I've only got one shadestick that I bought along with the colours to complete the Viva Glam V look for the Pamela Anderson eyes. I must say, unlike my experience with the other MAC products, which I LOVE, I'm not too fond of this one...

I bought the colour mangomix, a coppery orange shade. It was recommended to me by one of the MAC make up artists. They said that it would bring out the colour of the shadows and complete the look. When they applied it on my lids, I couldn't really see what they were doing as I had to close my eyes, so I assumed that it really did make a difference to the look. Unfortunately, when I tried it the next day, I didn't get the desired effect and found the shadestick didn't go on very smoothly and it was pulling my skin too much to the point where it just got uncomfortable. I don't feel that I need this stick anyway to get a nice vibrant look like the one on the Viva Glam V picture. I couldn't even use it as a liner as it didn't go on nicely like my Urban Decay 24/7 liners or even the other MAC liners.

Sadly, I'm very disappointed and haven't felt the need to try any other shadestick colours either as the feel of it isn't nice on my eyes at all. It could be down to the skin on my eye area being a bit sensitive, so perhaps it's worth a try, however, it's quite pricey so that might put you off.
I'd say stick to Urban Decay Primer Potion or a MAC paint pot to get the desired effect as an eyeshadow base!

Summary: not for me as there are much smoother liners or eye shadow bases out there
