Disadvantages: Its quite expensive
I'm writing this review for all you pigment lovers out there because the best thing about these little pots of wonder is that they have multi purpose uses- That's right Pigments are not just for your eyes.
I remember buying a few different pigment colors thinking they were so pretty but i didnt like them for use on my eyes for example I bought a MAC Pigment in Fuchsia a few months ago , I love the color but i decided i didnt like how it looked on my eyes. I was about to toss it into my forgotten makeup pile(with all my other impulse buys I always seem to make!) but then decided to mix it in with some old clear lipgloss (only add a tiny amount you can build up how bright you want it by adding more pigment if need be) I applied it to my lips and fell in love with the color, it was an amazing pink with shimmery type undertones(a colour that I would really struggle to find in any makeup stores) That got me into experimenting with my pigments and other uses. Here are a few simple ideas to put your Pigments to Good Use.
Lipgloss - You can use any clear or yellow base lip gloss/lip balm or even Vaseline . (buy a 2 or 5 gram clear plastic jar with a lid) Pick out one of your favourite pigment colors , Transfer the Gloss into your plastic jar and then add your pigment color ( Use more or less depending on the color effect you want ) Mix and Apply to your lips. There ya go a new lipgloss colour!
You could use it as a boost for your blusher. If you have a colour similar to the blush you use then just add a little bit and it will give the blush an extra boost of colour and texture. I have before just used a pink pigment on its own and it looked fab! You could also add it to bronzers.
Adding a neutral/tan pigment to moisturiser can make a tinted moisturiser and with the thickness of the pigment will create a nice coverage (great if your on the go and haven't got time for a full face) I have done this several times when im out the door to work and it works great.
One of my personal fav's for MAC pigments are adding to nail polish.. (clear or light colour) Its great, you can make up a colour that you have been looking for that you can't find and if you use the pigment in your lipgloss and on your eyes you will have a full matching set! (I feel that this makes up for the fact I always fail to seem to have any sort of matching underwear or socks on!... it makes me feel better anyway hehe)
If you add a little bit of water to the pigment it will make the colour dramatically brighter (if you want it brighter on your eyes)
The uses of pigment is pretty endless, just dont be afraid to experiment and have fun... after all that's what makeup's meant to be about right (well that and hiding the fact we had about 3 hours sleep last night or too much wine!)
Anyway, have fun and good luck! xxxx
Summary: The mulitple uses for MAC pigment, its not just for the eyes!
