Advantages: nice colour, lasts well, petite, stylish and sleek casing
So as mentioned before my bestie bought me a whole load of lovely presents, one of them being a £50 MAC make up gift card. So I wandered into the MAC store in London's Covent Garden and decided to let one of the makeup guru's give me some good advice and I ended up buying a really lush lipstick!
I bought the Lustre Lipstick in a glittery pink colour for £17. It comes in a cute shiny black casing with hints of glimmer and glitter embellished in the design. It's really small and shaped rather like a bullet, but is to small and petite it can easily fit in a pocket, or a minimal clutch bag whilst still looking really elegant and expensive.
The lustre lipstick is more of a moisturising lipstick and so is ideal for me as a person who doesn't actually where that much lipstick too often. It's really glossy and so has good staying power and for me I would normally apply a lipstick and then a clear gloss as a top coat and for some sheen but with this lipstick it really is a 2 in 1! The shape of the lipstick is slightly pointed but with a flat end so as to make it easy to apply. I also find this lipstick does not have that awful synthetic smell I tend to come across in most lipsticks which is good! In a weird way, it actually smells quite sweet so this is another big bonus.
I find my MAC lipstick has a lot of lasting power, around 6 hours with me munching here and there until I actually felt I needed re-application. This is brilliant as is proves its worth in paying more for this brand than something you may get half price in other brands. Another plus is that this lipstick doesn't require heavy application for a good even coverage and unlike some lipsticks and lipglosses it isn't overly sticky so as to leave me with the ugly, white residue in the corners of my mouth or the rim of my lips nor does it make my lips stick together when I am talking!
Overall I really love my new MAC lipstick, and as there are other varieties in the range I will totally be sticking with MAC in future to experiment with different looks and types. I have an Estee Laudeer lipstick and some from cheaper brands but I actually am totally in love with the MAC's lipsticks so I can only give it 5 stars!
