MAC eyeliner is absoultely fantastic and I couldn't rate it any higher than this. Firstly, it has a creamy texture and when applied, acts as more of a kohl as it's very soft leading to a good appliation. The application is so easy as the eyeliner seems to glide on, you only need to put on one layer, so to speak, as it covers the entire lid in one go.
It's not heavy on the eye as some are but you can forget you have this one. It's amazing just how long the eyeliner lasts, I can put it on at 8am and by the time I get ready for bed at 10pm it's still on and as vibrant as ever. I'll admit though, if you touch your eye or the eye area during the day it can rub a little but this is the only downfall.
They are of a high pigment, they come in rich colours with a metallic finish. Although MAC claim that the eyeliners are sparkly, the sparkles are not seperate to the eyeliner colour, it's as if they're mixed in and so the sparkles don't scratch or irritate the eyes like some with glitter might do, it's like they're part of the mixture.
Pearlglides were only supposed to be a limited edition collection of eyeliners but due to their popularity they're still avaliable on the official MAC website, hopefully they'll be back in stores soon. The eyeliners comes in a range of eight colours, the most popular one's being black, brown, green and purple. The price is £11 which is quite alot compared to some but they do last a while as not a lot is needed per application and the quality is unbeatable. Every woman out there should carry one of these in her purse.
Although the 'Pearlglides' were released as part of the limited edition MAC 'Suite Array' collection, they are still available for the meantime directly from MAC and eBay etc. They are also rumoured to be making a (permanent) comeback next year due to their popularity.
Marketed as a 'creamy kohl like eye-liner with a sparkly, reflective finish' they are long lasting and 'feel comfortable on the eye.'
They are highly pigmented with rich, metallic sparkly finishes.
They are very, very creamy and glide on the eye easily and although MAC state that they are full of glitter, the particles themselves are small and smooth, so don't worry about irritating or scratching the skin like some glitterliners can do.
There are eight shades in total ranging from black and brown to green and purple. All are vibrant and metallic, but the amount of glitter varies from colour to colour.
At £11.00 each - which seems to be the average price of a good quality eyeliner today - they are great value for money, although the creamy texture will cause them to be used up quicker than a harder one. Well worth it, though!
The 'Pearlglides' can be used in many different ways.
~ Smudged under the lower lashes they give a lovely effect that can brighten up any look. Both matching / contrasting and smokey / bright shades look great.
~ If kept sharpened they can create intense, fine lines along the upper lashline. Smudged or left defined this looks great and works for any eye shape.
~ Although 'unconventional' they make great eyeshadows too - Simply draw them onto the lid then smudge with a brush or finger. The result is a shimmering, reflective, almost 'wet-look' colour that lasts for ages with no creasing.
Although the glitter is very visible when swatched on the hand, once applied to the eyes it can be sheered out a little to make it more wearable for those who don't like super shimmery products.
The more neutral shades (Black Russian, Molasses, Spare Change and Wolf) could even be 'work friendly' if required :-)
Once on the eye they are long lasting, but not entirely smudge proof so you have to be careful if touching your eye area. They don't fade throughout the day either, so no need for touch ups. Overall, I love these! If MAC were to release any new shades in the future I would definately pick them up.
Love the texture, the finish and the versatility of these.
A richly coloured Eye Liner with a touch of shimmer and sparkle / Glides on smoothly for an intense longwearing and smudge-proof line / Creamy texture blends easily for a softer / smoky effect.
