Advantages: Brighter Eyes, Easy Application

Disadvantages: Creases, Expensive

On my quest to find the perfect eye shadow primer, I was persuaded by a MAC representative to try their eye primer and I admit it is out of my price range but I had heard that MAC makeup is renown for its quality, so decided to see if it was the miracle product.

The little pot of primer cost me £22.00 and yes, I was shocked at the price. It is available online and most big department stores, such as John Lewis and Debenhams have a counter, where someone can persuade you to part with your well earned cash.

The little pots come in 3 shades - light, medium and dark. I chose light, which matched my fair English rose skin well!

The primer comes in a little clear plastic round pot, which makes application easy, with the name printed underneath and MAC on a black screw top plastic lid. Some may say it looks stylish and sleek but personally it appears a bit cheap to me and I expect more if I'm paying £22, I prefer more quirky packaging like that of Urban Decay.

The texture of this primer is quite thick but equally creamy. I chose to apply it with my finger but if you apply too much, it just creases into your eyelid and looks like you've had your makeup plastered on, I think it is probably better to apply with a brush for a more even coverage.

I have to admit that the primer does make my eye shadow appear brighter but it still creases and I find it collecting in the creases and then to be honest, I think my eye shadow looks better without using it, however on the bright side, my eye shadow doesn't need applying as often.

I do think there are much better eye primers and I wouldn't really recommend this to anyone, it's an expensive mistake to make.

Summary: Not the best primer
