Advantages: helps to prime lashes to get a better result from mascaras

Disadvantages: doesn't really do anything for me, takes ages and having to use more product

I bought this lash primer at MAC because the make up artist recommended it to me, as I've been telling them that I wanted longer and fuller looking lashes and none of their mascara's (which promised it) actually did that... So they convinced me that this was the solution.

So, anyway, this is a white primer that you put on your lashes using a regular mascara brush, this product also comes in a regular black MAC mascara tube, so you'll have to make sure you read what it is before you apply or you might mistakably use it as a regular mascara.

This primer is meant to be applied on your lashes prior to applying your regular mascara. So I took the wand out and applied the white primer to my lashes like I would my regular mascara, making sure that I coat every lash so I can get the best result from this product. I found that I needed to apply quite a few coats to get all my lashes wrapped in this stuff... It also took a while to set and dry and my lashes just looked white once dry.

Applying mascara on your lashes whilst this primer is still wet won't do much as they will just be melted together and you can't get the full benefit of the primer. So once dry, I put on a coat of my regular black MAC mascara. I noticed that I had to use quite a few coats on every angle of my lashes because the white stuff was peeking through from the top part of the lashes.

After using it a few times, I've now concluded that it's a bit of a hassle and I just haven't got the time to coat my lashes in 2 different mascaras and wait that extra 4 minutes... I would not have minded so much if there was a more significant result, but I don't even think it made that much of a difference to the result of the mascara. I've now discovered a different mascara that does exactly what I want without me having to apply 2 different products and not as many coats of mascara either. (My Lancome Virtuose really does the job, so I've now stopped using the MAC ones.)

Summary: unless you have 10 minutes extra a day to spend coating your lashes for not much of a difference....
