want a nice thin line for precision. I use it every day several times a day and would say that one pencil lasts around 6 months.
Costs around £15-16 in Selfridges, its one of the few make up items that I will never change.
Summary: Indispensible

- 20/05/09 How fine a line it gives depends on the sharpness of the pencil
It does last a long time and its a self sharpening design.

- 19/05/09 It would be good to know more about how this performs - does it give a fine, precise line, or a thicker one? Does it last a long time (on the lips and the pencil itself)? Is it self sharpening or a twist up design? |
