Advantages: Natural coverage, Easy to apply.
Disadvantages: Oxidised, Needed touching up throughout the day.
"Select SPF 15" was the first of MAC's foundation that I tried.
It promised medium coverage with a fresh, semi-matte finish.
Upon first application, I was pleased. I had a great colour match (Not surprising really, since MAC have such an extensive range of foundation shades, though perhaps not the for the palest, most cool toned of us...) that I can rarely achieve with other brands.
It dried quickly and didn't leave me with a tacky, damp finish as some liquid foundations tend too. The coverage wasn't too great, I would say it is more of a "light-medium" personally. I still needed to use a good concealer and setting powder with this, but in general I was happy with Select.
However, thoughout the day I could feel my usually normal/dry skin becoming a little oiler than usual and noticed that the foundation had started to oxidise (When foundation mixes with the natural oils in your skin and turns a darker, more orange toned colour.) This is a big no-no for me, since I am very pale.
Disapointed, but I decided to keep trying this foundation for about a week to see if it worked any better for me. Unfortunately it didn't, even with an oil controlling primer underneath.
However, a few friends of mine really like this foundation, so it really is something you need to try for yourself. Most MAC staff are friendly enough to give you a small sample if you ask nicely :-)
To apply I used a flat foundation brush (MAC #190) and applied a few dots of foundation onto my skin, before blending downwards and outwards using short buffing motions.
Summary: I will not be repurchasing this foundation, Much prefer Studio Fix Fluid :-)
