Watch out for fake beauty products (MAC Lipstick)

Unfortunately it seems like Skyedame has been a consumer of a counterfeit product - believe it or not 'faking' high end/luxury beauty products is big business, with extremely high profits being made from unsuspecting customers, and with the rise of the internet it is becoming ever popular. To the untrained eye, and even sometimes people in the industry, the packaging is an exact copy and the fact that it is a fake is almost impossible to tell. However, when the product is used the quality of the product is of an extremely low standard, if someone has used the product before then it is likely that they would be able to see a significant difference. However if you are buying the product for the 1st like - as Skedame has - then you are then left with the impression that this is the usual stand of the product and therefore are very likely to buy it again.

My advice would to be to remember that, as with a lot of things - if it sounds too good to be true it probably is!! There is no way that you could purchase a genuine MAC lipstick for £2.99!! (the site saying it is a discountinued product is likley to be just a way to get you to buy it - I know that MAC do not sell on their discontinued products) So if you want the genuine article I would buy it straight from the official site of the beauty supplier i.e. www.maccosmetics.co.uk
