MAC Plush Lash
Advantages: It gives the perfect false lash effect and isn't breaking the bank!
I bought this mascara around 6 months ago, I asked the lady on the Mac counter which mascara was her favourite out of their range and why. She told me this mascara because it gives extreme volume and lengthening which of course I loved the sound of. I had a look at the tester and the brush looked very similar to the one I usually use which is Clinique's High Impact Mascara so since I had run out of it I thought I'd give this one a go.
***What is the mascara wand like***
It is quite a thick wand. It occasionally gets a little too much product on the brush which I just take off on the side of the mascara pot so as not to waste it. But it does not clump which is usually my main concern with mascaras.
The first day I wore the mascara was to work, that day I had four people ask me what mascara I used and I told them. One lady said she had never seen such long eye lashes that were so separated as well. These compliments indicated to me that the mascara was worth changing to from the Clinique one. Plus it was £2.00 cheaper. It is £12.50 for 8g. It comes in brown and black. I bought black since I do not find that brown defines my eyelashes enough.
***Why I love this mascara***
* I can build the volume of my lashes by going over the lashes several times with the wand and it not clumping.
* It coats every single eye lash - the ones in the corner of the eye to the outside of the eye
* It curls the lashes amazingly
* It does not smudge or flake under the eyes even when it has been on for the entire day and evening
* It seems to last forever (the amount in the mascara)
The lady told me that the wand has two slightly different sides to it which do different things to the lashes but to me I see no difference in the wand. All the bristles look the same to me on both sides. However one side of the wand is supposed to have shorter bristles which curl and separate the lashes. The longer bristles on the other side of the wand are supposed to define and comb the lashes.
The mascara looks quite boring but so do a lot of mascaras. It is all black in colour and she has 'MAC Plush Lash' written on the side of it in silver. However the feel of the tube of mascara feels very different to others I have had. The Clinique one has a shiny feel whereas this one almost feels like it has a velvet feel (but it is of course not velvet). I don't mind the mascara looking boring as long as it does its job well. Which this one does.
A great priced mascara especially since the self serve mascaras are on average now £8.99 for example, Revlon, L'oreal etc. They have all gradually crept up in price which means there is not such a massive price difference between the self serve brands to premium brands.
The mascara gives my eyelashes exactly what I want... length, volume, defining colour and separation... which gives the ultimate false lash effect, which I think every women would love!
Summary: A fantastic mascara from the Mac colour experts!
