Advantages: Skin looks picture perfect.
Disadvantages: ---
Having always being a marketing man's dream, I usually go out and spend all my money on expensive foundations because of impressive advertising campaigns, later to be disappointed when it was the wrong shade or made me break out in lots of spots. So after, a while of sticking to a tinted moisturiser I decided to go to the MAC counter in Edinburgh and buy a new foundation. The friendly girl at the counter recommended Studio Fix Fluid, as it is one of the most popular products.
This set me back £18 for 30ml and I was recommended to get the foundation in shade NW20. The foundation is in a clear, glass bottle with a black, rubbery lid and the writing on the bottle is a metallic silver. Minimalistic but stylish.
Anyway, the foundation is quite thick and I would say less is more in this case as it gives medium coverage, so too much and you will look like a walking tangerine. Also, to stop the wrinkles from appearing early, it contains SPF 15. I ocassionally get spots, but this foundation hasn't made them any worse at all; maybe because it is oil-free.
Applying this foundation is pretty easy, I would recommend using some moisturiser on your face a couple of minutes beforehand though and using a foundation brush to make your make-up look more even. If I apply too much of my studio fix, I end up looking pretty orange because it is quite a dark shade. There are 26 shades to choose from and there will probably be one to suit your skin tone. You can get this from MAC counters which are in stores such as:
- Harvey Nichols
- Jenners
- Debenhams
- maccosmetics.com
The results from this are great, skin looks matte and flawless and skintone is even. Also, it is quite expensive but you get good value for money. I am still using the same bottle four months after buying and I have half a bottle left! Not bad!
Summary: Great make-up!
