Advantages: Versitile, easy to use, tons of colours, great fun.

Disadvantages: Price, don't recommend knocking one over either, that's very messy!!

MAC pigments are rapidly becoming a must have essential in my make up bag!! They come in a huge array of colours, are so versatile, and last for AGES!!
You can use them as eye shadow, glitter, eye liner, and there are even bases to make them into lip gloss!!
The colours really are gorgeous, they last for ages, and stay on really well, I don't seem to have a problem with migration either, which I have with other products before...nothing worse than going on a big night out, going to the loo and having smudged eye shadow everywhere!!
I really love using them as eye liners too, you can blend them into one another so for example, you could have gold from the inside of your eye, blending into teal green at the outer edges...there really are unlimited options to experiment with!
Also, if you're going for a really sparkly look, for instance Christmas, I've used them to make my eyelashes look a bit glittery!

They are however quite expensive, but look out for them in airports/duty free/discount shops, and you can get some real bargains online if you buy regularly from a decent seller!
A great way of reducing the cost, is to split them...you can buy stackable make up pots fairly cheaply, and if you've got a friend/mum/sister/neice/daughter/or anyone who fancies testing them out, you can carefully divide up the pigments into the pots!! You still get loads, and you halve your cost, and you can have some fun testing out new ideas on each other!!

Definitely worth investing in!
