Advantages: Great Value, Huge selection of colours, Long Lasting, Multi-Purpose.

Disadvantages: Can be tricky to apply.

Pigments are one of MAC's most popular product. Available in a huge range of colours, textures and finishes they are a loose 'powder' suitable for a variety of uses.

Firstly at £15.00 they are great value, the container is huge and will last the average user a VERY long time. I almost wish MAC made these in a smaller size, since I can never imagine myself ever using one of these up!

I use them primarily as eyeshadows, although some shades make great blushes, or mix them with a clear gloss and they make lovely lip colours. I also mix with MAC's Mixing Mediums to make unique shades of 'liquid eyeliners.'

They contain special binding ingredients to ensure that it doesn't all fall off the brush and all over your face during application. A good tip is to use a paddle shaped brush and to tap off any excess pigment before applying.

As stated before they come in wide range of colours, varying from sophisticated, office friendly neutrals to extremely bright, fun, sparkly shades. They do not crease or flake and are very long lasting in my opinion. Absolutely love these and I hope MAC doesn't stop releasing new shades any time soon! :-)

Summary: Want to try you first pigment? Try "Vanilla" - Great for highlighting or a neutral wash of colour.
