Advantages: Good coverage, looks nice
Disadvantages: Not sure it will last too long
I am always on the look out for a good foundation. I always seem to get the colour or the texture slightly wrong though and end up looking very unnatural. I decided last weekend that I would go in the MAC store in Westfield and try and get some advice so I could actually get a good foundation and stop wasting money on those I don't like.
I have used MAC products before and have always been quite impressed with how good they are, so I knew that I would be able to find something good. I went in to the store and spoke to one of the sales consultants and expplained the kind of foundation that I wanted. She chose the colour and suggested this foundation. She also tried the foundation on my face so I was confident that I was happy with the product.
The studio tech foundation comes in a black cardboard box with the MAC logo on it. It tells you the weight of the product, which is 10g. It also tells you the shade of the foundation on the top. The one I purchased was NC25. I would advise that you ask one of the consultants if you are not sure of what colour you need. The ingredients of the product are on the back of the box so if you have any allergies or want to check these you can.
Inside the box is the actual product. It comes in a really nice black little case that would look really attractive in your make-up bag. It says MAC and Studio Tech in silver writing. It is easy to open the case with a button on the front. Once inside there is a mirror on the top. This makes the product perfect to carry around in your handbag as you can apply it anywhere with it having its own mirror. In the bottom half of the case is the actual foundation. I must admit that you don't seem to get a lot in this. I haven't used this product before so I am not sure how long this will last me. If you lift up this layer there is a round sponge underneath for you to apply the foundation with. The product is very attractive and neat overall.
The product is very easy to apply. You just have to use the sponge to apply the product, then smooth this onto your face. I quite like the little sponge as I usually use my fingers to apply foundation, which can be messy and also doesn't always apply as smoothly I would like. The sponge though allows for a much more smooth application and also means my hands stay clean. The sponge does need regular cleaning though. MAC also do sell replacements so if you needed a new one it would be easy to get.
I think the foundation looks really nice on. It is very smooth and provides good coverage all over. It looks quite natural on so it doesn't look like you have caked yourself in make up. I also found it to be just the right thickness as well. It does not feel too heavy on your face but provides enough coverage to hide any imperfections. I find that I haven't had to use too much of the product in one go so this does mean that although it doesn't seem like there is a lot of the product it may actually last a while.
I was told that this foundation would last through going to the gym etc. I haven't put it to the test in reagrds to this but I have found it lasts me throughout the day. I have looked at myself in the mirror later in the day at work and the foundation i still in tact and looks as it did when I applied it. I find a lot of other foundations tend to have rubbed off or just faded throughout the day. I don't want to spend the day reapplying foundation so this is perfect for me.
You can buy this product for £21 pounds at MAC stores. MAC also have counters at some department stores. It may seem quite expensive but i personally think it is worth it.
Overally this is a great foundation. It provides all the coverage I want, looks natural and lasts all day.
