Advantages: lasts ages, vast range of colours

Disadvantages: can be a bit pricey initially

Everyone who loves makeup should have at least one MAC pigment in their stash! These might seem expensive for a tiny jar of product, but these babies last years! They are so versatile and can be used almost everywhere (although some colours are not deemed eye or lip safe respectively).

For those not familiar with pigments, they are like loose powder eyeshadow but velvety smooth. They can be applied wet or dry and when applied wet they give a high shine finish (well the metallic ones do). There are lots of different shades ranging from the neutral to the neon to create lots of different looks with. My personal faves are Vanilla (great for a highlight), Softwash Grey (a limited edition colour that is lavender with a grey after tone) and Old Gold (a bronzey gold with a green duo chrome). Each jar retails for approximately £15 from maccosmetics.co.uk and retail outlets where Mac is sold.

Summary: Sparkly goodness
