MAC Studio Sculpt Foundation has been 5 years in the making, and those 5 years have been well worth it! Priced at £22.02 this is by no means the cheapest foundation on the market. But does it work?

The short answer is: Yes (yes, and a million times, yes). I bought this quite by accident as I was in a MAC store already spending too much when I asked to try a different foundation, hoping to get a sample to take home with me. The make up artist applied this foundation and I was sold straight away - the eager looks from my two friends with me just spurred me on.

MAC Studio Sculpt Foundation is a gel-based foundation which makes is easily builable - you can choose to use a small amount for slight coverage (although this isn't "slight" at all!) or keep building it up as required. This is great for dry skin as the gel seems to nourish and hydrate the skin.

It comes in a sqeezy tube, which sounds like you might squeeze too much out, but I always seem to be able to control how much I want to get out.

I did really struggle with finding the right method of putting this foundation on. I am used to using expensive foundation brushes but honestly, the finish was not very good. In the end I resorted to foundation sponges and have found that these give me the best finish.

I bet you now want to know what the coverage is like. Quite frankly, it is excellent! I can use this without a concealer and it completely transforms my skin. Even if I am not bothering with any other make up I will take the time to apply this everyday. It covers up my redness as well as smoothing out my skin tone, but my skin still appears natural and doesn't look caked in foundation. Some of my friends have described this as a "satin" finish.

MAC Studio Sculpt Foundation is also very long-wearing and it lasts me through-out the day without requiring any touch ups. It is also water resistant so it hasn't been running in the recent downpours of rain.

Overall this has to be my favourite MAC product, and definitely my favourite foundation to use. At £22.02 it isn't cheap, but if you are in doubt, pop along to your nearest MAC counter or store and give it a try.
